Hmm.... Mine was built in 1996, but I got it ten years later, on eBay, for $312.00. I was thrilled! I sold Trace amps in the 90s and always wanted one, but never could afford it. This was so affordable as to be ridiculous. WAY under-priced for what it's got to offer. I play a variety of sounds- Santana to Rush to Pink Floyd to Celtic Rock. The Trace Elliot Super Tramp Twin Stereo Quad Chorus (just like the bloody Brits to give it such a stupid long name - they should've called it "BUTTER!")The three channels do just what I want them to do. I use some bobo footswitch to change the channels, and it works fine, but I eventually want to get one of the orignial Trace Elliot switches for it. Just seems "right," y'know? I love the effects loop, and the chorus is beyond stellar without being overpowering. Glorious, tangible, liquid chorus you could slurp thru a straw!!! I gig about three times a week on average, and the amp has been completely reliable with plenty of voice to fill a 700 seat auditorium and several outdoor venues I've played. Put it in a small room and it'll peel the paint if you let it, but it's wonderfully controllable even at low gain levels. I DO wish it had a line outjack so I could run a direct box to the soundboard- mixing isn't my forte, especially when I'm PLAYING forte. I'll knock off a point for no lineout, but this is a god of an amp.

Sound Quality : 10
I play Parker guitars exclusively now, primarily the Nitefly SA and the PM20 Pro, but also push my P-42 and Fly Mojo thru this amp. All four speak well and speak clearly thru this amp, and I believe it gives me the truest expression I could hope for of each guitar's tonal character. Yeah, they're all different, but this amp switches from one to the next with nary a hiccup. I do have to reduce the highs on the amp when I'm playing on the Piezo pickups, even in a blend, but I usually split the piezo work with a Trace Acoustic amp run crystal clean while playing on the magnetics thru this amp with the built-in distortion, Line 6 Liqua-Flange, Line 6 Echo Park, and Snarling Dogs wah. Wanna convince your audience that there's another guitarist hiding offstange? This is the setup!!! I LOVE the built-in distortion, and the clean is perfectly polished. More headroom than a Hummer, more top-end than a Viper, and more grunt than a locomotive.... I've played a damn lot of amps in 30+ years, but never anything -even at ten times the price- that sounded any better.

Reliability : 10
No complaints yet. Jesus doesn't gig without a backup; I wouldn't either. But I'm looking for another one just like it to use as a backup. Only problem I had was when I stepped on a cord and ended up with the tip of the cord broken off in the jack. Took 4 minutes to remove the head, extract the tip, replace the cord, and carry on. I was happy that it happened during soundcheck. Seven months into ownership without any technical problems from a ten-year-old amp..... Not TOO bad a record, eh?

Customer Support : No Opinion
No such thing, so I can't score this category. That said, I've used British Audio Service for other Trace Elliot-related issues, and they've been great. Again I need to point out that there were no problems with any of my other Trace Elliot amps either (GP12SMX Bass amp, TAC100 Acoustic amp). I called British audio for replacement speakers (just in case) and replacement carpet (bass amp had felt carpet rather than tolex cover, which was damaged in a bizarre accident involving a drummer and a cigarette of some kind). British Audio Service is the place to call for Trace Elliot parts & service. Be prepared to pay for the, but be assured they're worth every penny.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for something like 32 years... How old am I again, Margaret? I've owned damn near everything they make, and have settled on what works best for me, which naturally I believe everyone else needs to emulate. I play ONLY Parker guitars, and ONLY Trace Elliot amps. If this one were stolen, I'd find the bastard who stole it, skin him alive, and roll him in pretzel salt, tie his skin in knots, and beat him to death with it. Now that I've played it, I'm convinced that it is irreplaceable. This amp could only be better if it had a lineout jack and if it came to me packed in $100 bills.

It was my first amp and for $275 brand new it couldn't be beat. I got it at a pawn shop. New.
This thing is L-O-U-D!! Like, wow.
I never got the pedal for it so i always used a IBANEZ smash box.
I loved the chorus on that badboy.
I used this amp for playing shows, it got moved around alot.
It was a sweet machine to me.

