This model I bought in 1965 was 150 watt dual channel ( 75 watts per channel) upgraded from twin 12 " Jensens at 100 watts (50 watts per channel)with a Fender Jazzmaster and Vox 12 string (italian model). It was great. Tremolo, reverb, are deep & clear. I previously had its forerunner model (2 x12" Jensens/60 watt dual channel tremolo & reverb). This model distorts at 80% power but that much is rarely used in small & mid sized audiences.

New price was $379.00.

Mine was destroyed in an accident in 1970. Would love to replace it.

very reliable

This model came with a 3 year warranty from Sears. But as the Silvertone line has long since ended, no wrranties exist.

I never had any servicing needs for my unit over the 5 years, I owned it.

According to the speaker codes, my amp was produced in 1966. It has six 10" Jensen speakers. This amp has been called a piggyback combo, due to the fact that the head fits perfectly into a slot in the back of the cabinet, which is a great feature. the amp is very light considering how bulky it appears. It has four wheels on it and is extremly easy to move around. As for the head, it has two channels, both with two inputs each, a treble and bass knob. the first channel is used for a clean signal. The second can be used for the reverb and tremolo effects built into the head. the tremolo has a very warm vintage throb type of sound. the reverb sounds very good, but is rarely found in good shape. I Have played through five 1465 model heads and the reverb really only worked on two. It has a footswitch to remotely turn the effects on and off, however it is not needed to access the effects. This is one of the best SOLID STATE amps ive ever heard. it sounds great for guitar as well as bass.

an incredibly simple amp that does the job efficiently.

IT does not have a built in distortion but, if you turn it up past four it can get a great crunch, or shriek depending on your settings.
I would say that single coil pickups are better suited for it.
I use a 60's vox tone bender fuzz and it sounds amazing through this amp.

Reliability : 10
I have had it serviced and i would depend on it any day. As with any equipment, especially if you interested in vintage stuff, you have to service it and keep it in order, to get the best you can get out of it.

This amp was made in the early 60's > I bought it new sometime before 1968. It is solid state and puts out 150 watts of power (It is VERY LOUD). 2 channels, each channel had 2 inputs, vol. base & trebbel controls. The second channel also had vibrato and reverb with 2 controls for each. There was a detachable foot pedal 2 control the effects. The head was coneected to the speaker cabinet by a long (zip cord) wire. It was not detachable (although I convertd mine later) the speaker cabinet has 6 10" jensen speakers. There is room in the bottom to store the head and foot pedal. I played R&R bass and it did the job foe me.

Sound Quality : 8
I used a Hagstom C-2 bass and a Gretsch. I never had to turn it to max and there was little distorion although the speakers would rattle at low freg at high vol.

Reliability : 9
The thing was bullet proof and never failed.

this amp is a sears silvertone 1465 solid state. it was made in the early 60's. i features a 6x10 cab with jensen speakers, the head is a 100 watt two channel (both have A and B inputs) with bass and treble settings, also includes a 'paper towel tube' style tremolo with controls and reverb controls with a foot pedal to bypass. this amp has serious tone and is way freakin loud. i would say the neatest thing about this amp is the cab has a little space at the bottom to store the head while traveling, not to mention the suprising light weight of the amp. the speaker grille is not transparent, but its a tan-ish color with neato little silver sparkles in it.
i paid $75 for it from my old band teacher in high school, but i know its definitely worth around $600.
