ITS RED AND WHITE!! From what i gather this line was mede between 1959-60, the earlier ones have a leather 'luggage' handle which was replaced by a plastic one (mines got the leather one). Its 25 watt with split pre and power amp. It has built in tremolo complete with brass pedal. 2 channels with 2 inputs on each, channel 1 has volume and tone pots, channel 2 has vol, tone then 6 buttons for different eq(contra-bass, bass, middle, treble, high treb and rotary) and tremolo. Only use it at home and recording, not had chance to try it live. Considering its age the features are good but the eq buttons could have easily been replaced with low mid treb pots. Has 2 coax outs on the back and a pot that must have controlled them, this wasnt original but is no longer wired up.

It has a beautiful old classic valve amp sound. The eq buttons can give a wah type sound, for a nice mild funky sound or just warm lite blues bite. No gain but starts to distort when turned up past half. I use an epi les paul, nothing fancy but sounds spot on. The trem has speed and depth controls, its a little noisy when the depth is up full, kinda clicks in time wih the speed setting, not noticable while playing though, that aside its great.

Ive never gigged it, the guy who had it before me had it rewired by a specialist. The leather strap wasnt attatched when i got it as the bit that holds it to the amp had perished, a saddler put that right and now you'd never know. i read about one user who'd taken the pre amp out and mad its own enclosure for it due to valve rattle shortening the valve life. All the switches work fine, the foot switch is solid as, and the eq buttons feel like new, very sturdy.

Fantastic amp, easily the best thing ive bought, although ive got a 65 epi olympic double on its way to me so that might be my darling for a bit, wouldnt be without it though, id definately try get another if anything was to happen but theres not many around. It looks fantastic too, Selmer always had interesting amps, with the croc skin ones etc. It would probably be better with all rotary tone pots but the buttons are fun and give instant access to other sounds...