Sound Quality : 10
I used an old washburn guitar. I can't quite remember the model. It shredded. THe Smash Box has a nocie canceler so that once you stop playing there is no noise at all. I then used a les paul jr. copy and loved it just as much. It can drown a baby seal in chorus.
I noticed no distortion when it was cranked to "12".
I enjoyed the distortion until I got the smash box.

Reliability : 7
IT was very reliable for 2 years. Then someone threw something in the back and ripped one of the speakers. Then the same day, this guy had moved it and all of the knobs got out of wack and he turned it on and it was plugged in to the amo and he then plugged in the guitar. "P-O-P!" Tube fried.
Can't seem to locate one, either.
I have cut off the bottom foot of the amp and removed the remaining speaker and reattached the bottom and it is a flawless Trace Elliot Super Tramp Quad Chorus head. I'm gonna purchase a cab for it soon. it's gonna be so loud.

Customer Support : 1
Emailed them a dozen times.
Nothing back.

Overall Rating : 7
The tube had been fried since '02. Once i find one it will be used again. I like the tone and power this thing puts out. ALwaysloud enough. I'd been rocking the amp since aug 00.
wish it had a built in tuner.

I think it's made in 96 or 97, looks like new, so what? ;)
The best amp I've ever had, looks fucking sweet and sounds incredible.
130 watts, two 12'Celestions Silver Series V12-60's. Chorus, Reverb, tube preamp, no Headphone.

Sound Quality : 10
I use it with my Framus Panthera and Profile Silhouette (Strat), both sound warm and really nice.
Love the distortion on channel 2, clean is great, a little chorus/reverb.......really good. Channel 3 is a little fuzzy, watch the treble!
Good stuff for Blues, rock, even heavier stuff. If you crank it, the Amp gets pretty loud, but sounds good at low volumes too.

Reliability : 9
No problems here.........

Customer Support : No Opinion
no support, the company is gone

Overall Rating : 10
For 470$ the "real deal". The Quad Chorus is hard to find, i think in the future the price will rise, so watch out, if you can find one, catch it!
Love the look and sounds, i have a Flextone III, Marshall MG, Woodson (70's area), this baby beats them all in a heartbeat.

Pretty good features, Chorus is awesome. Lacks a headphone out, and doesn't have dual inputs, but other than that is a pretty good all around amp. The double overdrive comes in handy quite often.

Sound Quality : 10
Sound incredible, I play a Les Paul, and ES335, and I love the way this thing sounds. It's got the response of a MOSFET amp, but the warmth of tubes. Distortion is sweet and fat, and get's pretty mean when you crank up the gain. Chorus sounds incredible, you can adjust the rate and depth to fine tune. I love this amp.

Reliability : 10
Never Had any problems, I've had the amp for a few year, but I do treat it well.

Customer Support : 8
Never had to use it.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing a few years, and I own a couple other amps(fender vibro-champ, Crate CFX212) but this one is definately the winner when it comes to bang for the buck.

The amp made in 1996, offers some versatile tones to satisfy Rock, blues, country or Jazz. Of the three channel switching, I enjoy channel 2 the best. The two Celetion 12" speakers couple a natual and warm British punch. The amp is designed with a tube prepamp (12AX7A)and a solid state FET output. This is a good combination for tone and reliable output power. AND because the output is FET there are NO heavy outout transformer, therefore keeping the weight down, for us old guys. The channel 1 is nicely clean but CH3 settings (gain/boost)are a little fuzzy for me, and you always have to watch the treble. A mild treble adjustment really affects the tone. Any volume level of this amp offers a consistent sweet tone without changing madly or "getting muddy" .

Sound Quality : 9
I use a 2000 Fender strat with S.Duncan fits. Old Ibanez strat. Heartfield Talon and others as a mix of humbucker and sweet single coils. These breeds sound nice. I also use a Gibson ES335 for a couple days to sit in with a Jazz act. Sounded great. The hissing from CH3 when waiting for a note warrents a better "Hush" type circuitry.

