Speedster Deluxe 25W head with cabinet, black tolex, made in 2004.

This amp is very versatile, in combination with a few pedals I can get all the sounds i need for playing a wide range of rock covers & blues standards. I can get everything from clean clear tones, to great overdrive & distortion.
I use this amp for live music & rehearsal. It has plenty of power for me. The amp is suprisingly loud & clear.
One feature i wish it had is a built in groove tube EMII so i can play in my home office studio & not wake up the everyone at home.
Other good features:
It is fairly small & lightweight, you won't break your back carrying it around.
It looks nice!

I use 3 guitars with this amp, PRS singlecut, custom 22 & Santana III. Each guitar sounds distinctive thru the amp. I primarily play rock & blues.
There is no noise, except the noise i introduce via my pedalboard. It is a good test to make sure all the connectors are good.
This is the first amp i've been able to play in a live setting that everyone can hear & the amp is not turned up loud. It can be very loud, but it isn't required. The big difference with this amp is that you hear the texture & tone of your guitar & pedals. When I did a direct comparision of the speedster & my other amps, the other amps sound blurry & flat.

I would completely depend on this amp.

I haven't had the need for any customer support, but if i did i have no doubt the support would be excellent.

I've been playing for several years & have been experimenting with different gear. I've experimented with digital modellers & played with various amp heads & cabinets - often very dissatified with the tone of the guitar & how it came out in the mix during live settings.
This amp blew me away with how much of my guitar i could actually hear compared to my other amps. This amp comes right thru in a live setting, finally i'm happy with my sounds.
When i first took the speedster to rehearsal, after the first couple songs the rest of the band looked at me with smiles on their faces saying how good it sounded.
If this were stolen or lost, i'd immediatly buy a new one, exact same model.

Soldano made head with two input jacks (high and low), Power switch and Standby switch, Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass and Reverb and Bias adjustment (with big meter on the front panel) No Master Volume. Aside from lack of master volume there is nothing I miss. Everything is there. 25W head with 1 X 12 inch speaker housed in matching Screaming Yellow (slightly metallic finish) and the front panel is turned aluminum that looks like an old Bugatti dahsboard - especiall with that giant meter in the center.
The early chassis were hand signed by Soldano as was mine, Serial # 44.

The most amazing clean sounds you can imagine. This thing is LOUD no two ways about it. I bought a THD Hot Plate (16 ohm) so I could pot down the volume while still taking advantage of the amps distortion. The tone controls are about the most sensitive I have ever used - they change the characteristics enormously. The bias knob is supposed to change the sound thickening it or thinning it but I have not been able to discern a difference. I love the way this amp sounds!
The only disconcerting aspect to the sound is a hum which is apparently a characteristic of all of these particular amps, that aside - I love this amp.

I cannot attest to the reliability, but the amp looks to be built extremely well. The chassis and components appear to be first rate and I trust this thing will go like the Everyready bunny. I had it shipped cross country, plugged it in and it worked flawlessly. Not tempermental in the slightest.

Even though Soldano did not make the cabinet (or own Speedster for that matter) Soldano did make the amp itself and I have called to ask questtions and they have been most helpful. They even offered to install a master volume for $150 plus shipping each way which I thought was most reasonable. I think I will stick with the Hot Plate and keep the amp pristine and stock.

I have been playing for nearly 35 years. I also own a Carr Mercury, Mesa/Boogie Nomad 45, Ashdown Radiator 2 and Ashdown Bass Amp. At 25 Watts, this amp is midway in power compared to my other amps but certainly as loud as any of them. I love the way it looks (even non-players drool when they see it). I love thhe way it sounds. I would cry if anything happened to it because replacing it would be near impossible.
