Using a Fender MIM Deluxe Player Strat with vinage noiseless pickups in neck and middle and a SD little 59 in the bridge. Treble bleed mod on volume control. Guitar plugged straight into amp with Klotz Titanium lead. TC Electronic Vintage Tremolo in effects loop and switched remotely with amp footswitch.

Playing mainly blues, rock and gospel - In a local band, at church and for recording projects.

Clean channel - Wow! As many others have said, the clean channel is a thing of beauty. I shimmers and shines but has enough width to make single note work a real joy. I run the drive at 2 o clock, the mids at 10 o clock and the volume between 10 and 12'oclock. The global reverb is on 9 o'clock, the treble is at 2 o'clock and the bass is at 12. The bite button is not engaged.

OD channel - This one took a bit longer. People have been quick to criticise this channel and I nearly did the same but I was convinced that there were excellent OD sounds in this amp (as this is what the sansamp stuff is prized for) so I persevered. I was getting rid of another amp around the time I bought this and thought I would try the Eminence Red White and Blues speaker from that amp (as it has nice smooth mids and a warm top end). This made all the difference. By using the master treble control to get some top end cut for the clean channel (rather than using the bite button), I was able to balance out the character of the 2 channels perfectly; almost the same sound but more angry. With the drive set to 1o'clock, the mids set to 1 o'clock and the volume between 10 and 12 o'clock everything matched up nicely and I was presented with a wonderfully responsive OD sound that can go from warm blues to defined chords to saturated rock tones with the flick of a pickup selector. I really feel that the speaker change and using the global tone controls to balance the channels has paid dividends. As with any 2 channel amp that share controls, it is a bit of a compromise, but I amp still enjoying the best tone I have ever had.

I am not convinced that Tech 21 have got it right in the manual. This is not an amp which emulates other, well known models, it has its own distinctive charater. The clean channel is somewhere between Fender and Vox, while the OD channel is a bit like crossing an early boogie (modded Fender) with an AC30. I think this comes down to the midrange character of the amp - balanced but not boring.

Boost works as it should - good volume boost to help you cut through for solos. Excellent feature.

Reverb is better than on most modern Fender amps and means that I can get away with not using a delay pedal.

Dont like the sound of the XLR output. Sounds fizzy. Doesn't bother me as I would rather use an SM57 so that I get the sound of the Eminence speaker too.

Tried it with pedals in front of the amp and really didnt like it. Nothing to do with true bypass, etc. Just sounded less good. Guitar, Klotz lead, amp is a winning combination.

One other thing - I tried out a little tip I heard that SRV used to use to get better dispersal of sound. By taking the baffle off and putting a cross of gaffer tape across the centre of its inside face. You now get much better treble response over a wider area. This has also helped to sweeten the overal sound when just relying on the amps power for sound.

With these mods I would give this amp an 8 out of 10. 10 being the Two Rock, Bogner and Cornford amps of this world. Yes, I am that happy with the sound I am getting. And so, it would appear, are the paying public.

Seems very reliabe.

Have had to clean the jack sockets a few times but that is just general maintainance - the effects loop can make the volume fluctuate if it gets dust build up. Doesnt affect the amp when it is bypassed. A good clean with contact cleaner rectified the problem.

Having used Fender, Marshall, Trace Elliot and Vox amps in the past, I have found 'my sound' using an amp I nearly didn't look at in the shop.

Swap the speaker out, ignore the bite and weep buttons, be creaful with the global eq and this amp will reward you time and time again.

We all know the features by now and if not, check the website for the most accurate description.

SPEAKER OUT
I like it when an amp company incorporates a speaker out jack. It saves me from installing a shunting jack between the speaker and amp. I do this with all my amps because it offers so much flexibility in the way of being able to play thru different cabs. Plugging my 4x12 into this amp changed everything in a great way. The Boogie cab obviously handled everything the TM-60 threw at it and I am very pleased with this result. The same positive result was present when I plugged it into my JBL and 2x12 cab???s. Plugging in an extension speaker disables the internal speaker.

CHANNEL 1
Channel 1 can dial in convincing Fendery cleans to some very nice variations of distortions. Very versatile channel considering it can go from chimy clean to crunchy rock distortions. The ???BITE??? button may at first sound too bold for some ears such as mine but with a little bit of tweaking you should be able to find a sound to your liking. Drive is at 12 o???clock and the Punch is at 9 o???clock. This setting allows me to get nice clean sounds when playing softly but roars to life with scruchy overdrive when smacking the strings???very nice!

CHANNEL 2
Channel 2 is where I spend most of my time and is always a little dirty even with the drive all the way down. Very nice tones which range from Vox to Marshall to Mesa. This channel puts me in a place a rarely get to go???you know???that place where you can just sit there all day and go ???CHUGGA-CHUGGA-CHUGGA. The versatility of this channel is bar none. It is very tweakable as are the rest of
the controls and I have to say this channel will probably satisfy just about anyone. This channel also has a ???WEEP??? button and I really anticipated notes dancing and singing with this feature. But for me, all I got was a washed out tone with undefined bass notes and not enough bell like tones.
Too compressed for my liking so it stays in the out position.
Drive is at the 2 o???clock position and Growl is at the 3 o???clock position. If you want metal, Growl and Drive should be all the way up; some players may want to put an EQ in the signal path and notch down the Mids.

The Boost switch works just great. It can give you up to 9 db in boosted volume. Mine is at the 12 o???clock position. I wish there was a way to add a little more distortion/overdrive when using the boost for leads to get that ???singing??? effect. There is not a whole lot of room for another knob so maybe a stacked pot; the bottom portion for volume and the top for added distortion...just an idea.

REVERB
I am not big on Reverb so it is not fair for me to comment on it although it has the industry standard Accutronics tank. You can link the Reverb to the Boost so that when you step on the Boost button both the Boost and Reverb come on. If you do not link it, then Reverb is the same on both channels.

XLR
The XLR out is based on the Sans Amp and I have to admit it is truly the most accurate direct out of any amp I have ever played. Plugged straight into the mixer / PA and I was knocked out by the quality and accuracy of the sound reproduction.
Same is said for recording directly onto my BOSS BR-900CD.
Tech 21 nailed this feature in every way.
I then linked it to my Tech 21 Power Engine 60 via the XLR???s and was again completely knocked out by the added tone and volume. This is certainly the solution if you need more volume and plus the active EQ on the Power Engine should give you what you are looking for.

EFFECTS LOOP
The Effects Loop had a moderate amount of hum with a slight drop in volume when activated. I thought something may be wrong with the amp but Lloyd at Tech 21 suggested it may be a ground loop or a

I knew when I bought this amp that it wouldn???t do everything but for the bucks it does one hell of a lot of things and mighty good at it too. It is an analog solid state amp but will certainly fool many tube purists. If I had any suggestions for the good folks at Tech 21, it would be this amp with a mid range control, controllable distortion with the boost, a better speaker and digital effects???but that would probably drive it into the $1000.00 range and from I hear, the 75 watt Peavey Vypyr, which does oodles of everything, is a real steal of a deal at $300.00 US.

If lost or stolen I would definitely be hunting for the 2x12 version.

My foot switch is the newer type with the buttons spaced nicely apart.

I have been playing 30+ years and after buying so many overly rated products, it is so nice to hit a winner like this amp. Although this amp can sound great, I have to tell you what I do that makes the sound and tone I am looking for. I patch a Peavey TG Raxx (set up clean) thru the EFX Loop. Plus I slave out to a Tech 21 Power Engine which is feeding into my Mesa 4x12.
Conclusion???this is by far the best sound, best tone and best tube like response I have ever heard. I have been chasing this sound in my head for decades and I think I have found it. It is louder than my Mark III with the only thing missing being the Simul-Class tone. Now I have a Full Tight Bottom, Crispy Mids, and Nice Biting Highs without harshness or shrillness. With the EQ???s of these 2 amps, you can dial in ANYTHING!!! I had it so loud that my neighbor called to ask me to turn down because; ???You Are Shaking My House??????and I live in a neighborhood of detached houses???

So too sum it all up, I would say apart from what I think is a just adequate speaker, the lack of mid range and an adjustable distortion for the boost, this amp still has much to offer.
Tech 21 has certainly hit a winner here with a Toneful, Tweakable, Flexible, loud enough for practice and gigs, (Especially with an external cab or Tech 21???s PW60), and it???s Lightweight with Solid Construction.

2 channel amp with footswitchable and linkable Reverb/Boost, an Effects Loop, a 3-Button Footswitch for Boost/Reverb, Channel Select and Effects Loop, a Headphones Jack, an XLR output based on the Tech 21 Sans Amp and an 8 ohm speaker out jack. Bass, Treble (shared by Channel 1 and 2),
Growl (Channel 2) and Punch (Channel 1) are all active.

I first played this model with the Celestion 70/80 speaker at a music store about 4 years ago and I was simply floored with the tube like tone response and the sheer volume of such a small amp.
I played for just a few moments but long enough to convince myself that I would like this amp in my family???but $800.00 is way out of my price range.
Having the patience of Job, I finally landed this one for $200.00 after 4 years of searching EBay.
An EQ in the EFX Loop will easily aid anyone wanting to tweak the Mids.

From the Send of the Line 6 I have installed a ???Y??? cord to accommodate the PV TG Raxx and to send a signal to Channel 1 on the Tech 21 amp which is feeding my 2x12. Keep the Drive below the 12 o???clock position otherwise it distorts too much. I then Slave out to the Tech 21 Power Engine 60 which is feeding into my Mesa 4x12.

This one is an older one... I would guess about six years old.it has the old eminence speaker.
The amp has a few nicks and was dirty but the grill is excellent and overall its in good condition.

my wife insisted on buying me something for my birthday and what I really needed was a new guitar as I am down to just a cheap tele copy and a superchamp xd for equipment.

She gave me a hundred and fifty bucks to spend but
as everyone knows its pretty hard to find a good guitar for that price.
I went out looking and the last place I looked had this amp setting in the back area. I knew what it was the second I saw it and also knew what they cost new.
The pawns around here are famous for asking almost retail on their Items.
However they were only wanting 159.00 for this amp and knowing what it was and its cost, I was shocked.
I tried it out and offered 125.00 and they took the money and ran. I took the amp and ran as I had been wanting one of these quite awhile.

Well this amp sounds almost as good{very close} as my superchamp XD that has upgraded tubes and a Ragin Cajun Speaker installed.
It is loud and can imitate it and get very close even with the cheap speaker. it just sounds deeper because its a 12".
As everyone says, the first Channel is excellent for Jazz and blackface clean. it also does the older fender deluxe types of sounds on the clean channel.
I like the OD channel and Believe it can be improved with a new speaker. the one that is in it sounds good and reminds me of the eminence legend 125 series speakers but you can tell its not the upper quality of the new redcoat and patriot line of speaker.
I have narrowed it down to either a wizard or a Jensen C12K or maybe even one of the Jensen neodynes.

