This is a 1960 model Supro 1690TN with a 15" Jensen, 2 channels - one with tremolo, one without tremolo. 2 6L6s in the power stage so about 30W. Classic Supro grey "rhino-hide" tolex covering mid-sized box. Reverb would make this a 10 for features.

Sound Quality : 10
I play blues and r&b, guitar straight into the amp. The sound thru' the 15" Jensen is huge and it has a great midrange bark, less sweet than a comparable Fender but more bite. The amp begins to break up at around the 12 o'clock position and gives great overdrive from that point on. The signal is never distorted you can always hear each note quite distinctly. Sound/tone is very subjective - this amp has the tone that makes me play, so it gets a 10.

Reliability : 8
Very simple electronics, just not that much to go wrong. Easy access to all the tubes and controls.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Supro went bust back in 1968/9, don't try calling them!

What a bargain! $251 plus $40 for a nice pair of 6L6s and $67 to have it serviced and a 3 prong cord added. As I said earlier, the only thing that this amp is missing is reverb. I get around this by using an Alesis Nanoverb which is OK but I'm not 100% sold on it. As a gigging amp, this is a great amp, portable but with a big sound and lots of headroom. The crunch/overdriven tone is great. If you have a chance to check out this amp, do so!
