This amp dates from 1955, the pot codes and tube dates tell me this anyway...on/off switch and volume control. I don't think this amp needs any features, its perfect as it is. Its a small low wattage practice amp.

Sound Quality : 10
Awesome class A valve tones, with breakup/clipping as you go from half way up on the volume. Low wattage, so safe to fire up at home without deafening the neighbours. Great for country, rock'n'roll, blues, or rock. Plug in a Tele, and you can lose an afternoon...

Reliability : 10
I have had this revalved, and serviced. It is an ancient piece of kit, and I have paid an amp tech to check it for electrical safety, and give it a thorough service. I am in the UK, so run this 110v amp with a stepdown transformer. It has worked since 1955, with all the original components, so I give this 10/10. My amp tech says its really simple inside, so there's not a lot to go wrong.

Made in 1955, I think the warranty has expired by now. The amp hasn't though, so that's good enough for me!

Overall Rating : 10
I love this amp, created at the dawn of rock 'n' roll, looks cool - real retro. Sounds amazing, and you don't see many of these around. Its cream/tan tolex, with a sackcloth grille. 1 x 6" Jensen alnico speaker that dates from 1959 - this isn't original. Are there any other 1330 owners out there? I would love to see some pics of others from this era...

Two tubes, RCA 50Y6GT, 50L6GT, RCA 12S17 pre amp. Two inputs, volume control, on/off switch, one 6" speaker. Some kind of brown covering, with burlap looking cloth over the speaker, plus a leather handle. This is my practice amp, it has a very clean, warm tone, with great seperation. I play jazz standards and some blues, this amp handles the work very well. I keep it turned down, so who knows what happens when it's cranked up? A tone control would be nice.

Sound Quality : 10
I play an Ibanez 2355M (lawsuit ES175) arch top with humbuckers. The amp is a good match for this jazz box. No noise, rich, warm, clean sound, that is amazingly good for such a low end model.

Reliability : 9
I have not had any problems with this amp since I picked it up at a garage sale. Didn't know you are supposed to service tubes. It was in storage for several years, but I'm playing it daily now. Oh yeh, the leather handle disintegrated and came off. Guess I'll have to take it back to Sears, and get it fixed.

Like me, the amps maker is no longer in business. So know support.

I get off on this little old amp because it cuts the mustard, and I picked it up for chump change. I laugh at the prices of new amps whenever I go into a guitar shop. I dig it down to the ancient cigerette burns on the top. Who knows the stories this amp could tell if it could talk, or the music that was played with it.