I don't know its history but from all appearances its been in the battle for quite a while and its still going strong.
can I depend on it? if talking about a guitar I usually laugh at this question but I have had amps go bad in the blink of an eye. so I would always bring a backup.

I have been playing over thirty years and have owned a good amount of amps. some old and some new, some cheap and some expensive. most were tube amps.
From fender to Rivera to Magnatone to Rickenbacker to Peavey and others.
I have compared this amp with my SCXD and I love my SCXD, it is simply a great sounding little amp.
I consider this TM60 one of the best deals I ever got on an amp and a very high quality, good sounding, versatile amp... that will be much better with a great speaker.
I have not seen a production amp that could not be made better, with the right tubes and speaker.
I play several styles from country to jazz on it.

It's actually very versatile and can go from clean jazz to metal.

I use this with both les pauls and strats. I play mostly rock and heavy rock. I love the clean channel. It has a nice spank to it and takes to pedals really well. I use dirt boxes on the clean channel for my distortion sound, either a fulltone ocd (AWESOME!!) or a EX pocket metal muff. I don't like the dirty channel. I think it sounds way too harsh and sort of fake. It has this weird fizz that I can't dial out? I just don't like this channel. I've tried to like it, for a long time. I used eq's and still, fizz. I like the clean channel with a pedal a lot. It has a singing quality to it that I'd have to liken to a fender. I wish they made a single channel version of this amp? It kills me that there's a whole other channel in my amp that I don't like and don't use.

It's solid state, but I still have little bouts of WTF? with this amp. One day i discovered some of the pots were mysteriously scratchy? I cover the amp so I don't know what thats about? At one point my signal was cutting in and out? I called tech 21 and they told me to spray the effects loop. It did work, but from time to time I'll get a strange static sound. For the most part, it seems pretty solid but the signal cutting out worries me.

These guys are great! They answer emails promptly and stay on the phone with you when you call without being condecending.

I'll give this amp a 7, because I love the clean channel and with my pedals, I get the exact sound I want. If it were lost or stolen, I'd probably try and save up for a mesa boogie combo, a rectoverb or a tremoverb.

Very usefull and well though out design. It features 2 channels, a switchable effects loop, 9db boost switch, nice accusonics reverb, a sans amp balanced out...WITH a ground lift, and a surprising array of tonalities.

First off I'm not your normal guitarist. I like an "out of the vocalists way" insane dark tone leaving room for the lead guitarist's usual midrange rich tones. Jazz full bodied clean and a couple of vary dark and heavy distortions that sit between the bass and lead vocal. In it's stock form this amp will really fool you into thinking it's a tube amp. So far it's the best all around small gigging amp I've found. It has a very strong commanding presence for a little box. It's not brutal in distortion mode but rather early marshally.
The bite control on ch1 is actually quite nice as I run with it off however for blues stuff or a fender kick it works well.
The weep control does give it a voxy class A tone and breakup.
Like others here I was not too crazy about ch2 however, when running the sans amp to a big poweramp and a studio monitor it sounded much better. So I started comparing speakers. Unless you want a much brighter or darker tone, the original speaker is fine.
I wound up using a Madison Warrior 12 as it's dark tone reflected more of the lower registers coming out of the sans amp output.
The darker speaker gives it more of a triple rectifier w 2x 4x12 tone as well which suits my timbre requirements.
It's loud enough to gig with however I now have a matching self-powered, warrior loaded 2x12 that sits under it as darker tones require a little more power. For rehearsal I use only the Trademark 60 itself. It takes boxes in front of it quite well.

Since it's not tubes, I would gig without a backup. I do carry a TRI-AC anyway so there is a backup available. You can use the tri-ac in the effects loop return (A/b the amp/tri inputs)for additional tones or probably cram a second guitarist into it if you had to.
I'm purchasing a second one to leave stock for guests to use.

These guys are awesome, peroid.

If it were stolen, Id buy another.

In front of it are the following: Tuner, Clapton pedal, Option 5 overdrive, Bitmo modded VT999, Modded deathmetal, acoustic sim, DDL pedal, Artec Analog delay, a/b switch to amp in and Tri-tri ac.
I'll be replacing one or two pedals with a Slow Century.
Occasionally I use a virtualizer pro and tube pre in the effects loop.
Usually fed by ESP F-100's loaded with emg-81's and drop tuned.
Occassionly fed by stock fender Strat.

I'd like a little more tone adjustment available for ch2 or a ch2 only insert as well as the standard insert. This way one could add an outboard eq or other ch2 only effects.
Once you get used to it It's pretty darn good, especially when you consider tube maintenance costs.


I do live sound and have heard practically every rig there is and played through many of them. This is probably the best "go to" 1x12 combo I've come across other than the old tube Carvins.

This amp gets many great tones from Fendery Clean to Marshall crunch, to flat out lead tones with great harmonics and sustain. It has tons of tonal options that are easily accessible.

I'm used to tube amps, and can't stand digital modeling amps. This amp sits somewhere in-between. It is not a tube amp, but it does sound very tubey. I use this for gigs when I don't want to lug my Fender Super Reverb. The quality of tone does not match my Super, but at 1/4 the weight, it's great for Jazz and GB gigs; believe me that the audience will never know the difference. It has none of the ugly digital artifacts that the Line6 and Johnson Amplification amps have. Those digital modeling amps have dozens of amp sounds, but no good sounding tones. The Trademark has great tone.

This amp also is excellent for plugging directly into a soundboard for recording. The tones are compatrable to a V-Twin pedal direct.

I'm giving this amp a "10" for what it is, a swiss army knife of tones.

I had the pilot light go out after 3 years, and Lloyd at Tech 21 sent me a new one for $6.00. He spoke to me about other Tech 12 products, and I ended up buying a Trademark 10 also, which I love.

Lloyd was helpful, and available. Other musical instrument manufacturers could learn from him. I'd buy another Tech 21 product in a second.

This is a great sounding amp with tons of great, very usable tones. If you can play, you will love this amp for it's portability, and versatility.

Changed out enough tubes and speakers and cables, etc., etc., etc.

No tubes. sounds great. Light weight. SOLD.
I like the tone controls. Reverb not so great but I use very little.

Love the clean channel. I run an Ibanez Metheny (PM100) through it and I love the tone.
OK, the distortion channel gets a lot of criticism but it's not a priority for me. Mainly for fun and a touch of overdrive.
It does sound a bit weak to me when using a solid body but the Metheny gives it enough tone and punch to make a difference.
I use an Ibanez AD9 Delay pedal through the clean channel input. (Yes, analog makes a difference.)

Six years later it still works.

I'm old enough to remember those first Fender SS amps that looked more like air conditioners to me so SS has never impressed me.
Until this amp came along. I REALLY wanted to like the new (this was in 2003) Fender SS amps but they didn't impress me.
The Trademark 60 didn't sound SS to me.
It has what I need and what I like.
Yeah, I think I'd buy another one or another Tech 21 amp.

It's not set up like a typical amp. Read the manual and play with the sample settings and you'll get the hang of it. Effects loop is cool. Reverb is ok. Clean boost switch is cool. Pretty versatile amp in my opinion.

I usually mind my business, but the guy who reviewed this amp below is just a plain moron. Some people are so enamoured of the "recto" type sound, that they lose track of what a really good amp sounds like. The rectifier amps; by the way, also have a great clean and overdrive channel, not just a red channel. It sounds like this idiot expected to sound like Metallica after plugging in? The TM60 is the best amp; in my opinion, to emulate the tube sound. Something like the POD, is an digital amp modeler, while the TM60 is analog and will emulate it. Most people have no patience at all and expect to plug in and sound brilliant. Well, it doesn't always work this way. There is some work involved in getting a good tone and any guitarist with any real experience will agree. The clean channel on the TM60 is great. It's very Fender sounding and responds really well to pedals. The dirty channel requires some work. It's easy to go overboard with this channel. It's tempting to just dial in the Metallica setting and jam, but this amp is capable of so much more. As dumb as this sounds, try elevating your amp. If you buy an amp stand, you'll see how your sound will have opened up once your amps speaker is elevated. You'll use less distortion and even ease up on the Bass and Treble. I've had this amp for years and I gig with it constantly and have had nothing but good luck with it. I use the clean channel with a big muff and a strat and it sounds HUGE! I can get a decent mesa boogie type tone too in the dirty channel. Now, if you want a REAL mesa sound, save up and buy a mesa, but if you want a close approximation that still has its own character, you're all set. Why would you want to sound like everyone else anyway? Create your own sound! I love this amp. I used to have a mesa boogie rectoverb that was my main amp, but it weighed a ton! It was also vulnerable, being that it was a tube amp and would require maintainence. The TM60 is solid state and will not break down. I get full use of this amp. I'm a professional musician, which means that I earn a decent living playing my guitar, so I need gear that will deliver. This amp does just that. I saw les Paul himself (yes, the guy whose name is on you guitar!) playing through one of these. Nuff said!!

I probably shouldn't have called that reviewer a moron, that wasn't nice. More than likely, he didn't get some sound on a record he thought would be readily available with this amp, got frustrated and decided to vent. Well, that happens. But instead of mouthing off, do some tweaking. In my opinion, this is a great amp. I don't need much, just a good clean channel that will also sound good distorted. Thats what i got with this amp. I don't even bother test driving other amps, because this one has kept me happy for years.

This is essentially a two channel amp. Channel 1 gives clean to rhythm
type "Fenderish" crunch and leads.
Channel 2 gives a much harder more saturated distortion which moves into classic rock and meatl territory.
Comes with a well constructed footpedal which changes channel and turns on or off the boost.
The boost really does work! Great for cutting through on solos.
It has enough clout and volume for most gigs. I tend to gig on the small venue circuit in London. Gets above drummer and bassist easily in rehearsal conditions.
It's solid state but analogue. Very natural, tubular sound. At any volume!

AWESOME. seriously. this amp blows others out of the water. i had a fender hotrod deluxe. not anymore. this amp sounds amaaaazing, even better than the highly credited valve amp. Channel 1 is awesome, super clean jazz and samba sounds can be made with the driva and punch completely off and the volume anywhere you choose. the great thing about the amp is that, because it is solid state, any volume level sounds the same, so you get that same awesome tone be it in your bedroom or playing at a pub. love love love it. i would never ever trade it against something else just for channel 1. However, channel 2 is a bit bad in comparison. its alright if you want a medium to high lead sound, but apart from that youre stumped. turning the drive just gives you that same sound, but less driven - no crunch when youre about 9 o'clock just kinda mud. :(. however, to rectify that i bought an ibanez tube king which should do the job, fingers crossed. great amp overall

great great great. mine was a bit cosmetically challenged - scuffed and missing the tech 21 name plate thingy, despite it being new (wtf?!) but i did get a healthy reduction =D. so yeye. no problems so far. one of the lil' chicken head knobs comes off now and then, i just packed it with a bit of paper and pushed it back on. no probs. all is well in tech 21 land. SPEAKER IS AMAZING.

