100 watts of blistering pleasure. Two channels with a shared eq. Treble, Bass, Mid., and Presence controls could not possibly be any better. Each control plays off the other. The normal channel can be used as clean or crunch, and its own bright switch. The overdrive channel will swoon the tastiest gains from Warren Haynes to Van Halen, and beyond. My SLO has an effects loop, but I never used them, so I cant rate this feature

Most often I use either a '59 reissue Les Paul, or a Tom Anderson Hollow Drop Top Classic. I play a wide range of styles from contemporary pop to Hard/Heavy. I've played in small venues, and large scale out door events. I'm amazed at how tight the bright clean channel remains while the overdrive channel has a slightly tight, yet loose bottom end. I like to play live with volume at appx 45%. The only down side is this amp sucks a lot of fuel just like any high performace item. I usually retube every 9 - 12 months. If I wait 12 months I usually getting sick of it. I usually go Russia 5881's and Chinese 12ax7's which sound great if you burn them in over night, but now I'm using GT's, and Russian 12ax7 wxt+ (good bye China) .

I've owned alot of high-gain amps over the years, and anytime I've had a problem its always been tube related. The SLO is no exception. I had 2 power tubes go a few days after I got it, and the company only sent me two power tubes. I think it was very cheesy of them to only replace 2 of 4 power tubes. I had a Mesa Dual Rectifier do the same thing, and they replaced all 4 power tubes, and the preamp tubes. WOW! Soldano has a lifetime warranty on everything but tubes and transformers, but if you ever need to use it you'll have to ship it to Washington. If you ever saw the inside of a SLO you would'nt even consider letting anyone but Soldano to get within 10 yards of it with a soldering iron

I've been playing guitar for 18 years. When I first played on this amp 2 1/2 years ago I started loosing sleep at night. Tossing, and turning. Nightmares,...etc. My wife would wake me up and ask "What is wrong with you?" Finally, I knew what I had to do, I had to sacrifice my 3 amp rig to buy the one. I've slept like a baby every since.
