i have owned 2 trace elliot amps, 1 standard combo and the super tramp twin, plus many other named brands and i must say that there's no amp with a better clean tone that i have played through, not the best metal sounding amp but no big bickie if your using peddles for the job. cause of the good clean tones and the tubes, i have found it a blessing when it comes to using stomp boxes and effects processes and find it easy to make the tones work for all styles of music. i play in a hard rock/metal band + i do a lot of solo gigs requiring a lot of different tones and i will not have any other amp on stage with me.

always best to mic the amp on stage since using a DI box takes to much of the sound quality away from the amp

i've never had one break down on me yet.
they are made of good solid wood that i think helps with the tones it puts out

2000-ish, Clean Channel, Dirty Channel, EQ, Reverb, and Presence... pretty straightforward standard stuff. Enough knobs and choices to have good sound-shaping control, but not too many as to be confusing or complicated in the heat of battle. for 80w, this thing packs a SERIOUS punch.

Sound Quality : 10
It sounds good everywhere, on just about every setting. Even when im trying to dial in a crappy sound for gits and shiggles, its nowhere to be found. I generally use either an Italian Galanti Grand Prix or an Ibanez Jetking 1 through a bigmuff and delay.

What can i say? it sounds wonderful. I can cut through any mix with it. Ive been playing through it for about 6 months now and it always delivers the goods. All the charms of a Fender Twin without the tubes or pricetag.

I used this for our theatre show, and when i kicked on the fuzz i nearly came my panties, lordy it sounded so damn good.

every other amp ive owned (including a marshall JCM-900, oddly) is put to shame by this rig. not bad for a little 80-watt solid state 2x12.

Reliability : 10
This amp was bought from Mr. Art Vandeleigh (see below) about 7 months ago. He had it for X amount of years before that, and then whoever owned it before then... It has found it's final resting place with me, and I doubt it will ever quit crankin'.

I think this amp was made in 2000. I know it was before Gibson bought them out. It was made in England. It is 100 watts rms (200 peak - so it says on the back) so it has a enough power for any gig. It has two 12" Celestions. Two channels, reverb, a boost with separate gain, giving you "three" channels. Includes a very solid footswitch. I'm into playing alt-rock, like pixies and modest mouse but also like an amp to scream when needed. This definately screams! It has an amazing sounding distortion which is very much adjustable because you can blend both tube distortion with FET (transistor) distortion.

Sound Quality : 10
This is not like any other transistor amp I've heard. First, because it's not fully transistor - it does have one tube inside, a 12ax7. I believe this is only for the gain stage for distortion but not sure. The second reason why this amp is unique to other transistor amps is because it doesn't use any of those IC chips (no integrated circuits - it's all discrete) and uses only FET transistors which react much like a tube does with audio. The other great thing about this amp is in it's tone section. It's completely passive, meaning it doesn't color the sound of your guitar in an artificial way. The tones are natural and subtle, like tube amps with their passive tone circuitry. The overall sound of this amp is hard to compare to one other kind of amp. To me, it's more of a marshall sound than a fender. It's very quiet, no hiss, but doesn't give you that sterile clean sound a typical transistor amp can give. There's a thickness in it's tone and it's got a huge range of distortion that no fender could achieve, let alone some marshall. This has definately a rock sound to it. It's reverb is not fender twin sounding at all. again, much more like a marshall reverb - if you know the difference.
I have a usa fender strat plus and a custom guitar that has seymour duncan phat cat (p-90) and seymour duncan sh-6. Both great pickups by the way.

Reliability : 10
This amp is built like a tank. I've had no problems with it yet. The wood is like and inch and a half - solid! The tolex is not as sturdy as other textured tolex and so it's accumulated a few small tears here and there.