I have a Fender Classic Players 50, an Ibanez AS73 natural, and a Switch Oscar IV Les Paul type. I'm not sure I want to ask the interrogation questions. All I want to say is this: From the moment I plugged into channel 1 (clean) I was hooked. I was on the holy grail for jazz tone--the ever-so-slightly distorted, slight growl but crisp, creamy voicing. This amp allowed me to create THE sound. Once a Fender addict, no more. Of course, the amp also has a wide array of possibilities, even though there are minimal effects (no chorus, delay or flange) what you do get is unsurpassed--and I'm not kidding here since I just went through a painful 3 years of anguish trying to find that elusive yet instantly recognizable tone.

It's a solid state, solidly built, and with Tech 21's reliability and customer service backing it. I am certain I could use this amp without a backup.

You can see it is full of feature if it was a 3 chanel amp i would have gave it a 10.

I used into it a gibson SG, PRS SE costum, yamaha pacifica 112 (with and without seymour duncan pick-ups) Godin XTSA and Godin SD.

This amp is pretty good for all the styles i like to play, but it does not do extreme metal without some help from a pedal. (it all depends on your definition of a metal tone)

If you check the controls on this amp are a bit unusual it gives you lot of freedom to taylor your sound so the sound quality depends on your understanding of those controls (N.B the eq is active cut and boost.) The more i use this amp the more satisfy i am with the tone.

The amp is very quiet but still have a bit of background noise. (the boost function boost the noise when you are not playing. Switch it off between songs for more quiet operation)

The sound range from very old fender to old boogies.

The clean sound of this amp is pretty close to my old fender deluxe reverb with a bit of tweaking (but a bit less graceful) The distortion is pretty good too for my taste again not exactly like a tube amp but real good (The other day i tried a marshall satck and i tough the trademark was better, but the fender blues amp was better than the tradmark by a tiny bit) SO tube vs solid state for me is not a debate the debate is do i like the sound or not. I love the sound of that solid state amp and it is the only amp i kept in my collection. It is highly versatile and the direct recording out sounds great. I post song on the internet and when i was using my line 6 stuff i got spotted has a line 6 user, now that i use Tech21 nobody spotted the fact tha i recorded a solid state amp. So if the blind test work i guess it sounds good.

So for all the Tech21 product i own(3) are of very high quality. But i always use it at home. The only thing that i do not like is when you start the amp i feel like it needs to charge itself like the flash of a camera, once the current is at full steam your good. An example of what i mean is if you play with the headphone on and the remove the headphone jack to switch to the speaker the sound is farty a bit, it is like the output transformer is not fully charged. If i close the amp and reopen it without the headphone it sounds good. It is not a problem of reliability just the way it works. You either use headphone or speaker just do not hotswap from headphone to speaker. No tubes to change YEAH! very tough construction. almost perfect design.

You can write to them and they respond very fast. Of all the costumer support i tried the were the best!

I never needed to use their repair service but you have to know that tech21 does not have service centers you need to send the amp to them in New York to have it fixed and you need to get a repair order number before you send it. I never used their repair service but that information is on their website.

I truly believe that if you use your Tech21 gear reasonably you will not need to have it repair i own 3 tech21 product and they are very solid, but i can not speak for the product i do not own.

I LOVE channel 1!!! It sounds like a fender but not as trebly. This channel loves effects too. I'm not a fan of channel 2(the distortion channel). It's too dark and it's just not for me. I run dirt boxes into channel 1 and they sound awesome. I use a MI audio crunchbox for heavy and Fulltone ocd for light to medium overdrive. I run the dirt boxes straight into the front, but all other effects go through the effects loop. I really dig this amp.

I originally bought this amp because i did not want to haul around my tube amps to gigs. Well, I ended up selling most of them off and using the TM60 exclusively. This is a great amp, ss or not.

I owned this for a year or two. It sounded really nice. Really warm for a solid state. Kind of like a modded marshall. I believe I didn't like the effects loop, but I really can't remember!

I didn't like the cleans on this with my Fender American Strat. Too much bass. I found the eq on the clean settings to have too much of a full sound, if you know what I'm talking about. I have a Fender Concert (essentially a Twin with one speaker), and it sounds super sweet clean and is quite adjustable in tone (except for low-end), so I suppose I noticed a difference. The distortion is very nice. I could see a player playing Stevie Ray Vaughan or maybe even some old Van Halen with this. The distortion is not as textured as a tube amp, and sounds more synthetic. However, I don't think that's bad at all because it sounds good! I had an Ibanez S series 540 FM. I put a Full Shred in the bridge, and it sounded great with this amp. However, I don't own that guitar anymore and the amp didn't sound good with my RG3120, which has a very dark guitar tone. I didn't like this with my strat for clean settings, but dialed in a very nice light distortion sound. An 8 for what it does best.

I've owned lots of gear. Various tube amps. A small stable of guitars. Now, I own just an rg3120, a flextone III plus, a fender concert, and assorted pedals. I liked this amp. Sometimes, I miss it a little because it was light, and I love solid states that sound warm, like my Flextone! In the end, it just didn't make sense to keep it because it wasn't a good fit with my decision to take the minimalist approach to gear. I wasn't a fan of the reverb on this amp. While the tone of the amp is as good as my flextone, it wasn't as versatile as I would have liked. Also, placing effects in the effects loop didn't sound good, if I recall correctly. I think this would be a nice amp for a player into Jazz or straight ahead rock. Also good for some modern blues sounds.

I bought this amp new in 2006. Its the 1x12 version with a celestion speaker. I play blues, rock, jazzy styles on this amp and it really does the job. The amp has two channels, Channel 1 with Fender type sounds and Channel 2 with Marshall sounds. It has channel switching. I've used it for gigging in last six months and played about 20 gigs with a four piece band. It has been brilliant. It is plenty loud enough for large gigs and the ability to use it at lower volumes means its good for small gigs or miked up with a pa when the backline needs to have less volume.
It takes a bit of time to work out the controls as they work a bit differently from a standard amp but once you've got used to them it's fine.

I'm using a deluxe strat and a Westone Thunder 1A with humbuckers for slide. I use the Fender channel with quite a bit of drive and use the volume on the guitar to clean up the sound. It works a treat and cleans up well for rhythm work and the lead sound with the guitar volume up full is great. Channel 1 is really loud. The reverb is excellent. You can get anything from very subtle to really large reverb sounds. I began gigging using the Marshall style channel set quite clean but it doesn't cut through as well as channel 1 and is a bit muddy so now stick to channel 1. However if I ever want to jam some metal/rock channel 2 would do the job. I tend to think of the channels as seperate amps, as with one EQ and very different voicings I find it easier to stick to one channel. I've had lots of compliments for the sound from sound guys and other guitarists. The fact that its not valve isn't an issue as it sounds great.

So far it hasn't let me down. Its solid state so it is hopefully more reliable than a valve. I keep a short lead in the effects loop and have contact cleaner in case of moisture in the jack sockets as mentioned in an earlier review. I don't have a back up amp.
The amp appears to be well made with quality components. When I bought it I liked the fact it was made in the US and was really pleased to see a video on You tube with a tour of the factory by the designer.

I have emailed the company with a couple of questions about the amp and they got back to me within a couple of days.

I've been playing for about 25 years. I would certainly consider buying this amp again. When I bought this amp I wanted a top quality solid state amp that was easy to transport. I considered an Award Session but you can't try out a Session as they are mail order. I've used valve amps in rehearsal studios and the sounds can be great but often they are way too loud and the sound isn't that far off the Trademark to my ears. I tried a blues junior which has a great clean sound but isn't quite as versatile. The Trademark was quite expensive even though I got ??50 knocked off, but you can get them cheaper on line or second hand on ebay. However when you consider it's US made and it's really well built then the price seems more reasonable. I like the fact this amp is very portable, it's a real workhorse gigging amp and it sounds great. It would be good to have two Fender channels one for really clean and one for disorted sounds but I can always get a Tech 21 pedal to do this.

Light weight, excellent range of sounds

I use with a Les Paul with '57 classic pickups and Fender Strat Plus with Fender Lace pickups. My style is rock and blues with other stuff too (Van Halen and alternative stuff too on occasion).

This is a superbly versatile amp, with a whole spectrum of good analog sounds contained with it. I'm a pretty much a "one (good) sound" of guy: I find the sound I like best and I stick with it. I think this approach is pretty common - unless you are in a band that covers many different styles and tunes.

Like so many guitarists, I am after that classic tube amp sound from the 60s and 70s (Kossoff, Clapton, Green, Skynyrd, Thin Lizzy etc etc) and I have to say this amp is really very very good at getting a tasty sound that satisfies me. I am not saying it is exactly the same as a Marshall plexi - for one thing you can't "ride the volume knob" on your guitar like you can on a cranked up Marshall 50 or 100 watt head but, frankly, probably 90% of the people reading this should remember that (although you can fantasize...) they really don't need this either, in fact it is just not practical.

Channel 1 is the clean-to-moderately distorted channel, and like most people have already said, this channel is an absolute winner. It is almost impossible to believe this is not great Fender tube amp with great gobs of tube-like distortion. I have a nice Fender tube amp, and they are so similar it is unreal - except the Tech 21 is more adjustable and less trebly. I would not say it is better or worse. Frankly for a gig I take this amp rather than the Fender.

This channel can go pretty overdriven by my standards - 90% of the time its all I need. It is very clean when set clean and the amp is very quiet - quieter than most tube amps.

Channel 2 is less satisfactory - I agree with what others have said here, it seems to lack definition and treble attack. You can improve it with boosting the eq, but somehow it is never truly great like channel 1. I think it is OK for soloing (you can get a useable Santana tone or David Gilmour "Comfortably Numb" sound with it, for example) in high-gain mode, but for chordal work it is a bit on the muddy side.

I guess my summary is that channel 2 is not the reason to buy this amp and I find I don't use it much. If you want a metal-suitable amp then don't buy this one!

The boost switch is a cool feature that gives you a footswitched volume boost for soloing that does not otherwise affect its sound (the gain remains the same as you have already dialed in). It can be useful.

This amp is a bargain and can hold its head up with most tube amps twice to three times its price.

Improvements - would prefer conventional EQ controls with 3 knobs not 2, but in practice this does not matter.

I don't think the reverb is so great (although it is Accutronic) I use it only on low-to-moderate reverb (I need the digital delay for better surf tones).

My foot switch is the older type and it is easy to hit more than one button with your foot, which can be a pain. The newer in-line switch is better.

