Supro 6606 combo- made in 1966
The amp is a small single-ended Class A amp but is very versatile
There are two inputs but one channel- no frills-just tone!
The more I play thru this amp, the more I am glad that it has no frills.
I use it in my music room-home studio
3 tubes and two knobs- what could be simpler?

Sound Quality : 9
I am using single coils, humbuckers and guitars that feature both.
It is extremely touch sensitive and therefore lends itself to a variety of styles.
It is whisper quiet-even wide-open
With a mike in front of it,it can be clean and growl too!
The distortion can be quite hairy with humbuckers but I attribute some of that to caps that need to be changed and resistors too.

Reliability : 9
I do not travel with it but it seems quite well made
I do not believe that and changes/maintenance has been done to the amp since its manufacture.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Find a good tube tech or learn to work on the simple single-ended stuff yourself. The company is long gone but the schematics ared available.

Overall Rating : 10
I got this gem via trade. I had a bass guitar that the owner was interested in and we simply swapped sweethearts. I was amazed at the innards of this amp and was even more surprised to find that the reason the amp sounded so gnarly was the 8 ohm speaker. The schematic calls for a 3.2 ohm speaker. When I borrower the Weber Sig Alnico 8S out of my Vibrochamp, I nearly passed out. The tone was clean and sparkley and the growl was still there (only louder and morfe defined).
I am definitely on the lookout for more Supro amps.
I have a Gibson GA-5 tweed that I am starting to work on. I hope it grow up to sound just like this one.
Viva la Supro!!!!

I originally had got one of these little Supro amps when I was 10 years old in 1965.. I learned to play on this thing with Epiphone Olympic guitar. Once I got into high school..i traded both in for something " that I thought was "bigger and better!" BIG MISTAKE! Fast forward 36 years...I found one on Ebay! FINALLY..it wasnt all that cheap but it sounds as awesome as I remembered it to be.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I have several guitars that I use with it...a Les Paul, ES335, strat, tele, and an old Epiphone Olympic..the humbucking guitars sound the best with it but the Strat is not bad..

Reliability : No Opinion
The one I bought off ebay seems to be original from 1965 with original tubes as well..sounds great!

This little combo has a master volume and tone. The volume knob is the power switch! Also has 2 jack inputs. Runs off three tubes; one 6v6, one 12ax7, and one 5y3. This sucker is simple simple simple. 1960's at its best!

Sound Quality : 10
I stuffed an Eminence 10" speaker in mine without modding the amp at all. All I had to do was trim the speaker a little. I tell you what, this sucker sounds AWESOME!! I play through ESP guitars with EMG pickups. I can get a clean sound like no other, push the volume a little harder and get an excellent vintage distortion, or throw on my Ibanez Smash Box and play some crunchin' metal. I use this amp to record all of my stuff. I play through a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier on stage, but this Supro mics better than any amp I have ever had (I have owned almost every popular amp). All I need is my SM57 and this thing sounds better on tape than anything! This baby also has the perfect volume levels for playing without pissing off the neighbors or roomies.

Reliability : 10
Has NEVER broken down on me, and this amp almost twice my age! Tubes last for ever!

Haha. Better get a time machine.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing 15 years now. I have owned every kind of amp, including my bad ass Mesa Dual Rectifier and 50 Caliber. But this little tank serves for all my recording purposes, goes anywhere, sounds fuckin' awesome, and is impossible to break. Great to jam with or just take on vacation. I couldn't stress the worthiness of this amp enough!

Volume & tone controls. What more do you need?!

Sound Quality : 10
Humbuckers are a little muddy, but single coils sound awesome. This amp just makes me want to play, every time I plug into it. Mostly good for leads, but cleans up nicely when you lower the guitar's volume knob.

I just recently aquired this amp, so time will tell.

Support? They've been out of business for freakin' years!

As a practice amp, this is perfect. I live in a condo, and the break-up occurs at a nice soft level.

The blue with silver covering would indicate perhaps early to mid 60's
This is a 2 jack input with 1 tone control and 1 on/off volume control
3 tubes and a 8" Jenson speaker.
Not all that loud which makes for a very good practice amp.

Sound Quality : 9
Hooked up a Strat and at half volume is clean enough to play country sounds or at full volume will give you a nice southern blues sound.
With a Gibson PAF and a set of loose strings will give you a wonderfull early 70's distortion at full volume.
No buzz and no hum very nice.

Reliability : 10
This amp is fairly old and still has original tubes and sounds very good considering what it is and its design.

I have been playing for around 30 years and have been thru my share of marshalls, sunns,peaveys,carvins.etc. and like the other reviewer states this little amp will do the job for you if your not trying to do metal concerts in stadiums but if you want a good practice or dorm amp and or want to throw out an unusual sound in the studio and happen to run into one of these jems try it out you just might like it enough to tkae it home with you.
