This is a follow up to my review of this amp from last year, posted under Tone King Meteor 40 112 Combo (because that seemed to be where all TK Meteor reviews were dumped). All I can add, feature-wise, is that every control on this amp exacts tremendous variety in tones. One note, gleened from Tone King's finally-updated website, is that the #1891 speaker is custom made for Tone King by Eminence and is a hemp cone delight! This explains the sweet smooth tone even further. Once again, despite what seem to be "mutations" of the half-power feature out there, this one only provides the half-power feature on the Lead Channel, where it belongs. Those who want 20 watts on both channels can get a Meteor 20 or Imperial.

I keep finding new "sweet spots" on this amp, with each guitar that I use; Heritage 535, Fender Am Dlx Strat (stock Vintage Noisless) and an Aria Pro II FA-71. For the Soul/funk/R&b outfit that I've spent the last year with, the strat/BF Deluxe Reverb tone has ruled, to the delight of both audience and band, as well as to the envy of any guitarists in attendance. But, the tone that moves me the most is the combo of Heritage 535 with the Lead channel set up like a classic tweed Deluxe; Tone set about half-way, Volume at about 6-8 and Mid-Bite off or up to about 2. Sooooo smooth and sweet; nice round top end, yet lush. I have kept the Weber Beam Blocker in place (cause it sounds great and I'd rather play than unscrew the speaker to remove it!), but can tell that it would still be nice and round without the WBB. So much variety in what is still a very PURE TONE MACHINE.

No Problems. None. Zilch. Gig 4-6 times or more per month and rehearse 2-3 times per week. Not even a bad tube yet.

Mark Bartel defines Customer Support. Lifetime Warranty; are you kidding me?! Guy even gave me his cell # once. No you can't get it from me.

Overall Rating : 10
Still the best amp I've heard, for PURE TONE. And every guitarist I've met that's heard it agrees and wants one. I grant you, it doesn't do Boogie. But, I've got to say that, as an admiring owner of a Fuchs Overdrive Supreme 100 (which is the NUTS for sweet overdrive!!), the Tone King would remain my one final amp; It's light weight doesn't hurt either! My Fuchs is a mod of an old Fender Twin....69 pounds, unevenly distributed, up and down narrow stairways gets old real quick, man! The tone is just so pure (did I mention that before?). Give me the Tone King, the Heritage 535, an EarCandy Cable, a few dozen sets of D'Addario XL 11's and leave me alone.

This amp has every feature and then some for pure tone scientists.
The half power cut switch is highly desirable when using the lead channel as it creates natural overdrive sonic Heaven. When using the rhythym channel you have tons of crystal clear headroom at 40watts without encountering shrill, thin, nasty tones as you would in any other amp I've ever used. Lots of friendly frequencies at any volume on either channel. Tremelo is organic, noiseless and warm but clear.
the dynamics of the swells are perfectly uneven, but yet in time.
Masterpiece.

Guitar used is custom masterbuilt fender stratocaster built by one man: Alan Hamel. Vintige noiseless pickups. Effects: MJM and 1 fulltone. The sound of the amp is the best I've ever heard. I've played through all of them. The Meteor shames my modded Marshall and fenders, Voxes, etc.....
THE HOLY GRAIL OF TONE HERE PEOPLE

Reliability : 10
The amp is painstakingly built with military grade components, not to mention being hand wired point to point and class a circuitry.
I've never seen an amp so well thought out.
This is not a mass produced assembly line piece of garbage with big White letters as a logo. Amp companys today aren't what they used to be, The Logo has replaced quality components.

Respect and prompt service: which is rare when dealing with the master of an artform. Thanks for everything Mark B.

If it were stolen I'd put an order in for the exact same model(6v6)
I'd be sour in using a replacement in the meatime.