I think that there should be two channel 1s - that channel is so good it would be great to have the choice of two footswitcheable gain settings for it.

This amp may take a bit of getting used to. The controls and features are not the run of the mill common ones you find in most amps. If you play around with it, you'll get used to it pretty quickly.

Well, what can I say? I know this amp will not be for everyone. It's a solid state amp that is supposed to sound like a tube amp. Does it? It's close enough for me. A real quality tube amp (fender, mesa, etc.) will sound more "tubey", but this amp sounds just fine to me. It has it's own sound. The clean channel is great, it goes from crystal clean to medium overdrive. The distorted channel isn't bad either, but it is a bit dark for me and will probobly not have enough gain for some people(metalheads). I use this amp with both strats and les pauls. I must confess that I don't usually use the dirty channel; I use the clean channel with a distortion pedal. The amp has a decent reverb and a decent clean boost. It has an active effects loop... It's a great amp, like I said, it won't be for everyone. I can just imagine purists whining about it (they always have to find something to whine about), but the fact is: this is a hell of a good amp. It's a workhorse. I know plenty of people that bought this amp because they wanted to have a bang around amp to gig with and preserve their precious fender twins or mesa combos (myself included) and just ended up using it as their main amp.

Well, I do have some complaints. First off, the footswitch for this amp can be a bit inconsitant. Sometimes you step on it to change channels or turn off the reverb or effects loop and it will not work. Most of the times it does, but as we gigging musicians know, "sometimes" does not cut it in a live situation. Like I mentioned earlier, I only use the clean channel, so it's a non issue with me, but still...

Tech21 are the best when it comes to customer support. they answer emails, they talk to you on the phone, they are never condesending or mean, always helpful. I actually live not too far from their headquarters and if I wanted to stop by with my amp for a quick repair of some kind, I'm willing to bet that they'd be very cool about it. I trust them.

I've been playing a long time and have owned many amps. I won't say this amp is my favorite, but it is damn good. Definitely in my top 5. If it were stolen, and I was on the same budget I'm on now, I'd buy another one. If I had the money, I'd probobly spring for a tremoverb combo or a matchless. If this amp had a more brutal distortion, that would make a difference to a lot of players. It would make it "complete" in many ways. But for those looking for a good solid gigging amp, check this puppy out.

I play mostly hard rock, some indie, dark country/rockabilly type stuff.
This amp is the QUIETEST I've ever owned, no thumps or pops when you switch it on, and only gets hissy with too much reverb.
It's a two channel amp but to be honest I only use the first (it's not really "clean"), I can get pretty much any sound I need out of this channel.
The dirty channel is pretty unusable it's murky sounding and lacks punch.
I'd like to see a version with two "clean" channels on it instead of the awful distortion, that way I could set up a nice crunch/70's lead arrangement.

I've had this amp for about two years and gigged extensively with it, it's never let me down, I've played everything from marshall combos and stacks to fender twins and vox ac30's and they ALL broke down at some point. It's light (which is a major factor often overlooked) and it has great projection.
I would recommend an amp stand just so you can have it a little quieter and not deafening your singer haha! it is LOUD!

The only reason it doesn't get a 10 is the aforementioned second channel. Just put two first channels on it!

This amp is a basic two-channel solid-state combo amp with a boost. What more do you need? Perhaps a separate EQ for each channel would be nice which is my only gripe but it's fine without it if you set it right. It has a nice natural spring reverb and a speaker-emulated direct line out. It also has a headphone jack for quiet practicing and an effects loop. It might not be a tube amp but it sure sounds like one to me and every person who has heard me play through it.

I have been playing guitar for 22 years and playing in the local bar/club scene every weekend for the past 15 years. I had owned many amps through the years and have gone from a tiny combo amp up to a half stack to a full 12-space rack stack and eventually back down to most recently a Mesa Roadster combo amp. Lugging around big and heavy amplifiers has been something that I've always done because I needed a fat tube sound and the only way to get it was to have a great tube amp. I finally got sick and tired of carrying a heavy amp but the biggest problem was my tube amps not working at a gig. Nightmare. I did a lot of research on what was the best solid-state amp and everything I read pointed me to the Tech 21 Trademark 60. I went and tried the 1x12" in a store and loved it but I knew that the 2x12" would move a bit more air so I asked to try that one. Sold! The amp's tone is incredible! I've used it live in the clubs and the sound is ridiculous! All the people who say that this amp doesn't sound "big enough" or doesn't have enough gain must be crazy. It's a little powerhouse and the best part about it is that it sounds exactly the same every night! No tube amp problems to worry about and the amp's LIGHT so it's easy to carry! Ok, maybe it doesn't sound exactly like a Marshall or a Mesa like they say it does but it has its own sound and that sound is awesome! The clean channel's sound is spectacular as well! It's the absolute best overall amplifier I've ever owned and it's the perfect solution for the gigging professional for reliability, sound quality, and portability since it's 1/3 the weight of a tube amp its size. It's friggin' beautiful! I just wish I knew about it years ago...

I can't give an opinion on this because I haven't needed any servicing but I'm sure it's great.

I tried a lot of modeling amps and none of them can compare to this amp. The sound is warm because it's analog and not digital. I traded a Mesa Roadster (which I just bought a little over a year ago) for this amp so that should tell you something about how much I like this amp's tone and its portability. I even had enough cash left over from my trade to buy a new guitar along with it! :) This is definitely the best amp for the bar/club musician by far. Go try one and you'll buy it too.

This warhorse is about six years old, but looks about 20 years old.
Beat, torn tolex, ripped speaker cloth, taped handle, dirt and rust on the top panel.

I recently re-acquired it from some teenagers I lent it to about 3 years ago.

It wasn't working but the fixes were really simple: the power cord had a broken wire, though they had kept it working by finding a spot in the kinked cord and taping it to the cabinet to stabilize it. It quit anyway. I just shortened the cord past the break and resoldered it.
And: the pots were ALL stratchy and intermittent. I disassembled the chassis for access and liberally douched the pots out with Radio Shack contact cleaner/lube ($11/can).
They all came back to service although one still makes a bit of noise like transistor junctions make when you turn it, but still works over the full sweep and stays constant where set.

It sounds as good as new and still has the original speaker.

Plenty of range in the EQ to cover a variety of sounds both clean and dirty.

Up until recently I'd been playing all kinds of jobs with tweed Fender clones like Victoria's, or a '59 Bassman RI LTD. But I'm going back to this as my main gigger because it happens to be just the right size and power output for almost all the venues I play, though I may reinforce it outdoors.

The sound is "tweedy" enough for me, and it will do better blackface sounds and distortion at a less finicky SPL's.

I keep looking for better (or maybe more honestly: different) sounds or amp response (more "tube-like" breathing?) but honestly, on a gig Tech 21 stuff is consistant and reliable. Maybe I'm done.

I think I might like a bigger version again for outdoors, like a TM 120 or 300 head, but for 99% of the calls I get, the TM60 is fine by itself (I don't use effects beyond the amp's on-board distortion, reverb, "weep" or "bite" switches, EQ, etc.). I no longer even have a foot switch for it, though the one for the TM 120 was GREAT with that rig.

This amp is 4 yrs old.I bought it used.It is a versitle amp.The clean channel is the best.The dirty channel is good ,not as good as a tube amp.It has a great amount of features for the money.It's best being an XLR out for me being a use it a church and go directly in to the sound mixer board.It also has an effect loop, AC outlet in the back which makes it easy to plug effects into.I use this amp for a personal monitor. It is a good amp for that.For just playing a gig,I would go with a good tube amp.You can play an acoustic guitar through this amp with good results.

Sound Quality is good.Not great.Reverb ok.It is a good sounding amp.It doesn't compare to a tube amp.Features > Sound,with this amp.The only other amp in this price range with XLR out is Peavey's Windsor Studio.I'll try that amp next.I won't give this amp up before I try the Peavey.I paid 300 dollars for this amp.It was well worth the money.

Good dependable amp.Great for personal monitor with XLR out.Acoustic and eletric guitars sound good through it.If I can find a tube amp with equal features,XLR out I will replace it.Maybe the Peavey Windsor Studio.If the Peavy amp doesn't sound as good ,I'll keep the Tech 21.I'll let you know in the future which amp won.My guess is the Tech 21 will be victorious.

Already covered. I have the 1x12. Note the "active" controls react differently that typical "passive" amp controls. Very helpful actually and very unique. Bought mine in 2005. Knobs take time (unfortunately) to get used to but once you try the amp (and get used to it's ACTIVE settings--yes, this absolutely makes a difference), then I'm confident most guitarists would love the amp. Easy to carry. Easy to gig. Easy to play. Easy to get great sounds from.

This is not a honeymoon review. Great -- and I mean great cleans and mild OD on Channel 1. Channel 2 is better than ok. Try an eq in the loop for Channel 2 (remember it's a shared eq). It really is incredible. XLR to board AND mike at the same time... or just mike it... or just XLR to FOH. Either way, you're getting a 1x12 that excels. Great sag, great feel, great sonic landscape. Don't be fooled by lack of tubes. No digital ridiculousness (it's all analog). And, btw, since it's all analog you cannot "save" settings like on digital crud. No matter. Plays like a gem. Sounds great from venue to venue. Tele and Les Paul sound fantastic. I don't write many reviews and I have no affiliation with the Co. but will tout their excellent product. Give it a try. Low volume and gig volume both fantastic. Remember, the active eq (vs. passive) makes a difference. The stock Celestion 70/80 ok but try a celestion neodymium G12 Century or Electrovoice EV12ML 200w. This amp, no matter how you slice it, is a sleeper. It will give you close to similar sounds of your fave valves. It just sounds great. I won't sell my tube amps. I like it so much I just bought a second (gave the first away to family member). I gig with this amp.

During a gig mine starting dropping considerable volume. I was operating the amp in high humidity environments. Learned later that keeping the inputs and loop inputs clean (gold contact spray, whathaveyou) is key to keeping the magic alive. That, or keeping small pedal link cables plugged in if not using. Anyway, no more/never a problem again. If you find this useful, then fine.

Customer service is 100% GENUINE, PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. I could go on and on and on. Tech 21 customer service has been tops for the more than 15 years I've been using their products. They are consistently the best I have experienced. I own two sansamps (a classic and the old "non" classic one), a TM10, RVB, delay and a few other Tech 21 products. You can't go wrong with their service.

I bought this amp in the early 2000's. I bought it to gig with, as my tremoverb half stack was too much of a hassle to lug around. well, it quickly became my main amp, for gigging and for playing at home. It does everything I want. Both channels sound great. I use a mesa v twin on the clean channel, whenever I need a "metal" sound, but for the most part I stick to the two channels that the amp offers. I really love this amp. It's solid state, but still sounds great. Most people would not be able to tell that there are no tubes in this thing. It has an effects loop, which I use to run a tremolo pedal into. I can pretend that the amp is a Fender twin reverb! I don't know if it matches up to a fender twin, but I don't care. It sounds great. The reverb by the way sounds really good too. I only wish it had seperate eq's for each channel, but so far I don't find it to be a big problem. The Amp responds very well to effects too.

