Mine I found used, made in the mid 90's. Now has the KT66 tubes and Low end countour mod. Efx Loop was standard on this model.

Sound Quality : 10
I use mostly humbucking guitars, but it likes my strats as well. My std. setup is a JB or 59' in the bridge and 59 or Jazz in the neck. The amp has more than enough gain, so I have gotten away from hi-output PU's. My guitar's personality really come out through this amp.

Reliability : 10
No issues, but I carry tubes and fuses, just cause you are asking for it if you don't. (justifily superstitous)

Never needed to do more than pick their brains, and they always answer any and all questions.

Something to remember for all new Soldano owners. They use a +4 efx loop in all their stuff. If you try to run a "regular" reverb or delay or whatever through the loop, you will hear a drop in volume, and a bunch of hum and noise. Nothing is broke, it's just that all efx loops rob soud, so Soldano made their loops compensate for it. I just purchased a new TC elec. unit that provides reverb and delay. I couldn't be happier now. Email for details if you like, I work with Solidbody Guitar, they are a mojor Soldano dealer, and they have this whole thing, down.

2 Channels, Effects loop. Standard 2 channel shared EQ etc....

Using a Les Paul Standard w/ Emg's. Pretty nice distortion, definitely not as thick sounding as say a 5150. Has a very distinct sound, very clear. Sounds mean and aggressive, but extremely clear.
Has a sound all of it's own.
The clean can be really clean and loud, and the dirt is thick but sizzly. It has that really quick attack of a Marshall, but more gain.
Great for rythmn, but seems to get lost in the mix when you step up for a solo......

Reliability : No Opinion
Only had it a couple of weeks.........

Never dealt with Soldano, but I will be. The effects loop, when used seems to drop the volume for some reason. It could be something I'm doing but we will see.

Good purchase. And they seem to hold there value.......
The clean is nice, kinda boomy bass due to the shared EQ but that is the price you pay for that Soldano grind.

I may check out a VHT or 5150II... We will see...
Great amp though!!!! Solid 80's distortion.

Brand spanking new, fresh out of the box. Killer! I play in two very different styles of bands, one is a metal band (very sludgy, C tuning) and the other is a melodic rock band. This amp sounds great for both. I really needed a versatile amp and this is it.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a PRS CE22 maple top and a few strats with humbuckers. This amp definitely lets the tone of each guitar shine through. I find that I can cut through much better than with the dual rectifier. I have no problems with it being noisy. It's the quietest amp I've ever owned. I like that the distortion isn't harsh. The amp sings.

Reliability : 8
I've only had it for a month, so I don't know what to say about the reliability. I've heard from most people that they never needed to get theirs fixed. We shall see.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had to deal with the company yet. From what I understand, they are very helpful.

I've been playing for 12 years or so. I fire my Digitech space station through this amp and it never gets lost or sounds muddy. I run the head through my Orange 4x12 and it just destoys everything else. In the time that I've played, I've made the switch from bass to guitar. I've owned more amps and guitars than I'd ever care to see again. I've tried every pedal I could get my hands on. All of this just to find the one sound that makes me happy. I found it: PRS+Soldano. End of story.
