Tried with: Parker Artist, 70s strat, "clapton blackie" strat, les paul 1960 reissue, Ibanez GB-10; Amps: boogie mk iv, THD bivalve, Fender Twin, Clarus 1r.

This cab does it all, and then some. Go buy one now! It sounds every bit as good, and even more spacious, than my high-end dedicated jazz cab; it positively screams and booms like a Marshall and sounds hands-down fuller than a Mesa.

Reliability : 9
Can't say, because I've had it briefly. It is built like a tank, though. The handle is a great feature. Aesthetically, it's one of the nicest pieces of gear I've had. I just can't imagine it's going south anytime soon.

Best reason to buy THD. Really. Seriously. EVERYONE there is extremely friendly and helpful. They take your calls, chew the fat, give out great, detailed advice and field stupid questions with grace.

If this were lost or stolen, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another -- maybe two more, to have one in reserve. It's that good. It handily replaces a handful of other equipment.

Brand new cab - probably a 2002. Semi-closed back design with two Celestion Longhorn speakers. Wiring for 8 and 16 ohm - nice!

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using this cab with a Univalve and a JB Sig Strat. I'm really thrilled with this cabinet! I've had my Univalve for about 9 months and had originally purchased a 2x12 Mesa Recto cab for it. It sounded okay, but I certainly didn't see what all the fuss was about over the Univalve. After reading a variety of reviews of the THD cab paired with the Univalve, I decided to take my guitar down to a local THD dealer and try it (with my own tubes in hand - 12AU7/5751/EL84YJ). It's astonishing how different the amp sounded - all the harsh fuzziness in the Rock channel were gone, and there was significantly more *chime* in the clean channel. Now I see what all the fuss is about...

Reliability : 8
To soon to tell, but I have a variety of other THD products that perform flawlessly.

Never had to call them, but seem to be quite responsive based on the reviews I've read.

I've been playing for about 24 years and have owned a *lot* of equipment - this is one of the best rigs I've had. Granted - I don't gig anymore, but I do record quite often in my home studio. The best thing about pairing the Univalve with the THD cab is being able to plug a Strat straight in and get a great sound - totally dry. Honestly, if you had told me 20 years ago that I'd find *tone heaven* in a 15watt amp with a 2x12 cab, I'd still be laughing - in front of my 100watt Marshall stack. Anybody want to buy a 2x12 Mesa Recifier cabinet?

This stuff is covered already. It's just a straight 2x12 capable of chaining to another cab.

Sound Quality : 7
I like to play all kinds of rock to jazz and blues. Mainly I gig hard rock and blues. It sounds spacious and "nice". If you're looking for great lead tones that are smooth or want to get a wonderful clean tone from a head. This cab is great. If you're looking for chunky, heavy rhythm with big bottom. This ain't it. The reviews can be misleading. It doesn't do the big bottom fat stuff as well as my recto 2x12. That thing is fat. This cab does much better for lead tones ala Eric Johnson and David Gilmour. Smooth, "polite" tones which are awesome. It has a tight bottom end and a smooth top end. Very nice for the right application. I have to give it a lower rating because their ads say it sounds like a 4x12 and it just doesn't. I think they could'a made the cab deeper for more lows or used thicker wood. Then this cab would be shittin' all over everything!

It's too new to tell. It looks built very well.

Very good. they found a dealer with this cab in stock for me- quick.
Very courteous and well informed. Great!

I love my old Marshall 4x12's but nowadays you don't really need that much. Plus it doesn't fit in the jeep. This is a great cab for blues, fusion or rock leads. It is a very musical cab. But, if you want giant low end fatness in a 2x12, the Mesa recto is hard to beat except of course by a good 4x12. If you want sweet, woody rhythms and leads, this is perfect! I've compared many 2x12's. It depends on what you're going for.

This is a new black tolex/tan grill cloth model with chemically aged
Celestion Classic Lead 80 speakers. I give it an 8 because it would be nice if it had a combo jack that allowed both mono and stereo operation. It is relatively lite and easy to handle. 160 watts power handling is more than enough.