Customer Support : 10
I have not had to deal with them yet but I've heard only good things from several people.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 22 years and was looking for a transistor amp because of their road-worthy reliability but before this, never found one that had that tube "sound" and "feel". In their manual, they even talk about speaker dampening, something I have found is only ever discussed with tube amps. This company went to great lengths to design something that can be truely compared with the tone of tube amps. And I'm greatful for that. Tube amps are not only costly to maintain (repairs and/or if you want optimum sound quality) but tubes are very very harmful to the environment to create. That is one of the reasons they are now only made in foriegn countries - because it is too costly with all of the air regulations in the U.S. Something to think about...

I'm very excited about this amp because it was designed to sound/respond like a tube amp. It's circuit is a discrete design(meaning, it does not use any integrated circuits like op-amps) using FETs (Field Effect Transistors) which DO have tube-like characteristics. They also use passive tone circuits, like tube amps, so that the amp is not coloring the sound of the guitar. It is a hybrid, so it does have one 12ax7 tube inside. I've replaced mine with a groove tube for better tone, but the stock one didn't sound that bad either. It has two 12" celestion speakers, and two channels and a boost. So, it's almost as if it has three channels: clean, distortion and over-the-top distortion.

Sound Quality : 10
This amp sounds like a tube amp if not better because the sound is consistent. I use my amp a lot and I rely on maintaining the same sound night after night. This does. With my tube amps, especially if one of the tubes are starting to go, the sound can be inconsistent. It's 100 watts are plenty. The clean channel is not a fender-sparkling clean. It's more like a Marshall clean tone. Same as the distortion. This amp is very british sounding. I love the distortion sounds. Creamy, and very well defined, musical sounding distortion. And the boost on the distortion just sends it over the top, too much for my tastes but perhaps good for metal. The guitar I use is an american strat plus with gold lace sensors and I have another that has high output humbuckers. Both sound great but respond differently through the amp.

Reliability : 9
I've been gigging with it for four years and it's been solid. The tolex is a bit fragle though and I do have some tears. Not too bad.

Customer Support : 10
Haven't had to use it yet! But I've heard they're fine.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 28 years and own a fender twin, musicman, princeton and fender 75. I love this amp because it sounds great, just like a tube amp without all the tubes. I couldn't tell you how much money I've spent over the years replacing tubes!! This amp rocks with only one tube!!

2 channel, clean and dirty with od boost, effect loop, reverb, 1 12ax7 in the preamp section. Most of what you could want. The channel switching and boost is confusing to use, and the 2 button footswitch (stock?) was not labeled.
The amp I have had more standard g12-65 Celestions in place of the stock (greenbacks?),and non-stock wires to the speaker, so some previous owner swapped out the original speakers.

Sound Quality : 7
I owned this amp for a short time, I bought it at a pawn shop and just recently resold it. I tested it with a Mexi strat and a Hamer SSII. The cleans are pretty good, it's not a fender twin, but it has good useful clean tones. The slightly dirty tones are very good; picture 'wind crys mary' from Hendrix or SRV, to my ear it nails those tones (with bridge and middle pup on the strat). The open back cabinet doesn't have much low-end, the bass knob has no added effect over 5, I'm sure an extension cab would show lots of low end.
I would not consider this amp for hard rock, punk, or metal of any kind, as the higher gain tones are pretty thin and buzzy. But for blues rock with relatively low gain and a strat, it's a great amp.
The 7 rating is because this amp has limited versatility. It does do the low-gain strat thing really-really well.

Reliability : 10
This one obviously had a hard life before I got it, some of the corners were bent, and the cabinet had a crack along an upper edge, the cabinet could be shifted slightly from side to side, -so it took a big fall at some point. It worked great for me, quiet and no knob noise.

I've been playing for about 20 years, I'm kind of a gear-whore, I collect and buy/sell/trade a lot of stuff. I've got about 5 other amps right now: '74 Fender twin, Fender ConcertII, 5150, tech21 t-60, '72 Ampeg vt-40.
I was tempted to keep this amp, those low gain strat tones are addictive. If I didn't have so darn much stuff, I'd keep this one for what it does well.
Not much versatility, pretty good cleans, good features, great low-gain overdrive w/ a strat, crappy for high gain.