I play both strats and les pauls with this amp and it responds well to both. It has a really nice clean sound that actually can get pretty hairy when the gain is turned up. The dirty channel is good too. Probobly not good enough for most metal heads, but if u run a good metal type distortion pedal through the clean channel, you'll be ok, plus, you'll have a 3 channel amp... Sort of? Like I said, I use channel 1 for clean and for heavy distortion with a mesa v twin and channel 2 for stardard rock to heavy rock distortion. I was also running a parametric eq through the effects loop for a while, which made channel 2 sound insane! I'm not really playing metal anymore, so I no longer do this, but I just wanted to tell any and all that this will give you your "metal" sound.

It's solid state, so u don't have to worry about it crapping out on u. I've heard of there crapping out on people, but so far I've had no problems.

Tech 21 are the kings of customer support! I've dealt with them several times via email and on the phone and they are just the best!

I've never played an amp that was a 10, so I will give it a 9. I love this amp and I love all tech 21 products. Highly reccomended.

Only bad thing is that it has two channels, not three.

I use Gibson SG and my style is 60-80??s pop/Rock. This amp suits my style more than well. I can do Doors and Van Halen with this amp and that??s pretty amazing thing. There??s no such sound that you can??t find from this amp.
Clean channel is beautifull and if you want some distortion, go ahead and do it. You can make this baby??s clean channel do some CCR mid-distortion etc.
Second channel is for ac/dc, Van Halen, Bon Jovi..you name it!

This is built like a tank and NO TUBES=NO WORRIES!!

There??s is no such thing than 10 amp so, I??ll give it 9/10.

Two channels, spring reverb, volume boost, effects loop, direct out (XLR), headphone out extention cab out, etc. My only complaint is the two band EQ (high and low). I wish it had separate EQs for each channel but that would drive up cost... at the very least I wish it had a mid knob for extra control. Overall, a lot of features here.

I've got to say that the clean channel is EXCELLENT. Sounds much like a Fender Twin type clean sound, especially with the nice spring reverb kicked on. I judge most amps on their clean channel since you can find overdrive pedals and such to shape up a lackluster overdrive channel.

Now, speaking of disappointing overdrive, I really don't care for channel 2. I find the overdrive overloaded in the mid-range with not enough clarity in the top or bottom end. They have settings for vox ac-30 and such but I DEFINITELY don't hear it! Not nearly enough treble. Something about channel 2 just doesn't cut well...it always sounds a big muffled. Frankly, I hardly even use channel 2 and just rely on overdrive and fuzz pedals to dirty up channel 1.

I give it a 9/10 for the clean channel and a 5 for the overdrive channel.

I'm getting ready to send my amp in for a repair but I did buy it used and I've had it for about a year. Overall, it seems very well-built and hopefully my problem turns out to be minor.

Hmmm...this is a tough one. I like the amp and think it is a good overall value but I don't think I'd buy it again. In fact, I am really thinking of moving on to a small combo tube amp. I'd like a better overdrive channel to diversify sounds a bit more. If you're after a great clean sound with a nice reverb, give this one a look. If you're on the market for crunch and overdrive, I recommend looking elsewhere!

This amp (especially with the extra speaker) gives headroom, improved clarity and loud band level presence thats required.
The clean channel doesn't sound boxy or pushed as with the 1x12 version at band level.
It shimmers and can be coaxed into superb biting overdrive with a SRV lead sound and attack if required.
The reverb is a 6spring full length accutronics tray that sounds dreamy on clean.
Click over to the soverdrive channel and you're rewarded with the fattest, most articulate blues, rock and approaching metal sounds you'll ever need.
The boost fuction is a great idea, too.

I got this TM60 right when it came out to the stores.. I actually took the only floor model they had at the time at the local L&M. I knew a number of session guys that were waiting eagerly to hear this thing due to their exponential positive experiences with Sansamp preamps.. THis amp ROCKS.. 2 channels, all analog, nice spring verb, lods of power to push a 4x12, active EQ, great speaker (Special design 100w). By far the best sounding solid state amp I've ever heard / played.

Biggest bonus for me was the versitility of the sound not to mention the high quality of each genre it could produce. Clean is stellar... Used it in many a session and engineers are stunned at the lack of hiss or hum. Totally nails Fender cleans to a tee. Tweed gain is very impressiv e with great natural break up. Second channel is a killer rectified blend all the way from Steve Vai to Stonesour.... Seriously huge. Again it sounds fantastic as a combo, but dish it out to a 2x12 or 4x12 and it'll blow you away.

Once i fugured out the Aux send/return issue it's been perfect ever since.. Either keep the send/return sockets clean all the time or as i do, just keep a 4inch 1/4inch cable plugged into the loop all the time.

They're pretty good.. and getting better

If you don't have one in your collection go play one asap and take the time to seek out all the cool tones this thing can produce. I don't think I could ever get rid of mine as it's saved my butt tone wise too many times.. Get one now!!

This amp was made in 2004. It is versatile. Indeed that is the operative word here. I play everything except for hard hard stuff and ask my guitars for lots of tones. 2 channels, channel switching with a stomp box, headphones and the all important record out.

OK. Here is the story. I bought every Trademark amp, the 10, the 30 and the 60. The smaller amps have more personality to me...they are more believable. Obviously the 60 is the call for having enough volume for medium and larger venues but for small jams, recording, etc, the smaller ones to me are more unique. I also have a musicman tube amp and the difference (of course) is palpable. Still, it sounds very good. Reverb is great and tone shaping is great. I PREFER the modelling switches on the smaller ones though....no question.

I use this amp for some practice and playing out. The last time it was out for a spin we used the XLR out into 10 Crown 800 watt power amps. Wow.... We were also using headphone monitors, so to keep the stage quiet I plugged headphones into the amp to "dummy out" the speaker. Worked like a charm. Thank you Tech 21 customer support for the advice!

What I like is the almost perfect Fender Deluxe Reverb (sans tremelo)... it's the bread and butter sound.

I usually use Clean Fender/Dirty Marshall. The Marshall isn't really dirty, more like a Plexi-45.

It's pretty good for me.

Lately I've been gigging with a POD XT Live and I'm really digging some of the amp emulations. So I'm thinking along the lines of switching over to the Tech 21 Engine. That said, the Trademark 60 gives me PLENTY to work with.

Never had a problem. It's an older Trademark, right after they came out with the model. I blew 1 fuse about 5 years ago. Hmmm. Beats the old tube stuff I used to fuss over.

I have called Tech 21 on a number of occasions, to just go over some questions I was having. Great service, customer focused. Really nice folks up at the shop.

I've been playing over 40 years. Since I was 9 or 10. I've been through a lot of stuff. Fender Deluxes, Twins, Sunn, HI-Watt... After I sold the last Bassman, and the Deluxe started to breakdown... I retubed a number of times... Tubes became unreal and totally without quality control (but that has since changed a little). At that point I went looking. Emulation was out on the streets and Tech 21 was being hailed as good technology. So I tried one out. I liked it. I even liked the vintage look to it, along with the quality fit and finish. I was impressed.

I compared it against my ear, having been into the Fender line for a long while... and never wanting to lug around a Plexi-45 or 100... There was great possibilities here. A good informed decision. The quality was right, the sound was superb, and the price was very affordable.

As I said earlier, I'm using a POD XT live and would probably be more suited to the Trademark 60 engine at this point. That would allow for the different amp and mods. Technology spoils me. I now will use a HI-Watt sound, switch to a Fender Deluxe Reverb with a trem, lead break on a pumped up Plexi-45 and cool it off with a JC-120. But that's going direct with the POD. I need an amp solution and the the Engine would fit the bill. The quality of Tech 21 is there. Which is the real selling point here... Actually there are 3,

Bought mine in Sept of '05. This has everything I was looking for, and a few things I relly don't need. 2 channels, a spring reverb, XLR out and 1/4" out, in a lower wattage 12" combo amp with footswitching capabilities. Best of all it sounds great at low to moderate levels which is all I do these days. Both channels along with the reverb/boost and FX loop are all footswitchable.

This amp can do clean sounds all the way up to hard rock, but no heavy metal here. The OD channel is where I spend 95% (or more) of my time. It does a good impersination of the Marshall thing and can get kinda' "Boogie-ish". But really it does have it's own sound, which is what I like. This gives me a chance to find my sound as I'm not looking to cop anyone elses sound. Just a good tubelike sound. Some will say I'm full of B.S. but I sold my BadCat CubII after buying this. The BC was nice but seeing as I don't get the chance to play out or in a band situation I no longer need to play at high volumes. After 5 minuets of side by side comparison, I was able to get virually the same sound as the BC at bedroom levels. Now I'm sure at a stage volume a good valve amp will blow this away, but at low-medium levels I don't think I can beat the Trademark. I'm not a big clean sound guy, pretty much anything will work for me. This can sound "Fendery" clean & bright, or fat and jazzy. It's not really noisy either.

Almost 2 years and no real problems. It's kept in a smoke free climate controled house, and when not in use it's under the vinyl cover. About a year ago I had an instance of some crackling noise, however I believe that the cable was not in all the way. Seems solid so far.

Very nice sounding non-tube amp. I like this much better than any of the modeling stuff out there (BTW-why does everything have digital effects built in?). I'm a plug-&-play guy, no effects (other than spring reverb) just guitar/cable/amp. Wanted tubelike sounds without tubes! Got that and a little more. To me a perfect amp has 2 channels, a spring reverb, and a line out for studio stuff. Most of all it all has to be footswitchable. How can some manufacturers claim that their amps are so versatile however you have to switch everything off at the amp (are you listening Marshall and Rivera)??? Try turning your reverb off during a show (let me run back to the amp mid-song). Anyway I really like this amp a ton! It has everything I wanted and only a few things I don't need (i.e.- boost & FX loop). I play blues and classic rock, I use Les Pauls and an Explorer, all with PAF style pickups. Tried most everything out there in my near 20 years of playing. I no longer am looking for another amp, this is perfect for me. If I start playing out again I'm sure I'll be back to a large valve amp.

