An simple concept, with only bass, mid, treble, pressence, master and volume knobs.
Don't need a eq in this one and also no compressor, pure tube tone.
Also choice in a high and a low input.
The high give more drive, but the low is deeper en more raw.
A 16, 8 and 4 ohm speaker output
I have mine customized with 2- 4ohm and 1-8ohm
and it have a send but now return.
Because of that i give it an 8.
I don't need a return for my setup, how ever some need a return.

Sound Quality : 10
This is the warmest sounding amp I own.
It works with guitar also.
It is almost simular like the bassman 100.
Only this one have controle in the mids and presence.
Don't try to give it to mutch bass, it can be muddy if you do that.
I turn the bass about nine o clock.
It also have that little drive, in the high input.
And mine love's distortion pedals.

Reliability : 10
I think this sovtek is great build
I have a mig 100 guitar top also, it looks simular to the bassov, and that one survived a fall from a marshal 4x12 cab.
Nothing was broke.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Can't tell, I never made contact with them.

Overall Rating : 10
One of the best bass/guitarambs that I hear.
Perfect if you need a bassamp and a guitaramp in one.
On this moment I play an epiphone baritone guitar with this Sovtek
Great combination for that low tune style i play.
For drive i use a Boss HM2, or a DS1 or a Coron distotion 15.
I use it with recording and live.
I also own 2 mig 100 guitarheads and a marshall superbass jmp 100 and a few gibson guitars.
The marshall is a bit louder, but the Bassov is mutch warmer.

THIS AMP CRANKS I thin it is rated too conservatively. The Mig 100B is a single channel with high & low gain inputs, line-out and taps for 4, 8, 16 ohm cabinets. Presence, Bass, Mid, Treble, Master and Volume controls. 4 5881 in the amp stage. The transformers are beefy and heavy! Input voltage sources are 100V, 120V, 230V and 240Volts switch selectable. Awesome amp...my pride and joy!

Sound Quality : 10
This amp cranks! Even at my low B! This amp makes my Hartke 410 sound sweet. This is a great sounding Russian bass amp...excellent tone! This amp is very clean.

Reliability : 10
This amp is a tank! I have had this amp for almost one year, and it hasn't flinched yet. I use this amp on live gigs, and I can rest assure that I will get that sweet sound every time!

Customer Support : 9
I havn't had to call Sovtek yet (I rest my case), but I hear that they are great when it comes to customer support

Overall Rating : 10
Best 400 dollars that I have ever spent! I wish I could get my hands on another one of these amps just for keepsake!

This is an update to my previous evaluation

Reliability : 5
In the six months that I have owned this amp, it has twice visited the Sovtek repair facility at New Sensor Corp. Each time the main amplifiers tubes were replaced. If your amp has Sovtek 5881/6L6WGC tubes installed, I suspect your are in for trouble. These tubes SUCK!!!!. These tubes have a very short life in my Mig 100B, less than 30 hours of use. During the second repair, my amp was retubed with Sovtek 5881WXT tubes. These "power" or "output" tubes have held up for over 100 hours of use and still sound great. My choice for "output" tubes in the future will be either the Tesla 5881 or Svetlana 6L6GC. The Svetlana have a little less output or gain than the Tesla brand. Overall, I still like this amp a lot, it has a great tone! With the addition of an Ampeg SVT PRO Preamp to my bass rig, I have all the features I could ever want and a fat deep sound!

This amp is rated a very conservative 100 watts - it cranks. The Mig 100B is a single channel with high & low gain inputs, line-out and taps for 4, 8, 16 ohm cabinets. Presence, Bass, Mid, Treble, Master and Volume controls. The pre-amp section is tubed with three 12ax7s with four 5881 in the amp stage. The transformers are huge and heavy! Input voltage soucese are 100V,120V, 230V and 240Volts switch selectable. My only request would be to add an effects loop in the future(hence the 8 rating). However, at the price I paid I am NOT complaining. Solid basic stuff here.

This amp cranks, even at low B! My Peavy 8x10 and home built 4x12 cabinets never sounded this good with an amp this inexpensive. The Russians did a great job with this amp design. The design reminds me of an old Bassman Tweed. But hey, Sovtek did it right!! Fender, are you listening?? This amp is CLEAN. Be sure you have a grounded 110 V wall recepticle or ele it gets a bit noisy. The high gain 'overdrive' is fat and sweet! My basses are an Ibanez ATK305 and a very old Peavy Foundation.

I have had the amp for 1 month. The power transformer had some LITE surface rust on the core. Called up Sovtek who told me to send it in for repair. I chose to fix it myself by lightly sanding off the rust with 400 grit wet/DRY and painted it with some rustoleum. Sovtek sold me a replacement/spare transformer through my dealer for $25.00. Again, Fender; are you listening!! The power/standby swithes are metal, unlike the earlier Mig 100's. These folk do listen to their customers. The plactic jacks havn't given me any trouble(yet).

Customer Support : 10
One call - a $25.00 transformer - You can do the cosmetics and keep your warranty - all less than it would have cost me for shipping - give me a break. These folk are fantastic!! Hey Fender, aw forget it!!

Overall Rating : 10
This thing is built like a tank! Great sound, fantastis customer support! Hey Otto, I owe you one!!