I play mostly rock and punk sort of music, and this amp is great for it as it is very VERY loud. I dont use this amp in my house, i keep it in the garage my band practices in, so its always there cause its too big to bring home every time we have practice. but its great.

i use a stagg strat type guitar, its got 3 single coil pickups, and i use a zoom 505II pedal. i love the clean sound on this amp, but i dont particuarly like the distortion thats why i use the zoom pedal.

The way I got this amp is story in itself. I saw it on http://www.eig.nl a online musicstore in Nijmegen Holland. They had a picture of a 2005-model Supertramp with one Celestion Vintage 30 in it. I bought it within seconds. Three days later a huge box was delivered at my doorstep and as soon as I opened it I saw they had made a mistake. Instead they sold me the 2005 Supertramp with one Celestion they sold me the Supertramp Twin model 2001. It was in good shape and there were only minor scratches on the green toolex and footswitch that came with it. I plugged in turned up the volume of my guitar and decided I didn't mind at all I bought a five year old model.
I mailed the store that they sold me the wrong amp and a nice manager called back a day later. It was their webmaster who had made the mistake. It was a 4 year old demo-model they had used in the store for about 1 year and they had made a very reasonable price after nobody had any interest in it. New price ? 700 and now ? 298. The webmaster had copied and pasted the photo from the Trace Elliot website.

For the music I play (Blues, Rock and Rythm & Blues) it offers a wide spectrum of sounds. I use it at home and with the houseband of my employer during rehearsals and gigs. The power it delivers is LOUUUUUUDDDDD and it cuts thrue very easy.

The features like channels? You can read that in early reviews

Sound Quality : 10
I bought the amp after I restored my Stratocaster. I have a Strat that has a strange serialnumber: I0003486. Limited number of these "I" series guitars were made in '89/'90. They were made for the export market and have Made in USA stamped on neck heel. I removed the stock pickups and replaced them with Fat 50's. After getting rid of the original finish (a sort of thick black polyester) and replacing it with automotive metalpaint and a thin clear finish it sounded awesome. The tone just had room to breath and de sustain improved dramaticly. I just can't understand why Fender gives the Standards the polyester finish. It's stupid!

With my axe plugged in the amp she provides me all kind of sounds that impresses everybody who hears them. I like to play Bluessongs like Sweet Home Chicago, I'm Tore Down and Need Your Love So Bad and both crunch as clear sounds are amazing!
When I turn up the clearchannel is gets that Bluesbreaker sound you from songs like All Your Love and Steppin Out.

The amp itself isn't noisy at all and if I didn't know I would have thought it was a ? 2500 tubeamp. No kidding at all.

Reliability : 10
So far so good. It's made like a Leopard-Tank and weighs 30 kg's so it's as solid as a amp should be.

Customer Support : 10
Well a strange story after a strange buy. After my mail about the wrong amp the manager of Eig called me back and made excuses for sending me a far superior amp too the amp I first ordered. OK, it had been used as a demo but it looked like new, it sounded awesome and it's far better than the single Supertramp. I'm happy with it and to make things up Eig send me a set new D'Addario strings. Thanks!

Overall Rating : 10
I play guitar for about 30 years but there were times I didn't touch it for years. Played in small local bands. I'm no Clapton, Hendrix or Steve Vai. The only thing I think I'm good at is that my tone is clear and I think I'm able to put my soul on the table. Slow bluessolo's. That's my thing.
This amp is all I ever needed. Small, great sound and it looks good too. The only missing thing? I would like to use a headphone on the amp. My neighbours would like it too.