One of the early models. Speaker= Tech 21 model #2112-A, special design 12", 100w. A small, square 3 button footswitch. I tend to live in the Fender or Marshall sounds, but it's extremely versatile. I've played in classic rock bands on and off for over 30 years, blues bands for the last 10 years. (there's some overlap of years there, dudes!) This is the best amp, overall, I've used. Wish it had 2 Fender channels, but that's just me. The features and power have been near perfect. I like a little gain (not too dirty) when the guitar volume knob is full on, with a kind of sweet, steely sustain. When I turn the knob down, it cleans up better than a lot of tube amps I've owned. When it's not loud enough, I know it's time to move on because the other guys are too loud (I don't like mud!). Pedals sound great in front; I have a bunch (see below). Along with the features on the amp footswitch, I've got a lot of options. LOVE the boost feature on the amp's pedal, and the effects loop "on/off" switch.
Has more "ins and outs" than any other amp I've owned, and the line out sounds great through a pa. It looks cool, too. But the "T" broke off the name plate, and now it says " ECH 21".

The amp makes all the sounds I need. Of course, no matter what amp or guitar I use, I seem to dial in the same slightly pushed sound that can clean up from the guitar volume pot. And this is one of the best I've had.
Noise is no more than any tube amps I've owned; more dependant on the pickups.

Built like a workhorse; extremely dependable. Had a recent issue (after all these years ) with the power amp. Lloyd was extremely helpfull, and the amp was fixed for $30. bucks. Recently bought the 30, and it arrived from MF w/a broken reverb. Returned amp to MF, and the replacement arrived w/a broken reverb, too. Called Lloyd, who had me send him the busted one, sent me a replacement, and helped me reinstall. Solved my problem.

Wow! Awesome customer service. Never experienced this type of service with other companies. Spent time with me on the phone, talking about repair, use of amp, music...Lloyd is very cool to deal with. Way out of warranty, but fixed the power amp for $30.? Awesome. I'm a customer for life.

Pedals include: Fulltone OCD, Reverend Drivetrain II, Cry Baby wah with the 4 setting eq, Tubescreamers, Tonebone Classic, Dunlop Rotovibe, Digitech Clapton Crossroads, Tech 21 Tri OD, AC,etc.
If it was stolen, I'd replace immediately.
Has a much better midrange presence at louder than bedroom volumes. Much more punch and depth than the Flextone, which was too thin even with high midrange settings. And not as dependant as the Flextone on a strong electric current for a full sound.
The only amp I've gigged with where I am consistantly told what a great tone it has. My DRRI w/a Marshal Power Brake comes close, but is a bigger hassle to set up and carry.
And NO, I'm not related to Lloyd or the company. Just know what an incredible value this amp is.

Tech 21 Trademark 60 made in 2005. I have used this in my Blues band and with another semi-famous blues band in Wichita Kansas. Everybody thinks this IS a tube amp. I love the blues sound on channel 1 and can get a more "bassy" similar sound out of channel 2. This really works well for my style and requirements. The foot pedal is of good design, and seemes very "road-worthy". I have not used the line out yet, but everything I hear and read says it is GREAT! The effects loopp is very good, I have used a couple of stomp boxes in the loop, but with the versatillity of this amp, who needs anything? I, like most other reviewers, wish it had a better way to shape the EQ on each channel seperately. A small thing at the low cost of these amps. I have liked my Line 6 212, but this seems to do all the 6 does and some things better. I have gigged in large venues, approxiamtely two baketball court sizes with no need to go over about 1/2 volumn!! With a 4-10" cabinet I have by Peavey it seems to shout very loudly when asked to do so. I cannot wait to find an extension cabinet made by Tech21 for this, I believe it is called the Power engine?

The sounds from this can be dreamy-creamy or crystal clear and bright, all the way down to heavy sounding distortion on channel 2. The "fendery" channel 1 has a nice smooth over driven sound too if I need it! I use a Guild Burnside semi-solid body, and my 25 year vetean Mexican Strat. They both give me great and multi varied tones! I even tried my Liberty acoustic electric resonator, and got some great slide sounds out of it!! None of my guitars have anything but the OEM pick-ups, one with single coils and the other with Humbuckers. I'll bet this guitar would shine with anything thru it! I think all Blues players should sell their heavy tube amps and give in to this great little amp. I have a little noise with the trebel cranked too high, say over 3:00 o-clock, but nothing I can't deal with in any setting I play in. The distrotion when dialed all the way up gives a kind of hissiness, but tI think that is outside interferrence thru the pick-ups.

I have used this for a little over a year now, and have NEVER had a problem with anything. My Line 6 Spyder 212 won't come on after unloading from a cold auto until it warms. Not this baby tho', plug it in and play. I think the cabinet is strong enough to last foreven, even if I was destructive to it, which I am not. Going wireless seems to be faultless with this too, altho' my Lind 6 sometimes cuts out when using wireless. This thing is a light weight TANK!

I sent an e-mail to them shortly after I bought it, and their response was immediate, with-in minutes, and their help with my setting questions, and to the availabillity of amp covers was friendly, professional, and beyond any other customer service I have EVER received! These guys love to help, and love their product, but then how could you not love it?

I have been playing since I ws 5 and I am 52 now. This has replaced my Peavey and Line 6 and a fender Twin Reverb from about '66 I think. This sounds great with just a little tweaking with any guitar, electric or acoustic, that I wish to push thru it! I would have to find a way to get another one if this were lost or stolen (altho' I don't know that the prison commissary would sell them after I slaughtered the guy that touched it!) Once again, if this came with a seperate EQ for each channel it would be all 10's in my opinion!

I think it's versatile enough for me.I play mostly rock-oriented stuff.But sometimes I want to go a bit more heavy.It has two channels,independent midrange controls and a master eq section.also it has a footswitch for switching between channels and boosting.

I'm using this amp at home,I think it's OK for home usage.But you can't play it very loud coz it has really lots of power!

I think they should have added a pad switch for altering the ouput of SANSAMP out.It's -20dB padded and you can't use it direct if you haven't got a mic pre.Though they say the headphones out and Sansamp out are the same,I don't think they are.They sounded very different to me.Now I'm using it with M-Audio AudioBuddy Preamp.I think no one can tell the difference between mic'ed and direct :)

I think if you like some metal stuff you shouldn't buy this amp.It's not for heavy metalers!But if you put a hi-gain distortion pedal it'd be OK for that genre of music.

I'm using it with my custom handmade electric guitar,(SH-2 and SH-4 pups)I think it's a lot more better to use this amp with moderate output pickups and preferly maple fingerboard.

I've never used it on stage but I know lots of guys using it on stage for years:)

This is the newest version of the amp, with 4-10" speakers. It was made in 2006. Everyone knows about the versatility of these. If you don't, move to planet earth and pay attention! The foot pedal is just phenomenal. You can swithch channels and program for up to 6db of volume boost on either channel. I don't know how I ever lived without this feature. The reverb is accutronics, and is very good. This has enough power and cleanliness for jazz, and we've tested it playing hard, hard, rock.It's a killer in any category.

I've always liked the sound of the Tech 21. Contrary to everything that Bose has ever done, I think that you need to move a certain amount of air to get a good full sound. This has it all over the 1-12" cabinet, which is the best non tube amp I had played before this. All sounds are first rate at all volume levels. It is surprisingly ballsy with distortion. I use it with an archtop with a Benedetto pickup for big band. The sound is superb. I also use it with an Epiphone Casino with p-90's, and a Godin Artisan with 3 blade humbuckers. It kicks. The most amazing thing is that you get this very full sound, and the amp weighs under 50 lbs!

Tech 21 has one of the best reputations for reliability. That's one of the reasons that I bought it. I never take a backup when I gig.

I ordered this off of the drawing board. The tech support from the company was first rate. They replied to all of my questions in a timely fashion.

I've been playing for 37 years. I've sold all my other amps except for an old Roland JC50 that will never die. This one amp does it all incredibly well.I took a chance, because they weren't even in production when I ordered it.I've always loved the sound of 4-10" speakers for guitar, but needed something lightweight and reliable. This does it. I only have one very minor complaint. The foot pedal has to be plugged in to get the best jazz sound. There is a very slight amount of distortion if you don't do this. I also wish they made a cover for it, but I'm going to have one made. I would buy it again, and don't even think about another amp.

This amp is a versatile little beast,despite the relatively small control panel and humble layout.This amp covers a lot of tonal areas, mainly down to the powerful and sensative eq.
2 channels.
Mid eq is replaced by "punch" on CH1 and "growl" on CH2.
Headphone out, Excellent DI out.
The most useful feature to me is the footswitchable volume boost.
Tones are overall good and extremely solid/powerful.
I play prog metal a la Dream Theater and Opeth.
Good quality reverb.
Bite and Weep buttons for tonal coloring.
FX loop.
Very loud amp for the size and as it is solid state.

I would to see a gain boost on this amp, apart from that, good features.

I mainly play heavy rock and prog metal.This amp is versatile enough to cover these styles tonally aswell as Porcupine Tree's high quality clean tones.However gain freaks (such as myself)may not find enough distortion and sustain in channel 2,which is the modern sounding channel.The crunch tones however are brilliant!Strangely though, a huge amount of distortion and sustain can be coaxed from the "clean" channel however this distortion is more vintage sounding.CH 1 is versatile because of the Drive knob which increases gain and also changes the texture of the drive.This amp has a meaty sounding drive and a sparkling clean channel.Sometimes it can be hard to believe there are no tubes in this thing.The weep button adds a thickness to it and a Paul Gilbert-ish flavour to channel 2's sound.This amp does try to imitate a lot of different amps's sounds.It has a very diverse range of tones,however,they are not amazing but they are pretty damn good.This amp maintains the sound of of your guitar like a good tube amp.However if you want to shred with this amp you will not get away with bad technique because it is so revealing.Channel 2 needs a lot more gain to sound like a MESA,which it tries to emulate.
Overall for the price and the diverse range of tone you cannot really complain too much about the sounds from this amp.

The pots started crackling a year after I got it. The handel came off and I will get that repaired somehow.Sometimes the speaker cuts out which is very annoying.The effects loop cuts out too.

7 years playing.I own POD XT Live and lots of good guitars and lots of other stuff.I used to have a Laney amp and a marshall DSL401.Im gonna buy an ENGL Powerball.You might like to check out the Ashdown Fallen Angel amps if you are after good tube amps with a lot of gain at the sameprice range.

Look to the other reviews for the in depth features rundown. I think the amp's true standout feature is it's versatility. It works on stage and in the studio. Balanced out to the console is excellent. Yes..it's very light to move around.

OK. I owned this amp for a little over a year. I've had some success with it and I've had some struggles with it. As a tone machine it is quite respectable and does a good job of covering the BIG THREE amp types, namely Fender (clean/overdrive), Marshall(overdrive/crunch/distortion) and Mesa Boogie (saturated grind/metal.) The reverb is not spectacular but it is pleasing enough. As a practice amp it is probably one of the best. For recording it really shines. My problem with this amp is that I could never really tune it properly for live shows. It just seemed to be lacking something. In the end it just left me cold. I wound up selling it yesterday and I kept a Roland Blues Cube 60 that I picked up two months ago. Comparing the two, I just liked the sound of the Roland better so I sold the T60sometimes .

