I play a Marshall TSL100. I also play a Mesa DC-3. My primary guitar is a Strat Plus. I took the TSL100 to try out the cabinet. Since I bought this used, I was thinking of what lines I would use to talk this guy down on his price. I plugged in & turned the amp on in the clean channel, This amp was so phatt that I was blown away by the bottom end immediately. I paid the guy what he was asking. I had no grounds to talk him down. I went in to my crunch & lead channels and was equally blown away. Not only is this amp phatt, It's highs were so bright, I had to back way off on my treble settings on the amp. I then took the amp to band practice where I was using the Mesa DC-3. I have a 60 watt EV speaker in the DC-3 & ran both together as did the guy at the top of the page and was very impressed with the out put from that also. I play in a variety band doing covers including Sublime, Bush, Puddle of Mudd, Incubus, No doubt, Doors,SRV etc. We are a 3 piece w/ a female singer also. My 4x12 is too big for most of the clubs we do & have been running the TSL 100 thru the 1x12 of the mesa having a back up amp available on the spot if needed. The Mesa will stay in the truck & the 2x12 will provide that extra fullness I didn't have with the 1x12.

As the guy above me said, "It's a speaker cabinet!!!" I always carry a back up. There is no worse feeling that being 100 miles from home & your rig is not working. No slam on this product, just better safe than sorry!

I have been playing for 34 years. I use a Vox Wah, Danelectro Coll Cat Chorus, Boss Flange & the Worm. I Use an Alesis Midiverb IV in my FX loop. I like it alot so far but have logged only 4 or 5 hours into it. That was just yesterday though. I couldn't wait to get it home from practice to hook the Marshall back up to it. & played for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I think I like it!!!

Dual input sockets and a mono/ stereo switch. In mono mode one socket is 4 Ohm and the other 16 Ohm. In stereo mode both sockets are 8 Ohm, with one being left channel and the other right.
This switching and dual socket arrangement lends itself to a wide range of connection possiblities. I use a Trace Elliot Bonneville C50 combo to dirve this cab. I use one 16 Ohm output socket from the amp to connect to the 16 Ohm socket of the cab, and the other 16 Ohm socket of the amp to drive the 16 Ohm combo 12" speaker.

Connected as described above, it gives a great sound due to the combination of the 1 x 12" in an open backed cab on top of the 2 x 12" speakers in the closed-back cab. It fills out the bottom end richness beautifully without losing punch, tightness or definition. It also moves a lot more air than the single speaker.
One other advantage is that I can point the 1 x 12" and the 2 x 12" speakers in different directions thereby filling the room or space more effectively.

As a speaker cab used to extend my combo I have and will continue to use it without a backup as it is a passive device and solidly built, there is not much that can go wrong. If it did fail I could simply use my combo speaker, after resetting the output impedance switch on my amp.

I have been playing for 15 years and play a PRS McCarty soapbar through my TE Bonneville combo. I also have an Aria Pro Les Paul Copy for backup.
If stolen I would attempt to buy another as it matches my amp very well in terms of looks, impedance matching, performance and sound.

Awesome punch from these Celestions! I wonder why no one else uses these as original equipment (at least no one I've seen)? Perhaps they're just too heavy. This cabinet weighs over 55lbs! Anyway, I dare you to find a better sounding 2X12 cabinet.

Believe it or not, Gibson Strings Division (they run Trace Elliot) cares about their products. One email and one phone call - both times my questions were answered by REAL people. Two thumbs up!

Great cabinet for any style of music! Not too big - like a 4X12, and not too small - like a 1X12 combo. Just right!
