TopHat Royale

This amp is very versatile delivering classic Fender, Vox and Marshall tones that work for ALL styles of rock and roll as well as the occasional jazz or country gig. 2 Channel amp with AC30 and AC30 top boost voicings. Optional effects loop, Celestion G12M and G12H speakers. Channel swithching is not required with this amp, however, I occasionally use an A/B box to access both channels. This amp is definitely loud enough for any indoor club gig. This amp is class A using four EL84's and a GZ34 or 5U4 tube rectifier.

This amp is clean at low settings, Voxy at mid power settings and screams like a Marshall Plexi at high volume settings. The simple volume-tone channel delivers perfect laid back old AC30 sounds. Distortion is smooth and creamy due to the saturated class-A output section. I use it with an assortment of vintage instruments including 68 Les Paul, 57 Strat re-issue and F-Hole thin line Tele.

Very dependabble, never had a problem once. However I always bring a supply of extra tubes no matter where I go. The people at TopHat are very helpful and provide excelent support after the purchase.

I would say I would definitely buy this amp again and would suggest others at least take a listen to it as well. I liked it much better than the Matchless DC30 that I sold to get the TopHat.