Excellent build quality for such a lightweight amp. I would gig w/o a backup. I never used a backup to tell you the truth. I don't know anyone who brings a backup amp.

I've been playing since about 1985. I own a Fender Deluxe, a Blues Cube, Fender Blues Jr and a Roland micro cube. I use a Korg G1 for heavy distortion but mostly I just go into the amp with the guitar. I'm not a big pedal guy. I bought the T60 because of its reputation but I found the Roland Blues Cube actually sounded much more like my Fender tube amps. In fact, the little Roland MicroCube cops a pretty good AC 30 vibe to tell the truth. I'm not dissing the T60. It's a sweet amp. I just found something I liked better in the end.

The amp was made in 2001 and I have been using it for the last 5 years. It is plenty versatile for my needs (small gigs, jamming, teaching; blues, rock, jazz guitar). The amp has two channels with a foot swich to control both channel switch, boost and effects loop i/o. An XLR jack for direct out recording, a headphone jack and a speaker jack for adding an extra cab. A very good reverb section is also included.

It has plenty of power for gigs and jams while it still sounds good at a low enough volume for teaching. Also, the direct out solves my home studio recording issue of not being able to get a good amp tone to the board without keeping the family up.

Also, the fact that it wieghs less than 40lbs makes it a great 'portable' amp without sacrificing sound nor power. This factor alone drew me to consider this amp in the first place.

Paul Reed Smith CE24, vintage treble and bass PRS pickups. I play a mix of music depending on the group I am jamming with or the students' requests for songs they are learning. This amp is quiet (the only time I get noise is when using stomp boxes in the effects loop).

I have changed my 'default' tone on the amp as it has suited my mood or style, but have not run out of different tones it can produce. Recently I did a gig opening for an awards ceremony and played Hendrix' version of the Star Spangled Banner. The tone was spot on. Feedback was perfect! The day after, a student wanted to learn "Oriental Melody" by Satch. I dialed in the tone on the amp and had a tone that matched (minus the echo/delay and chorus) within moments. I can only echo my student's opinion, 'wow, that was easy and it sounds awesome!".

The clean channel is a bit 'tight' with the PRS pick ups at 10 and the amp at a high volume. However, dialing back the guitar or using a single coil strat I get smooth clean tones without any distortion on the clean Fender settings. Be sure to disengage the Bite switch on Channel 1 if you want ultra clean sounds.

Channel 2 can go from clean jazzy tones with a little meat to full on Hendrix tone just by dialing in the right settings. Also, the weep switch gives you more options on the tone. On full on "crank it to 11 and yank the knobs off" settings you can get a decent metal tone. Although to make it really scream I'd recommend a distortion pedal up front and a compressor (Tech 21's comptortion works well for this in a single box)

In 2001 I sold all my equipment and started from scratch. I picked up a PRS (a guitar I had wanted since they were first released) and in looking for an Amp found the T60 at a local store. I bought it and have not used another amp since. I have had only one time I had any issue with it and that was user error in setting up a sound. (I did contact Tech 21 on the issue and resolve the tonal issue in seconds after getting their response).

The amp has performed flawlessly and I am constantly impressed with it's tone, versatility and the fact that I can go to a student's house and get in and out in one trip to the car.

I have had one support contact (see above) and the company was prefessional, prompt and courteous. Given the problem was essentially an "RTFM" issue, they were not condescending nor annoyed. They genuinely seemed to care and offered service immediately if the recommendations did not resolve the problem.

I have contacted them for other "hey can I..." questions on how to get to a specific tone both pre and post sales and even though these were not "I have a problem" questions, I received the same level of responsiveness. The fact that they truly care about their customers has made me a lifelong customer. I own three of their other products and each one has performed as advertized and without issue.

I have been playing for 26 yrs and have owned a number of amps, guitars, effects, etc. Currently I run a lean sound chain on all of my instruments. For my guitar I have the Tech 21 T60, the XXL distortion pedal and the comptortion pedal to augment sounds. I use the SansAmp Bass DI to record my bass direct to the board. The XLR out on the T60 and the weight of the amp were two primary factors that made me even consider purchasing the amp since I was looking to mostly do home recordings and small jams at the time.

If it were lost or stolen I'd pick up another one. I love the tone, the versatility, the fact I can carry it with one hand, the footswitch, reverb. The list goes on. It may not be perfect for everyone, but it definitely suits my needs.

I looked at the line 6 amps when I was checking out this amp, but even though they had more features (built in effects) the cost and weight of those amps precluded me from pciking them.

The company is awesome, their support is superb and their products (or at least my experience with them) have been flawless.

As described by others. A bit tricky to get the right settings on the EQ, as it is shared between the channels.

As mentioned earlier, sudden losses of power/volume can be an issue with the T60. No longer a problem. The tip i got from Loyd did the trick (look further down ).

Thanks for your inquiry. That sounds like dirty Effect Send and Return jacks... even if you don't use them, the signal always passes through. So if the contacts oxidize (possibly from a humid environment), there will be an interruption of the signal.

You can check whether this is the cause of your cut-outs by running a short guitar cable from the Effect Send right back into the Effect Return (a sort of "jumper") to open the jacks. If the amp sounds fine that way you'll know you only need to spray a little bit of DeOxit or similar electronic component contact cleaner in the jacks and then jam a 1/4" cable plug in and out a few times. That usually does the trick.

The Tech 21 Trademark 60 combo has all the features I was looking for in a lightweight 1x12 combo amp including: a pristine warm clean channel, a versatile dirty channel, a thick rich reverb and plenty of headroom for medium sized gigs. The Tech 21 Trademark 60 combo has delivered that and a lot more. In addition to its great sound, it has features that allow it to be used in a variety of settings including; a practice amp, a gigging amp and a studio amp. It sounds great at low or high volumes. It has excellent headroom for a 60 watt 1x12 amp. The XLR out can be fed directly into a mixer for live shows or recording. The headphone jack allows late night practicing without disturbing the family or neighbors. The foot switch provides access to a great boost feature for those times when a little more punch is needed when playing live. The amount of boost can be set from 0 to 9db. The boost feature can also be linked to the reverb via a push button switch. Another feature that is very cool is the XLR our can be fed into a Tech 21 Power Engine 60. It is like adding another 60 watts of amp and another 1x12" speaker. The PW 60 can be daisy chained over and over for more modular power at a very reasonable cost.

This amp absolutely shines in the sound quality department. The really great thing about this amp is that both the clean and dirty channels are excellent. I like the way the tone can be shaped on both of these channels. Its like having several amps in one without the complexity of a modeling amp. As my tastes change or as the room conditions vary, the amp can be set to accommodate the needed tone. While there is a single master tone control for low and high frequencies, the clean channel has a Bite switch. This allows me to set the dirty channel's tone (using the master low and high controls) and then switch to the clean channel and engage the Bite if I need a brighter sound. The amp is used for Vintage Rock, Blues and Metal. This amp accepts single coil or humbucker equally well. No prejudice there. My son likes to run the Tech 21 amp's XLR output through the PA which yields a very heavy metal sound on the dirty channel.

Excellent. My first Tech 21 amp blew the fuse in the power cord connector. It turns out the power strip I was using had a short in it and would have fried the amp but the fuse saved it. Put in a new fuse and threw away the bad power strip. No problems since. I always bring a backup amp (and guitar). No exceptions.

Called for pre-sales support and got my questions answered by a knowledgeable person (Yes it was Lloyd).

I have been playing guitar for 42 of my 52 years. First amp was a 1965 Fender Bassman and my 3rd guitar was a 1967 Les Paul. I have been through a few of amps and guitars since then. My Carvin CT6T and Carvin DC127T sound incredible through this amp. The amp only weights 35 lbs and is quite compact, great for gigging and lugging to practice.

I have worn out two pairs of shoes running around evaluating amps in the last couple of years, glad I found the Tech 21 for my sole's sake.

How much do I really like this amp? Well I sold ALL my other amps and bought a second Tech 21 Trademark 60 combo for my son who loves it. He's 15 and has been playing 8 years.

The design features of this amp make it an excellent choice for both studio and gigging musicians.

I bought my Tech 21 from Mars Music in Nashville, TN back in 1998. The amp gives me what I want, a good clean tone, and a santana like blues lead tone. I play a '97 std tele through a wah right into the amp. I never had any problems with my effects loop. For a couple of years, it needed a good cleaning. Deox and a can of air did the trick. I've played so many hours of music at performance/stage volume. The amp is 8 years old! I'm still on the road, play every weekend. I know that at this point my reverb tank fritzes out so I just don't use it. I compose a variety of styles of songs, ranging from funk, reggae, ska, punk, rock, emo, soul. I just keep writing and the amp keeps rockin'. It's got plenty of power for the dives and small rooms I play. But even hitting the festivals, it sounds great. Anywhere, where they mic your amp you should be just fine. I stand next to the drummer most of the time and my tele cuts through with the tech 21 trademark 60. 60 watts. 1X12". 2 channels. boost, mic/line out. effects loop. tri-way effects loop.

tele, standard, single coil. get a power conditioner. use good strings, it effects tone. This amp has dynamics! play softly, it sounds softer. Play rough, gets more responsive. You'll find some tones in there, but warning, what you like immediately, might change with time.

Well, my amp is 8 years old, bought new in 1998. Only had problems when it was dirty. playing shows in dirt fields with hippies kicking up dirt everywhere! Open it up and clean that crap out! reverb tank has a ground or cable problem. I've abandoned it. You really don't miss the reverb anyway. a holy grail pedal is far far surpassing the actual reverb of the amp.

warranty expired a while ago. Never used tech21 tech support.

I've been playing music all my life. guitar for ten years now. I'd love to own another one. You know, when you're gigging alot. It gets hard to pick up your marshall 4X10 or your vintage fender twin 2X10--but with the 22 pound tech 21 trademark 60, my back is still intact. No tubes to buy every couple of months too!

The features aren't to bad. This amp takes a little getting use to. It's wise to read the manual over and over again to get the full effects of this amp. It was a little confusing with the Master EQ select knobs. this is the first amp I've owned without a Bass/Treble/Midrange knobs.

I tried both my Les Paul and Strat while using this amp. Face it, for a 1x12 amp you're not going to get the full sound of a stack or even a 2x12 cabinet. I just bought this for practice anyway. If I ever use it out giggin I plan on hooking it into my Marshall 4x12 bottom. Lloyd at T-21 said that would be ok, but he also suggested I buy one of their 4x12 bottoms. I don't know if that's a sales pitch or not...but I'll stick with my Marshall. Noise......hummmmmm..well yeah. Maybe it was a ground issue when I used my Strat. no big deal, just try a Furman or something. The Clean channel did sound quite nice with both guitars, and the distortion was ass kickin with my Les Paul. The settings sections in the back of the manual is a smart idea. I wish more amp companies would do that too.

