This model was custom designed in 2002. This amp is used primarily for rhythm and blues and funk. It is a single channel amp with normal and brite inputs. The single channel amp is Class A with 4 EL84's. The entire circuit is point to point with terminal lugs. The Navigator drives a vibrato with more swing than the traditional Fender type. Definitely a cool vibe. The tone controls are treble and bass with a cut switch that tones down the highs for transition fro single coils to humbuckers. Though it is 25 watts, the amp sounds good from 11'oclock to wide open. The more you drive it, the better it responds. The amp came with a tube rectifier but I've replaced it with a solid state one. The headroom is cleaner and tighter and the volume control on the guitar does the rest. This amp has great lead sounds and makes playing fun. The two twelve eminence legends put out a great rhythm and lead sound.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I play several guitars from a PRS McCarty to 52 tele reissues and Les Paul Customs and artisans. The humbucker might be too strong for the rhythm sounds but the single coils are clean to screaming. The Mc Carty has a JB in the bridge position and a Dimarzio Virtual Paf in the Neck. The response is cleaner than a Les Paul and chunks up for leads without any pedals. The amp haa a slight amount of hum, but not a problem even though that's typical for class A.. This amp has a British vibe because of no negative feedback. The tone controls are very reponsive and sound the best at 12 o'clock

Reliability : No Opinion

So far Randy Jamz has been genuinely concerned. The amp came with quality components and spare rectifier tubes. He said that the amp has full warranty for the first year. I don't expect any problems.

I've been playing for over 35 years and have a 64 Blackface Concert and a 65 RI Deluxe.. The amp has its own vibe, very different from the Fender. I wanted the El84's to run hot and agressive. The amp looks very boutique with purple vinyl and gold plated hardware. The basket weave grill looks great. The cosmetics on this amp are very meticulous and appealing. I'm very impresses with the workmanship and quality of the chrome plated chassis and wiring. Rany Jamz has a definite amp building forte which is quickly being recognized. I would definitely say it compares to a Vox Ac 30 with more attitude and vibe. The combo puts out serious juice and makes guitar playing fun. I have total confidence in the design and layout of this prototype. Randy has a grat website at Tone Lizard. com. Check it out and find out about Tone Lizard Amps for yourself
