play custom one off Koll single coil prototype with extended scale for alternate tunings
Standel has a very clean and articulate tone for blues, country, finger slide picking, and jazz, it picks soft nuances and right hand techniques to help accent the mood of a piece. I've played and recorded through various cabinets, this amp comes through any mix without distorting, although the 50 watt can push some speakers to their limit, it rarely gets past 3. I use little to no effects, I did demo a live pedal rack and was pleasantly surprised at the results, still that's not me, I am simply listening for the most organic tube and wood tone.

this amp is one of the soundest builds I've ever seen. I have been through a lot of gear, this is a labor of love and it shows, I was stunned with the inner works it's flawless. I don't push my gear neglectfully hard and have rarely experienced the need to repair anything other than changing tubes and light maintenance. ten for attention to detail of the utmost quality.

I have been playing since age 11. I have owned an armada of gear that changed according to who I was trying to emulate at the time, Hendrix, Page, J Beck in the earlier days, to jazz fusion and McLaughlin, DiMeola, Abercrombie, to country J Donahue, Jr Brown, to classical Parkening, Segovia, boyd. now my gear is very simplified, though, I still own several guitars, I have let go of all my amps, latest having been, victoria 45410, 80212, 5112 and regal II, diezel vh4s, matchless lightning, clark beaufort and an evans fet 500, a partial list. I wish I had known Standel long ago, since this is the sound I've always listened for. I am planning to work on further projects with Danny and am presently trying to assemble the most efficient
speaker configurations.