Here's the problem! I bought this off of Musicians Friend as a Blem item. When I got it out of the box I plugged into it and started playing. after about 30 secs the volume dropped like a cheap radio on an AM station. So I called T-21 and got to talk to Lloyd. I told him the story and he said that Blem items are not covered under warranty from MF. He told me that before I send it back, try a few things that might clear up the problem. He said the jacks could be dirty from sittng in a warehouse or box somewhere. I did what he told me and the problem seemed to fix itself. He also told me that if I did need to send the unit back it would be a approximate cost of 25 bucks. Let's not forget shipping! Anyway, I decide to keep the amp for now. The next week I get to practice and hook up my pedal chain into the effects loop.....amp craps out again. I unplug the pedals and go with straight foot switch effects and it worked???. Back to square one. Make a long story short.......it works fine now with pedals or without.

Next problem. I call MF and ask what the return policy is for returning my amp? The guy on the phone asks what the problem is. I gave him my story and he proceeds to tell me that it was a Blem item.....Well yeah! But Blem or not the dam thing should work. Blem to me means a few dings here or there. but the product should work! He also tells me that it is covered under warranty from MF. I told him I just talked to Lloyd at T-21 and he says it isn't. This guy from MF tells me that Lloyd is mis-informed and I need to speak to someone else. I proceed to tell him that I personally talked to the Product Manager Lloyd and whatever Lloyd says goes! So anyway I'm asking Junior what I need to do about sending this back I told him this whole purchase for now has been a bad trip. this guy gets an attitude with me saying I should expect that from a Blem item. Back up Pal. Number one, yes I know it's a Blem. It still needs to be functional. Two, I see these things all day long on Ebay for 300.00/new plus 35.00 shipping. I paid 400.00 as a Blem item. As far as T-21 and Lloyd go....He was a true professional, he stayed on the phone with me until I asked everything I needed to know. You couldn't ask for better customer service. Those Pricks from Hiwatt, Vox and even Junior from MF need to take lessons from Lloyd on how to deal with current or potential customers! Thanks a Million Lloyd

I must say that since Lloyd went out of his way to work this thing out with me I plan on buying another T-21 amp. probably the new TM-60 with the 4x10's in it. I also might add that if you guys and gals are looking for new equipment, you need to do your homework. these reviews from here and ever Musician's Friend are the best tool we have out there for anyone looking for support. Other than that...happy hunting.

Brand new. 2005 model. Excellent. I've no problem with the shared EQ. Celestion 70-80 does the trick!

Excellent for country and rock/blues stuff. Uee it with Telecaster and a humbicking guitar.

Power cuts in and out. For example volume (say on level 6) suddenly and without warning drops to 2 or 3 volume level. VERY embarrassing! No effects were plugged in... it just drops and I panic. Volume comes up after 2 or 3 seconds but I should charge a reliability factor of "1" or "0" but it does work most of the time. Won't return to Tech 21 (people indicate that even with a warranty they charge you). Great sound but don't count on it.

Always responive in e-mails.

fix the structural integrity issue(s) and you've got a mean machine. Just don't count on it for until the company says: HEY, WE'VE FIXED THE RELIABILITY ISSUES!!!

Anything else I'd want would increase cost and thus price point, but for what you get in versatility of tone I would have paid more for:

- Seperate EQ for each channel
- Built in tuner
- Effects loop volume control
- Reverb not tied to boost(?)
- The oblique "weep", "growl", "bite" and "punch" features are useless until you read the manual. I understand them but the names and panel layout need to be more intuitive. Especially for the retail shopper.

I play blues/jazz with mostly a PRS McCarty/P-90's into a 535Q wah, Ernie Ball volume, TS-9 (w/Keeley Deluxe Mod package), Boss CE-2 (w/Keeley Speedy Mod) in effects loop. I've been messing around with Line 6 lately but just couldn't get passed the "synthetic" vibe. Great "amp-ersonations" (parody?) of the real things, but just not the real things. I have a Boogie MKIV (LOUD!). I've had Fender Twins, a Yamaha 115 (horrible! as an SS). I was considering a Traynor but decided on this based on reviews here, at MF and that weight,(36lbs). I've owned a SansBass for several years.

Like fine wine and women, tone is subjective.
This to me, pumping it with a TS-9, is TONE NIRVANA.
Based on my 30 years doing this - just my opinion.
I get complimented on my sound constantly; even from people who wouldn't know the difference can tell, if you know what I mean.
It just seems to stand out from the crowd.
Nothing has ever been a 10 for me, until now.

The spring reverb was busted loose in shipping. Had to re-attach it.
This is NOT "built like a tank".
Again, that would cost more, which I'd pay.
No problems so far in functionality/operation and I don't expect any.

They say Lloyd is the GOD of support.
Hope I never have to find out.

If there was a value rating I'd give this an 11 just for the variable tone qualities alone. My plan is to buy the Power Engine and run stereo through a GigaDelay. If you're a tube snob this is NOT the amp for you. You guys cringe just knowing your not playing through anything but tubes. I dare anyone to take a blind fold test against Fender, Marshall, Vox or Mesa. This amp has been around for years and yet still seems to be a dirty little secret among non-tube biased (hey, a nifty pun!) guitarists everywhere. It's a player's amp. Les Paul plays through it! NUFF SAID!

I must admit, I'm a little bitter as I write this. I read the reviews and bought one of these amps. I was happy with it at bedroom volume. However, my new Trademark 60 just cut out and then died on me during a show. Total nightmare situation. I will never use another Tech 21 amp again because I just can't trust it. I've read other reviews which mention this but I just didn't pay attention. My mistake, and it won't happen again.

Clean and dirty. It does sound good, when it works.

Big, big problem. The entire thing COMPLETELY died on me in the first 25 minutes of a set... cut out and then nothing. Zero. DO NOT TRUST THIS AMP WITHOUT A BACKUP.

I've been playing 15 years and have had all kinds of amps. This one has been babied yet has seriously let me down on it's first night out of the house. I've had other amps that cut out like this and it's totally unacceptable.

New 2005.Features have been well documented on this site.As others have noted,Tech 21 is now shipping these amps with celestion seventy 80 speakers.I have heard older models and any change in sound is not noticeable.Lack of seperate EQ for each channel is this amps weakness.If you want to use live and switch back and forth between clean and distortion they are hard to match up,as the distortion channel always seems dark and lifeless.An outboard EQ will help get around this,but that can become bothersome.I have had this amp for almost a year now and have quit using the distortion channel .The clean side is really what sold me on the amp anyway,so I now just get my dirty sounds from stomp boxs.The line out is very nice,and I use it often.A 7 may seem a little low considering that the amp has a lot of useful features,but I have to be honest,and the lack of seperate EQ for each channel flaws this otherwise great little amp.

I use the Trademark 60 with both a Les Paul and a older strat.They both sound nice,but as with any amp you have to compensate for the guitars different output levels.As I stated before,I bought this amp for the clean channel.It really is just about as close as you are going to get to a good tube clean tone without the expense and other considerations in owning tube gear.Notice I said close,as good as this amp sounds,in an A/B comparison I am sure you could tell the difference,but in a live mix I doubt anyone could tell that it is solid state.I use the Bite switch at practice levels and turn it off when cranking the amp up as it can give some nasty high frequency overtones when playing single notes in the upper register.The distortion side is very full sounding at quiot practice levels and sounds better through the line-out than the speaker.It is not touch sensitive like a good tube amp though,and I find I can get better dirty tones thru a good stomp box.All in all the amps clean channel is a great foundation for building almost any tone.Well worth the price of the amp.I have noticed that the FX loop and reverb add some noise, that could be a problem in the studio, but are not an issue when using live.

After owning the amp for 5 months it fried-out.I called Tech 21 and the man who took my call imformed me I would have to pull out the insides from the amp and pay to ship it to them for repair. I was not thrilled about that,but the turn-around on the repair was very short.About one week total.Since then it has been fine.I guess time will tell.Having bought a solid state amp I was hoping for better reliability.

As noted, they fixed my amp in short order and they were nice enough on the phone.I still think the custumer should not get stuck with shipping costs for warrenty repairs.Just my opnion.

Ive been playing as an amature and semi-pro for nearly 40 year.Scary.As most, I have gone through a good amount of gear.The only things I have kept and will not part with are my two guitars and a 65 super Reverb. The Super stays in my den.The Trademark 60 has turned-out to be one of my wisest purchases.You need to spend some time getting used to the controls,but there are a wealth of great tones to be had from this little amp.Well worth the price.

Features all covered. 2 channels, one shared master tone section. Loop, pedal, XLR direct out with ground lift (cool), 1x12. Good spring reverb, no other effects (needed). Very versatile. I've been playing for 25 or so years, music performance degree, music ed degree yadda yadda.

I play many different kinds of guitars into this amp. Like many amps, it has its favorites, but it's fine with almost anything. I've had this amp for 5 or 6 years. Been in and out of love with it several times. I've had Bogners, Guytrons, Marshalls, Boogies, Fenders etc. There are two reasons I love this amp. One is that it has a legitimate tube feel and response. With a fender setting, using some fulltone pedals, you get the sponge and glass of a real fender. Unlike digital amps (which I'm not slamming). Which seems to suck the notes from you. The second is that EVERY time I've used this, I've gotten compliments on my sound. I've always been "yeah, it's OK for a little junk amp." With top-notch gear, it wasn't any better, sometimes much worse. But after years of struggling with top-of-the-line gear, I finally got it. It feels great, it sounds great. That's what I want. You can't compare it to the magic, transcendent experience of, say, a 59-62 fender bassman or whatever, but that's not the point of this amp. It does what it's supposed to do in spades, with musicality and playability, so it can't do worse than a ten.

No problems. Send the chassis back to Lloyd once because of some problem with the tone. They cleaned it out, sent it back (free!). I was miffed because it still sounded horrible. Turns out my Fulltone Fulldrive had crapped out.

As good as it gets. Lloyd is a god. Just does what is needed, and always get back to you. Even if you get in his face a little (like I did with the Fulltone issue) he's never anything but great.

This amp does what it's supposed to do. The sounds are in there. The feel is there. Direct it's awesome, and in the mix it's a real amp as far as anyone is concerned. Some people have issues with whatever, and that's the way music and musicianship is. But I have grown into a love affair with this amp enough to have gone and bought the TM120, and the TM30 as well. My boutique, great amps have been sitting there, but are slowly being sold off. Which to me, tells me a lot. It's not a Line 6, and doesn't pretend to be. I've owned those too and had to ditch them. Versatile, hell yes! But I always plugged into the TM60 when I wanted to "have fun." Get this amp, a Boss CE-50 or whatever and you are set. I also highly recommend the Fulltone Fat-Boost and Fulldrive if you are a fender clean freak/Marshall Plexi like me.
