Not sure what year this amp was made, its a DMI era, so late 60's early 70's is likely. It's a solid state amp, one of the rarer genuine Sound City ones,(NOT the German made ones, with the red logo) saying that, its probably rare because they didn't sell many! there's two inputs, volume, Bass,Middle, and Treble (No gain!), although I think it may have the active tone controls (turn bass, mid, treble to zero, you can turn volume to 10, and no sound can be heard). Single channel, no effects loop or headphone jack, I only use it in the bedroom for practise fed by a v-amp2, or pod. I think it's 30 watts output, plenty loud enough for me! see http://home.earthlink.net/%7Eiktoblikto_1/photo_page_4.htm#pro_artiste_30_1.1

Currently using Epi Les Paul Standard with Rio Grande BBQ in bridge, standard neck pickup, When I first got it, it needed servicing (there was a lot of hum/hiss), now it's pretty much silent. It gives a very decent clean sound, to which I can add drive or distortion and other effects as much as I please, not had it up high yet (I'll wait while the neighbours go out) It doesn't really distort at the levels I've had it at. It does what I need it for, nothing fancy, nothing extra.

It needed some transistors changing when I got it, and a dry joint soldering, but for 30+ years old I don't think that's bad, the cabinets very solid ply, tolex well stuck (basketweave pattern)overall pretty well made.

Been playing around twenty years on and off, have a little Yamaha practise amp which I hate.
If it were stolen I would probably have difficulty getting another,(I've not seen one advertised before or since, but yes I'd have one, I just love the retro look and feel, even though its solid state its got character, if it was a valve amp in the same cab I'd give it a 10+
