This is a Sewell Wampuscat Classic 27 watt 2x10 combo made in 2000. I bought the amp used from Doug Sewell. I called to ask him if he had ever built Classic 2x10 befor. He just happened to have this on hand. So I told him to mark it sold. It is a single channel combo with a volume, a bass, and a treble controll, all top mounted. There are 4 speaker jacks. One 8ohm, two 4 ohm, and one 2ohm. There is a footswitch jack but I do not have the footswitch. The tubes are 2-6l6 and three preamp tubes of the 12AX variety. This is a LOUD 27 watts. I should mention this Classic has a tube rectifier. I play mostly church gigs and this amp will cover any of those gigs. I di jam from time to time with some of the local blues people and this amp will cover those gigs as well.

Sound Quality : 10
I play telecasters, strats and Pauls with this amp. WE tend to cover a variety of music styles ion a church setting and this amp will cover all the ground. The amp is dead quiet. I have three Sewell amps now and they are all dead quiet on stage. I have a Tplex with a 1x15 and a Tverb with a 1x15. my reviews are here on those amps as well.
When i first recieved the amp from Doug the speakers buzzed. We determined that they might have recieved a shock from shipping so they were repalced with 2- 10" Rajun Cajuns from Eminence. Good call. They sound tight and focused, nice high end, chimy and nasty when they are pushed. Tell you the truth, I will probly have Doug build a new baffle sometime and replace them with a 15" Weber. The 10's are great but i have been won over by the sound of a 15. just my taste I guess.
This amp sounds like its name. Classic. Doug said he had mated two early Fender circuts to acheive the Classic sound. Tweedville and Delux combined. It took me a week to understand what this amp is all about. It has that early Fender chime that is so beauitful sounding but that begins to grow hair after you turn the volume past about 3. At that point the amp begins to get a bit of grit going. If you back off your pick attack at this volume level, the amp cleans up on its own, but whenyou dig in the amp lets loose with the nicest grind. So when you push the volume up to half way and use your guitar volume, you can go from bell like chime to classic Fender dirt. The bass controll is most loveable to my ears at or below half way. The treble controll is your call. This amp is so resposive to picking dynamics. Of the three Sewell amps I own, this one has become my favorite and I will be ordering another Classic in 2006. A fifty watt version with 1-15 Weber. The Classic works very well for Blues, country, rock, and Jazz sounds. But this isn't a metalhead amp. The amp responds to pedals like all my Sewell amps. Doug has built a fine circut and the amp loves any pedal you throw at it.
I am slayed by this amp. I was going to purchase one of Dougs Blistertone amps next, but that will have to wait until i get the Fifty watt Classic.

Reliability : 10
I have no fear giging with any of my Sewell amps. never had a break down yet.

Customer Support : 10
Doug is the best! You call him and he gets things going. He loves to talk amps and build amps.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing going on 40 years now. I would replace any Sewell amp that I lost for what ever reason. These amps ound so good and are built so well and look so fine. I still have my Bogner Shiva combo, and a 1965 Fender Super reverb, a Fender early Princton....a couple other lessor amps but the Sewell are always going out the door with me while the others seem to stya home.
Doug will build to your taste and he knows how to ask the right questions to find out the sound you are looking for. i will likely be buying Sewell amps until I get married again or i just run out of room
