I just received this amp three days ago, and was compelled to write a review. The band I am in plays hard rock, and this amp is perfect for that task. As far as features go...well I've had a few amps with channel switching, headphones out, half power etc., but found I never used those things much... so that is what brought me to the Tatoo. This is a no frills amp...basically a "Rock Monster". I would say that hand wiring, custom transformers, aluminum chassis with welded corners, enhanced tone shaping controls, and attention to detail are definitely the "features" of this amp. No it doesn't have alot of frills, but it has what I need...TONE to the BONE. As far as volume goes...I was very suprised that with the gain up half way or better, I could not get the volume past 9:00. As someone else stated, it is louder than all of the fifty and hundred watters I have owned.

I spent last night trying both single coil, and humbucker styled guitars through this amp. With the enhanced tone controls...you have a lot of different possibilities. I plugged straight into the amp with both guitars...just guitar>cord>amp...I stood back 20' away and went back and forth tweaking away. As I dialed in the settings I liked, I wrote them down. This should give me a starting place for practicing with the band on Friday. (I plan on updating this review after I have played in a band/live gig situation). With the single coils I was able to pretty much nail the SRV tone, but also can get a very nice clean tone. With the humbuckers I can get anything from clean to all out massive gain. With the gain up very high, there is a little noise, but less than other amps for which I have payed twice the amount. With just a twist of your guitar's volume control...it will go from slightly overdriven to singing sustain. All in all I'd say the Flash 50 will get just about any rock soundo (obviously this is not a country or jazz amp)you are looking for with the Flash 50. I'm really looking forward to band practice to see how well it cuts through...and how my bandmates like it.

I honestly can't speak to the reliablility of this amp, as I've had it less than a week. I never go to a paying gig without a backup...ever.

As I said previously, I haven't had the Flash 50 long enough to ever have dealt with any kind of problem. As I was deciding whether to buy this amp or not, I called and emailed Tommy a number of times...I wanted to make sure this amp had enough gain on tap, and Tommy graciously agreed to crank it up in his garage, with me listening on the phone...pretty good service eh? The amp has a lifetime warranty, and from talking with Tommy, I don't feel I would ever have a problem with getting him to repair the amp if needed. I am talking with Tommy now about getting another amp built...a little different flavor this time...probably a deluxe type.

I have been playing for forty years...since I was eight years old (thanks to the Beatles). I have owned a lot of gear over the years, and have always loved glowing tubes...I have never owned a solid-state amp. This amp is the right tool for the job...and suits the music I am currently playing very well. It is certainly one of the best values in an amp of this caliber, and is easily worth much more than I paid. I would not change a thing about this amp, as I knew exactly what I wanted prior to ordering. If your interested in a high quality tube amp, give Tommy a call, you won't be disapointed.

One channel 50 Watts into 4,8,16 ohms. Gain, Volume, Bass, Middle, Slope, Treble, Presense, and Resonance control knobs. Uses 2 EL34 and 3 12ax7 tubes. It can cover any style of music from clean pickin to full out metal. This amp is as loud if not louder sounding than any 100 watt tube amp I have owned. I give it an eight only cause its just a one channel amp and it does not have a fx loop. If it had both of those it would get a perfect 10.

I have alot of guitars all with EMG and Seynour Duncan pickups. I play in a metal band and I love its super high gain tones. The gain is very tight and articulate. Very tight bass that never gets flubby or muddy. The super smooth leads are just amazing and cut through the mix like a hot nife through butter. This amp gets so loud that my drummer cant hear his drums over the amp with the volume half way up. The coolest thing is the slope control that moves the mid point of the tone from high mids to low mids and anywhere inbatween. I am one of those guys that are always wanting a new amp but not scence I got the tatoo. I have loved it from the time I turned it on.

Tom at tatoo amps will do anything in his power to keep you happy and to keep the amp running. If anything breaks or stops working which is unlikely he will fix it for free with no questions asked. He is very easy to talk to and very fast at answering any questions with full detail.

I have been playing for a long time and have never been as happy with any other amps(Marshall,Mesa Boogie) as I am with the Flash 50. Everything about the amp and the company is wonderful. If it were stolen I would buy it again in a heartbeat

Its only a one channel amp but very versatile. I can get any sound I want from clean to very high gain. It has a resonance and slope knob that really effect the tone. The slope changes the mid freq. from high mid (marshall) to low mid (rectifer).its only fifty watts but is much louder than my 100 watt Mesa Boogie and Marshalls I have owned. This tube amp is nothing but pure tone and can do anything I could ever want.

I use Gibson Les Pauls and Ibanez Rg guitars with Emg ane Seymour Duncan pickups. I play very heavy music and this suits my need very well. Its a super quit amp with very minamal hising or hums. Like I said this amp can do it all from clean to metal. There is no true clean channel but lower the gain on the amp and lower you guitar volume and it gets super clean. Whith the gain all the way up you can get very heavy rock tones. I play extrem metal so I use a Boss sd-1 to boost it up to my needs. This amp has super tight bass that is very clear. I can hear every note I play no matter how high I have the gain set. This amp cuts through the mix like no other with a great lead tone.

I haave been playing for six years now and I have owned Marshalls,Mesa Boogies, peavey 5150. and Crate blue voodoo and this amp kills them all. The tatoo can do anything I want it to and with the best tone if have ever came across.