Bought this thing from new about ten years ago. Mine is one of the earlier ones that doesn't have a tube preamp. Green Tolex and black trimmings with black knobs. Its definately a versatile amp, I play a US fender strat, a Mex tele, and an epiphone Nighthawk and LP through it and the variety of tones that its capable of is really quiet good. It doesnt have that ear-pitching tiny treble that you'll find in Fender Hot Rods etc, but thats not really what I'm after anyway. Clean tone is really warm. Distortion has two stages and can go from a light overdrive to a chunky, semi-metal distortion. The humbuckers in the LP and nighthawk help it churn out heavier distortion when needed, but when I'm with the band I usually use my tele with the lighter stage of distortion to give it plenty of balls but with a nice clarity. I've gigged this amp for the past 9 years and its easy load enough for bar gigs etc. I had a gig off the back of a truck outside once and it never got turned past 4 and had a great punchy sound with heaps of presence. Reverb is quite good too.

Sound Quality : 9
I play mainly blues based rock stuff (aerosmith style stuff). This amp is right on for this music and compliments all my guitars nicely. I also plug my ovation acoustic in and it sounds pretty damn good also. I dont find it to be noisy at all and when compared to my old Fender M80 and some other amps ive had it really kicks ass. I rate its sound quality over most Marshalls of a similar size. Only thing it doesnt really do sound-wise is (as above) the ear-pitching trebles that you'll get from all valve amps, but you dont get the kick ass dostortions and sustains with those amps; the trace does them well. Plenty of variety in sounds. You can get a more sinthetic metal distortion if you scoop the mid range but other than that this amp sounds like an amp should. Not a synthesized/digital sounding amp at all. It has all the warmth of an old amp and the Celestion Vintage 30s that it packs are a great match.

Reliability : 10
Had it for ten years and its been perfect, no problems or breakdowns ever. Its been gigged on and off over those ten years and it doesnt even rattle or anything. Very sturdy built cabinet and it feels nice and solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed any support! Cant really give them a rating..

Overall Rating : 9
If I was to buy another bigger amp, I'd go for another trace. They hit the sweetspot for me with the analogue warmth and sturdy construction. Distortions are exactly what I want live and very flexible. I have a digitech effects rack that has a mountain of effects that are all really good quality but I hardly use them coz I just like the raw sound of my amp more! Using different guitars gives a good variety of tones through it also. Paid 1200 AUD which was sticker price and wasnt cheap but its definately been worth every penny.

This is just a recap of my earlier reaview, but for those of you kiddies who have forgotten, clean, distortion, boost, 2x12 80watt solid state amp.

Sound Quality : 9
I'ts now been almost two years since I bought this amp, and I still love it. My '89 std Jap strat with EMG DG-20 setup is my main guitar, but sometimes I use an Ibanez RG 55 too, which, by the way I would happily trade for a tele, even a lower end one. As far as pedals, I almost always use a boss DD-2 for slight delay effects, and sometimes a 535q wah, an Ibanez sc-10 chorus and a johnson fifties tremolo, (good cheap boss substitute). The clean on this thing is great, it definitely isn't a fender tube sound, but much better than any peavey of the same ilk. It can get pretty clean, though it does naturally have some dirt to it. But all the same, maybe I've just gotten better as a player, but the clean sound on this thing is pretty warm, and very articulate. The dirty is very versatile. I can go from an older tubey over drive( think older marshall sound) to a pretty hot rodded dirty sound. It doesn't quite do the heavy low end recto sound, but it can be decent for that. Of course, a strat isn't an extremely botton heavy guitar, and I don't tune down(except for occasional drop-D). But the distortion actually sounds like an amp. Yes that's right an amp. Not a polished multi FX processor sound, but an amp. It can be a little rough, a little too bright or muddy, but it's kind of like looking at an attractive girl with some flaws as opposed to one who looke like Jessica simpson, the super model may be better looking at first, but the normal looking girl is more attractive to me in the end. If that didn't make sense, I'm sorry, I'm tired, and poor.

