Im using de Classic 30 with a PRS with Jb et APH-1 Duncan pickup and a Fender Strat USA with Duncan pickup in a 2x12 cab with Rola speaker. I play Blues And Rock and the amp suit my style with no noise ... except when i crank it on 10. It's a TWEED style amp so the clean distort at high volume but HEY!!! it's what i want!

This is a new Sewell Wampus Cat 30 watt 2x6L6 head purchased with a 1x15 and 1x12 cabinet. It has very simple controls: volume, bass, treble and a bright switch. No reverb or tremolo. It has plenty of power for what I am doing. I play blues, soul, country, rockabilly, funk--a bit of everything. This amp can cover it all with truly exceptional tone.

I play teles w/ single coils. This amp gives me a big thick clean tone until about halfway up on the volume, then gets a nice snarl from 7 on up. A bit like a Super Reverb tone but smoother and more complex. The amp is extremely quiet when running--barely a hum. This is an amp that requires a player to be in control of his instrument. It is very responsive to anything you do with your hands. I use a pick and fingers approach with my picking hand and I can hear all of the little dynamic things I do--which I really like. If you are not in control of your fretting hand--brushing strings on bends, etc.-- you'll hear it. I play vintage Fender blackfaces too and they are not as organic as this amp is. You play this amp as much as you do your guitar. You can "hide" a little more with a Fender if you get sloppy. Going to a Sewell can take a little getting used to. I've found I really like the way the amp listens to my hands more. I purchased a cabinet along with the head with a Weber California 15 and a Celestion 12". Doug wired them so I can use them together or separately. (He has separate outputs for 2,4, and 8 ohms on the head--a nice touch)Both are great sounding speakers with this head and they really complement each other well when used together. I really love the Weber 15" though!

This is a hand wired point to point chasis with a hand built cabinet. The construction is rock solid and the cabinet is incredibly resonant and musical sounding. Doug is a great guy to work with and I have no doubt this amp will hold up a LONG time. If there is a problem, I know he will take care of anything and fix it. I've built a couple amps and work on my own and looking at the construction quality of this one, I feel pretty confident and wouldn't worry about gigging without a backup.

Doug Sewell is the classiest, most responsive, helpful, and downright friendly individual I have ever done business with. He lives here in the same town, so I was able to go and try out a number of different speakers and chassis before deciding what I wanted. He will work with you to find the setup that works best for you and what you want. I would have no hesitation doing business with Doug again in the future.

I love this amp. It is a tone machine. I also play BF Fenders-- Vibrolux, Super Reverb, an Allen Old Flame and this amp is in its own class. I would not hesitate to replace it if lost or stolen.