Sound Quality : 10
I've used it with my Univalve and BiValve. This cab really kicks, with pleanty of bass "knock" quite comparable to a 4X12. Even the Univalve at 15 watts will easily keep up with a drummer. The sound is slightly warmer then my 2x12 with vintage 30's. It still shimmers, but is easier on the ears. I hooked a Custom Audio Amp 3+ SE and a VHT 2/90/2 to this thing and it was HUGE. The cab has alot of resonance. I've never heard this setup sound so good, and from only a 2x12. I think this cab will do ANY amp justice.

Reliability : 9
As a previous user mentioned, a dust cover would be nice. It is a very solid piece. I'm sure it could take alot of abuse, but it looks so good, I'd like to keep it looking that way. The design of the handle is very nice, makes for a one handed move no problem.

Customer Support : 9
I've e-mailed them many times with questions about many products. Always got a pleasant, informative reply within 24 hours.

Overall Rating : 9
This was a worthwhile purchase to me. Not only would I buy another if it were stolen, I am going to buy a second one anyway. If you want a 4x12 wall of sound without the hassle of lugging a monster cab around, this is the one. It's priced like a 4x12, but you are paying for quality workmanship, and pristine audio.

Late 2001 or early 2002 cab. Mine has a very funky paisley pattern covering(maroon, blue, purplish colors)-this is what initally drew me to it-very cool & sorta vintage-like. Large, well placed steel handle on top of cab. Tan, old looking grill cloth, nice. Celestion classic lead 80's inside. I think they're treated-sound very broken in, not like stiff new speakers. Ported back, maybe 2 inches or so. 2 input jacks(wired parallel-I think). Some people may prefer a stereo jack instead. Not neccessary in my current rig. Seems very sturdy and well constructed.

Sound Quality : 10
This cab WOOFS!!! It really pushes some serious air and sounds absolutely huge and very 3-dimensional. I use it w/a Univalve head, haven't tried any other amps/heads thru it. I'd suspect it'd perform just as well. Tried out Orange, Marshall 212's this blew both out of the water.

Reliability : 10
Haven't had it long, don't expect any problems, seems well built.

Customer Support : 10
I e-mailed THD only once about another product and they e-mailed back promptly the next day. Were curtious and helpful in answering my questions.

I've owned a dozen cabs, mostly 4x12s. Wanted to downsize my rig. I would recommend this cab to anyone. It is also pretty lightweight. I don't miss anything about using 4x12s at all(sound, size, weight), this 212 easily get's the job done and sounds absolutely amazing! Try one, buy one-you won't be sorry.

Mine has celestion 70 watt longhorn speakers 2x12. This cabinet sounds moocho groovey with all the heads and guitars I use it with. Nice and light weight, plenty of volume.

Cabinet was made in 2001. It's a 2x12 cabinet. It has 2 Celestion classic 80 speakers that are modified for THD. It is an 8 OHM cab utilizing a bass-reflex design. The cabinet is covered in black tolex and has a nice vintage looking cream colored grill cloth and a very sturdy metal handle.

Sound Quality : 10
Amps that were used through this cabinet are as follows: THD Univalve,Rivera M100, Fender Blackface Deluxe Reverb and 66 Bassman, 1960's VOX AC30 and VOX Berkley and Dr.Z 18 watt amp. Every amp sounded great through this cabinet. This cabinet bridges the gap between a 4x12 and an open back. I had previously used a 112 and couldn't get over the difference. The THD cabinet sounds much punchier, more open and creates more volume without being harsh.

Reliability : 9
The cabinet is very well made and since the rms rating exceeds the wattage of all my amps I don't expect a problem. However, I wish THD provided a slip cover to keep it from being scratched in transit.

Customer Support : 10
Have not had to deal with the company for this product but have dealt with them in the past and they've always been helpful.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for close to 30 years and play professionally. I had wanted to use a 4x12 for some time but felt transporting it to be too much trouble. I previously tried another 2x12 cabinet and was disappointed. I'm very pleased with the results of this and would definately replace it if were lost or stolen.
