A '98 bought as new old stock. Not a lot of features, but all you need. If you are an SRV type who likes to play guitar through a bass amp, this halfway point is what you want! Loud enough, if it isn't you'll be miking your amps anyway. Everyone knows those walls of amps Zep and the like used are for show... It seems like the clean pre-amp and post are Trace Elliot signature bass amps, but the gain boost pre-amp is all guitar, so you can play either or both from one amp.

I have coil tapped pickups, and this sounds killer single or doubled. The reverb is unique and beautiful, I didn't even know anyone still made real spring reverb! (If you haven't cranked up the volume on a spring reverb amp and kicked the side of it Pete-Townshend-style, you're missing out on an AWESOME noise...) No other effects, but if you're the type that cares THAT much about your effects, I bet you have pedals...

It's solid state and 15 watts. What could go wrong??? Go ahead, kick it, it's fun...

It's a 2 year warranty, but even though it was made a decade ago Trace still honored it. Can't ask more than that.

If nothing else, it's a GREAT home recording preamp, you can record bass and guitar through it and all is groovy. If you just HAVE to have a wall of 4x12's behind you, it does have a speaker-output, so there. Best C-note you could possibly spend on an amp.
