Sunn T412 Cabinet - 4x GT75 Celestions. I bought this cabinet brand new in 2002 from Better Music in Canberra ACT and out of the other cabs i tried, nothing compared. This just ate the rest. The shop gave me a great deal because they couldnt sell it (no one wanted a vintage looking cabinet). The balls that this cab has is incredible. Considering that Sunn only ever made bass gear, they knew what they were doing to achieve such a great thick crispy sound.

The cabinets output is unsurpassed. Tight, Clean, clear, crisp, fat (whoaaahh i mean PHFFFat with a capital PH). I run this from a Marshall JCM DSL 2000 (100watt head) with Line6 PodXT preamp.
The low end sound can get away from you if your bass it too muchm but with a little control you can get around it.

After touring the country and overseas with AC/DC Bon Scott tribute show ACCA/DACCA and playing with many metal bands, this cab is built like its literally unbreakable, its been dropped, rained on, pushed over, drinks thrown at it, you name it but its as solid as a rock. Just the one dodgy castor too that keeps falling off when there is no weight on it.

I use a Jackson RR1 with an EMG 81 in the bridge and a Duncan Jazz in the neck.I run that through a Peavey 5150(electoharmonix power tubes).Holy Mother of Satanic F@&k!!!!, I tune to B standard , thus the 5150 (very trebley), and this cab brings me high into the mix while at the same time holding a very tight bass punch. It puts the 1960a to shame, and cleaves the Mesa standard recto cab in half(woofy low end)In a a few words , tight and balanced. It may have a vintage look but trust me it cranks out deathmetal like none other

I play guitar in Horde of Anachron, a BlackDeath band from Canada,This cab seems like an overlooked metal tone gem.
So far the best cab I've heared paired up with a 5150 yet
If I lost it , I would hunt for another, hell I may just look for another now!

here i got one of the last sunn cabs my dealer had. as already told, this is a very fat and heavy baby. silver face, casters (be careful, you could lose one...) 16ohms and parallel inputs. maybe a stereo switch could be useful but as for me, i like the parallel thing.. so no complaint... just be careful with the casters and there's nothing to worry about. heavy built, i don't think one can get this thing down...

i use a rickenbacker 650e guitar with a '76 marshall mk2 with an a/b-switch. right input less gain - 'clean' left input much gain - 'fat'.
and this runs into my sunn box where i would lie, if i wouldn't say THIS is heaven!!! compared to the sunn box, a marshall 1960A cab is like the crappiest chainsaw-sound-thing with too much of noisy highs and uuuuh-bass. the sunn definatly kicks ass with extremly thight low-end as well as punch and just great guitar sound. lots of nice mids and overall you'll get really good presence in your band. in my band we are 2 guitar players, my guitar-mate uses gibson sg @ mesa dual recto and standard marshall 1960a.. no comparison.. it sounds like metal zone if you hear compare it to the sunn sound..
i really apreciate someone, god or my mom or the blue sky above me for buying this thing (wich is now discontinued so im glad, i still got one...) Awesome!!!

if you just have it on the road, the tolex stuff will break here and there... but this is how life goes... you won't destroy this thing.. never!

hm.. if you visit www.sunnamps.com you will be taken to fender, where you can't find any information on sunn... so IF there will be any damage (which i can't imagine...) you will be on your own...
so as there is no c-s i don't give a rating...

i play this thing now for 2 and a half year and although i didn't like it in the beginning, i couldn't imagine that i ever will sell it... just plug a good tube amp into this and you'll get REAL great, pure and vivid guitar sound out of it!!

Don't know what year this was made. I bought it used on ebay. It is incredibly heavy and built like a tank. It is a 16 ohm 4x12 enclosure with 75 watt celections for a total rating of 300 watts. I do wish that you could switch between 16 and 8 ohms. The handles are metal as far as I can tell and not that cheap shit platic Marshall uses. It comes with casters, thank God but one of them on my cab falls out all the time. I'll probably just wrap a bit of Duck tape around the caster to keep in wedged in. The silver grill cloth is sharp and the cab appears very well built. I think these cabs have been discontinuned. Sunn as far as I know was bought by Fender and a change in ownership is never good for quality, if in fact the cabs are still being made.

This is one tight bottom..nudge nudge, wink wink. Seriously though, I use it with a Marshall 30th Anniverary series tube head and an SG with Dimarzio Super Distortion pickups and it sounds incredibly tight. Plenty of low end without robbing the highs. It really resonates. I used to have a Marshall VS8412 compact mono cabinet and there is absolutely no comparison. The Marshall sounded like dogshit compared to the Sunn. Don't buy Marshall just because of the name or the look.

Considering it is built like a tank, I'm sure it won't fall apart. The bum caster is the only problem I have encountered but it was like that when I got it - who knows if it was abused before me.

Sunn is no longer around and I think the cabs are discontinued so you are on your own. I can't imagine encountering any technical problems though. It's just an extension cab ffor God's sake.

I've been playing for 15 years. It's the 2nd extension cab I've owned but I have heard Marshalls, Randall's, LAB series, and more and it easily sounds as good if not better than any of them. I strictly play SG's through this things and I play agressive rock/punk. Veteran musicians are amazed at this cabinet's sound. Whish it was switchable to 8 ohms and I'd try to get another if it was ever stolen. If you want a unique cabinet that sounds unbelievable, this is it.

Great speakers! I'm a 21-yr old bass player influenced by John Entwistle, Jack Bruce, Noel Redding, Mel Schacher, etc...I also love the parallel inputs; after doing the impedance math, I've found out that I can drive up to six or eight of these things off of one Sunn 300T or Ampeg SVT.

Clean and loud. Tried it with a Sunn Model T and an old Marshall Major. These are the same speakers found in the Marshall JCM 800 enclosures, and I tried a bass through one of those also...same results (clean and loud). Given that they are guitar speakers, they are going to be a bit more limited than bass speakers.

This is the heaviest guitar 4X12 ever made! It is a 300 watt cab with celestion G-1275's rated @16 ohms. I was told that it weighed somewhere around 110 lbs. Although it may be heavy it is constructed VERY well. You can get all the low end you will ever need out of this puppy. I truly think that this is the best cab I have ever heard, and it could be used for any type of music. My only other complaint (besides the heavyness) is that it isn't stereo/ it is wired mono with paralell inputs. This is the perfect cab for people who love that vintage silver face look.

I use my Marshall jcm 2000 TSL through this cab and it sounds AMAZING!
I have to set my bass level on my overdrive @ 1 and it sounds perfect!
This cabinet is pretty much a Marshall 1960 cabinet but built to handle more low end. I compared it with band mate's marshall cab and the sunn cab is a lot thicker/crisp sounding.

Well when i first bought my cab I was in love and it was SO loud. A week later my band went into the studio and when the technian miked it, nothing was coming out of the whole right side of my cabinet! Of course I have been so busy jamming on it, I guess I never realized it. (stupid me)...So I took the cabinet apart ....and then I laughed..the manufacture forgot to hook up the other two speakers! So I hooked it up, and then I realized that I have been using a 2X12 the whole entire time I have been drooling over it. I plugged in my amp and guitar.....and.....AAAAHHH it is THE LOUDEST THING god could have created! Ever since then its worked great, now I think its very dependable.

Well If this cab were ever stolen.....First I would get real pist off, and probably SAY I would find the bastard and beat him down. But Really I would just bitch a lot and go buy another one! I love this cab to death....I just wish it wasn't so damn heavy...by the time I'm 30 I will probably have a broken back!!!!