Reliability : 6
It has been realiable through the the warrenty period but started having a few problems related to a multipin connector coming loose inside. Easy fix. However, I did have problems on a gig, therefore I do not trust it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used it. Warrenty ran out, and I am an old technician so I usually fix my own for relaxation. It did fail two years after the warrenty.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Great little amp for studio or the odd fun gig. I don't feel that it has been reliable enough for me to consider it a regular gigging amp. Howver this may be my experience, and I don't know anyone else who has one. Important cxonsiderations though from a technican perspective, this amp appeared to be well designed, logically laid out and workmanship was excellent. Check with others on reliability.
regards,

its got allot of stuff , tube in the overdriven channel , i really dig the green switch in the back , i dunno why.... , there are 4 channels on it but you can only use 3 with the 3 button footswitch , , the channels are clean , distortion , distortion boost , and chorus , chorus aint to bad , distortion is a little trebely , and oddly the clean channel is louder than everything else , its usually the opposite., the amp is a little quite , if you put all volume controls half way you get it loud , and from there you can friggen blow the place . its VERY big . not to oheavy tho
, overall , very good on its part.

Sound Quality : 9
all up there

Reliability : 10
hasnt gotten a boo boo yet.

not haven to deal with it yet , so i guess it cool

Stereo 2X12 inch speakers, reverb, and chorus, both programmable. Clean channel, 2 X overdrives (valve driven), all with 3 band EQ AND a volume increase channel, power amp is tranny but you wouldn't know it. 6 sounds in all and all of them very useable. Send and stereo return. Everything you want for just about every sound, without needing an effects box. Could do with a headphone out, and line out, but what the hell, everything else is their.

Sound Quality : 9
Jap strat, Yamaha Superflighter, elec acoustic, and a home made special-all get used through this amp, all sound good. I have found a virtually limitless range of sounds for what I do, rock, blues and accoustic. This amp really is versatile, and very loud when needed. I got pissed off with having to use various FX boxes on my other amps just to get a good overdriven sound; now I dont need to- it's alll their and all easily useable. A truly nice gigging amp. No background noise even when cranked pretty hard.

Reliability : 8
No hassles yet. I had a Trace Elliot Velocette twin which I traded on this and had a few initial problems with that- all fixed under warranty. So far the Supertramp is as good as gold, and I guess I'll get looked after by them should I need it.

Customer Support : 8
See above.

Overall Rating : 9
I'm a gigging musician, once or twice a week, rock, blues- some heavy some light. This thing does it all. I've owned Fenders, Marshalls, and another Trace Elliot. This one definitely is the most virsatile for the stuff I do.... I'm very pleased. Yes I'd hunt up another one if this one went AWOL. Oh yes.......Quite a mystery that there isn't more info on the net about this amp, or a decent review. Why????

made in 1995 this amp is pure class
The tube gives a great clean sound with plenty of punch through the twin speakers
I would say it is a very versatile amp, with a slight edge on blues sound [allthough it copes with metal very well indeed with the gains up high]
allthough it would be nice to see some more effects alongside the reverb + chorus

Sound Quality : 10
I use it with an ibanez rg470
and I have played my cali p bass through it for gigs
overall it makes any guitar sound a million dollars

The amp is made in England. It can play any style of music. I play Megadeath and B.B.King. It has 3 footswitchable channels, effects loops. It has all of the features, and is 130 watts. (Powerful as anything.) It has 1 tube in the preamp, solid everyting else.

Sound Quality : 9
I use it with a G&L Legacy Special. It sounds good with everything. It has no hum, and can probably play a stadium, but I use it in my basement. The distortion (Channels 2 & 3) is great. Vintage to Korn.

Reliability : 6
I would use this in a gig without backup as long as the gig wasn't too loud. After 2 months, I blew both speakers and the "op" amp for the poweramp. But, I think that there was a problem with the wiring or something.

Customer Support : 3
I sent my amp in to get fixed, and it took about 6 weeks. I had to pay for shipping, and the speakers weren't under warranty. But, everything else was supposed to be under warranty. They didn't fix the "op" amp, which was under warranty, and it would cost more to send it back to get it replaced in my local shop. The speakers (2 12 inch) cost 180 dollars.

Overall Rating : 7
Pretty useful, don't turn up that loud or it will blow.