Reliability : 10
Ok, I back. Never had a problem, it mostly stays in my bedroom, so it's not like I tour, or even gig with it, but it's never given me any grief, unlike the women in my life. :-(

A great budget amp. I've been playing almost 5 years now, so I'm definitely not a beginner, although when I see other people play, I still feel like one sometimes. This thing is loud enopugh to compete with a drumset, though in a band when the other guy(s) are playing 1/2 stacks, it might not be loud enough. I just finished my second year studying music, so I mostly play classical, but I love to play everything from Dire straits, to metallica to AIC to some jazz to my own wacky wierd dissonant music. I don't have a band, but am looking to start one, gve me a shout if you're in the Anch AK area. Anywya, I am poor, like most college students, so the $400 I paid for this amp has been well spent.

2001/2002 Model - Trace Elliot Supertramp Twin. Clean and Gain Channels with Gain Boost. EQ on both channels. Celestion Silver Series Speakers (8 Ohms). Mono FX Loop. ECC83 Preamp Valve - Pretty standard in 2x12" Combo's in this price range.

A headphone jack would have been nice.

Sound Quality : 5
When i first bought this amp I was playing a Yamaha EG 112 (a pretty crappy strat style copy) and the amp really made this guitar sound nice. But when I bought my ESP EX-102 the high gain pickups (Duncan Design 102's) do not work very well with this amp. I find that the amp can't produce low sounds with trebly pickups.

The amp has a nice tone on clean but when you hit the gain and gain boost the amp is pretty noisy. I find that the tone of the amp can be pretty harsh although you can't expect too much warmth from a pre-amp valve.

Reliability : 5
When i first bought the amp - a month later some of the FET's blew so I had to have them replaced.

I've been playing for around 6 years and when I first bought the amp I liked it but as I heard other amps and played my guitars through Marshall's, Mesa's, ENGL's, etc. I have grown tired of the sound and now want something better. I still maintain that it is good for clean playing though so if your not into fat 70's rock like me..it should pretty decent

This is kind of funny, but seeing as how I'm relatively inexperienced for my 3 11/2 years of playig, it is forgiveable. I got a good deal on this amp used, but after I got it, I couldn't get it to sound good, I was using an Ibanez w/ humbuckers and it just sounded like an ass-sound distortion pedal, no real tone, too muddy or bright. But after some fooling around, and switching to a strat with EMG's, this thing rocks. Clean can get marshal to fender to vox w/ some tweaking, dirty is mostly older marshall type sound, a little muddy, even with the mids scooped, which I had to do to get it as clear as I wanted, but still good low end. Nice and bright and rich on the high end, plenty of sustain, a pretty damn good amp for the money.

I've only used it in my bedroom for about two months now, so I can say but is seems to be holding up well.

Good for you if you're tired of the FX processor scene like I was, good dirty and clean, nice and loud. A little unclear in the low end at times, but it gets the job done. Plus, they're cheap, I like.

The one I have was made before Trace put the 12AX7 tube pre-amps in them so it's all solid state. It has: effects loop, reverb, clean channel, and 2 different distortion modes in the dirty channel (classic Brit and Captain Supercrunch). The verb is nice but on 10 it is about like 3 on a Fender. The Celestion greenback speakers are very nice. I play classic sounding rock/blues through the Super Tramp.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a Heritage Alvin Lee model (a very good ES-335 copy). My guitar has 3 humbuckers (2 schallers and one Gibson). These all have a 60's or 70's sound to my ears. I think the amp can do anything from late 50's sounds through late 1980's sounds. The amp is not noisy at all. It has footswitchable distortion and reverb. There is also a switch on the front of the amp which basically gives the amp a 2nd distortion channel. The distortion channel sounds like an old Marshall tube amp with the switch in the first position and in the second position it sounds extra super crunchy like a more modern Marshall tube amp. The clean channel does not distort unless you set the gain high on it. This gives a different bluesy distortion which differs from what is available in the distorted channel. To my ears the amp distorts as heavily as a Marshall. With the distorion on 1 or 2 (out of 10) it sounds bluesy and old (I recently used this setting in a recording). When on 10 it is more of a Joe Satriani kind of sound. The distortion is not as brutal as a CRATE or a death metal distortion pedal. This amp sounds more classic rocky to me.

