Star Amplifiers Serious Reverb Head

2006 model , 2 channels , all hand wired point to point wiring , pure class A 30 watts, very loud ,but unreal

First i have to say to all you hotcat users out there you must get out and try this amplifer there isn't many around but it's another class above the hotcats more warmth and more tube sounding especially on the gain channel side by side with a hotcat the cat sounds artificial compared to the star and i already own two hotcats
, i'm considering now if i need to keep the cats , Mark sampson is the greatest amp builder around and how wrong can you go purchasing a amplifer designed and made by him, The clean channel is second to none and reverb is the best ever so warm and amazingly clear and gain channel is what makes this baby rock, so fat warm and yet still bright but not harsh bright more clear in attack instead ear piercing, from pop to metal it covers it with ease and the best thing is it's channel switching and has the best best sounding effects loop and for those who belive effects loops kill the tone the star dosen't at all, it;s the properly the only head on the market that i will ever want to purchase again, like i said pricey but well worth it

Only had it for 3 months but i can't see it needing any attention anytime soon, built like a solid tank, weighs quiet a bit too

Been playing guitar for 13 years now and have always been frustrated with sounds of amplifiers on the market , i mean i have played amps that were okay to keep me occupied without finding to many negative opnions about them , but finally mark sampson again has delivered the best amp i have ever had the joy to play, i know i haven't giving it any negative points but there just isn't any, you owe it to your self to purcahse or atleast try out a star amplifer

THIS IS A NEW STAR SERIOUS REVERB HEAD AND MATCHING CAB[2/12]IN SPARKLE SILVER!!!!!!!.I PURCHASED THIS FROM WWW.KILLERVINTAGE.COM IN ST. LOUIS MO. [ASK FOR DAVE AND TELL HIM COURTNEY SENT YA!] ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW! THE CLEAN IS THE FATTEST WARMEST CLEAN I HAVE EVER HEARD. KEEP IN MIND IT IS A 30 WATT HEAD WITH EL34'S. THE GAIN IS SO FAT AND ROUND YET STILL VERY ARTICULATE AND CLEAR BUT THE DISTORTION CAN BE BRUTAL. I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS DOING A BLUES/JAZZ STYLE ONE SONG AND SLIPKNOT THE NEXT AND IT ALL COMES FROM THIS SMALL HEAD, AMAZING! HAS THE MATCHLESS VIBE ON BOTH CHANNELS BUT TWICE THE FULLNESS OF ANY MATCHLESS I HAVE OWNED OR HEARD. IT IS A CHANNEL SWITCHING HEAD WITH AN EFFECTS LOOP BUT IT ONLY WORKS ON THE GAIN CHANNEL.WHY YOU ASK? I DON'T KNOW EITHER. THAT IS THE ONLY DRAWBACK TO THE WHOLE RIG. NEXT THE REVERB. YOU HAVE TO HEAR IT TO BELIEVE IT BUT IT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING REVERB I HAVE EVER HEARD. THERE IS NOT A UNUSABLE SETTING WITH IT. AGAIN VERY WARM AND NOT TO OVER THE TOP CRANKED UP.
FINALLY IS THE 2/12. WHY NOT THO WHOLE PACKAGE. IT IS ABOUT AN INCH OR 2 SHORTER THAN THE MATCHLESS 2'12 AND ABOUT THE SAME WIDTH BUT SOUNDS JUST AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER. [HUGE SOUND FOR A 2/12]. I WILL FINISH WITH THIS AMP HAS TO BE HEARD TO BE BELIEVED. NOT TO BRAG BUT I HAVE OWNED EVERYTHING FROM PLEXIS TO EXTACY'S TO HC-30,BADCAT,TWO ROCK, AND VH-4 AND A HERBERT, AND BY FAR THIS IS MY FAVORITE. MARK SAMPSON SHOULD BE CROWNED KING AMP MAN! MY ONLY OTHER AMP I HAVE THAT IS CLOSE TO BIENG AS IMPRESSIVE IS MY BOGNER CAVEMAN AND IT IS JUST COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SO THERE IS NO COMPARISON.

I USE A PRS MCARTY, L.P. CUSTOM, GIBSON V,STRAT. THIS AMP IS AN AWSOME EXTENSION OF EACH. TOTALLY TAKES ON THE SOUND OF THE GUITAR YET STILL SOUNDS LIKE ITSELF.[HUH?]THE CLEAN CHANNEL HAS PLENTY OF HEADROOM AND IF YOU TURN IT UP, WATCH OUT ! PLEXI WITH BALLS AT 30 WATTS! AS I SAID BEFORE THE DIST. CAN BE FROM BLUES TO SLIPKNOT WITH A TURN OF THE GAIN.[ INF..NSANE!]

TOTALLY DEPENDABLE AND IF THERE EVER WAS A PROBLEM I HAVE NO DOUBT IT WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF.

NEVER HAD TO DEAL WITH THE COMPANY. I'M SURE THE WARRANTY IS LIFETIME TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER.

BEEN PLAYING OVER 15 YEARS AND AS I SAID I HAVE OWNED PRETTY MUCH ALITTLE OF EVERYTHING ALONG THE WAY ESPESCIALLY BOUTIQUE STYLE GEAR FROM DIVIDED BY 13 TO BOGNER YOU NAME IT. BUT THIS AND MY BOGNER CAVEMAN AND MY MATCHLESS SUPERCHIEF ARE MY FAVORITES.
