68. Basic controls which were typical for the day.Well ahead of its time in certain respects- variable voltage, variable speaker loading and reduced power.Rating is for the period.

Typicall British Amp of the 60's. Equal to Marshall and basically Hiwatt [designed by same person]. USA amps of this period generally clean [still hankering for the 50's]whilst the British Amps were dirty for rock [US caught on in the 70's].

Goes on and on and on unlike some of the over hyped later day stuff.

Long since gone as a Company but pretty basic technology so if the need arises then any competent repairer will have no problems.
Overall Rating

Equal to Orange and Marshall. Same as Hiwatt cos that's what it basically is. Wrong to compare to the Messies and Soldano's cos they merely expanded upon a theme some 20 years later.

I bought this amp from my friend, who bought it from Fanthorpes in Hull, UK.
Apparently, it was supposedly made for Rod Argent of Argent. It has two 100Watt amps shoe-horned into one with 4 spkr outputs. It does not switch on unless two cabinets are connected.
Sound City gear is not expensive in the UK. It sounds good, but is not Marshall, Fender or Mesa Boogie