Reliability : 10
I've had the amp about a year and never had a problem with it. It's the older all solid state model so it doesn't even have a little 12AX7 tube to blow.

Customer Support : 5
Since this is an older model I did e-mail Trace with some questions about when it was made and the switch from no pre-amp tube to the kind of hybrids they make now but they never did write back. They do have a website so I guess they are about average when it comes to this.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar since 1987. I also have an acoustic guitar. I bought the Trace because in the store I was trying amps out in the Trace amps sounded the most like old tube amps. The price used was much less than for a new tube or solid state combo. If stolen I'd probably look at Trace amps again. It's a very simple amp but it works good for just plugging in and playing to get a raw Keith Richards kind of sound. Somehow it sounded more like a real tube amp to my ears than a Line 6. The Line 6 amps sounded to me like I was listening to a recording of a guitar instead of a live guitar. It doesn't have a headphone jack but I guess I don't like playing through headphones when I can play through Celestions. I think they're worth trying and comparing to say a Marshall (for the distortion) and Fender (for the very good and quiet clean channel). If purchased new these amps are not cheap but they do deserve a listen.

Those green back celestron speakers and the tube preamp go together hand in hand with a 2 channel footswitch to swap between the 3 channels for this amp. This sucka got an effects loop to it's pretty sweet. Just my friend got a marshall the same time i got this one and his got more features so i'm kinda bassing this amp on his.

Sound Quality : 10
The Clean channel is perfect to my liking and the distortion set on light is PERFECT but for the heavy heavy distortion i use my Boss Metal Zone to cover that. My friend bought a Marshall at the time i bought this amp and I think The Super Tramp sounds better with the clean channels and clean/overdrive channel.

Hadn't had this bad boy long enough but it survived the trip here so it can't be to bad.

UK made 2X12 80 watt hybrid (tube preamp) combo. Features 2 channels, one clean/low gain the other high gain with a boost switch. Both channels have seperate tone controls but feature a global/shared presence/reverb/master vol. Also includes an effects loop on the front face of the amp..VERY nice to see...I HATE having to mess with the back of an amp for the loop. The only thing it doesn't have is an extension speaker jack. I believe this one I have is on older model since the logo appears different than the one on the Trace Elliot site. Also mine is loaded with Celestion VINTAGE 30's!!! Not the Silver Series. I don't know if it came like that since I got it used or if someone swapped them but its VERY nice to have these speakers in such a low priced amp. Looks very nice as well..covered in dark green tolex with black and gray features. I believe the new models come in black tolex. I give it a 9 since it lacks the speaker jack and honestly Tramp is a bit of silly name...guess its stands for Transistor Amp? Overall though this amp is packed with features that even most high end tube amps lack. The speakes alone and independant channels are worth it! I got this amp used for $325, a STEAL in my opinion.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a 1972 Gibson SGs with a Gibson 500T in the bridge and 498R at the neck. This makes for a chunky but searing tone when used high gain and a crisp but full clean to low gain tone. I play mostly progressive rock, punk, and classic rock. Basically I like a souped up Angus Young sort of tone. This amp delivers quite well on the gain channel for that. I am REALLY impressed here. I have owned full tube amps, Marshalls and Boogies and for as good as they sounded they were a pain in the ass in more than one way. I have also owned a few hybrid amps like the Marshall Valvestate line which are total garbage in my opinion. This Trace Elliot sounds more like a hot rodded Marshall...say a JCM 800 than Marshalls on hybrid amps! I've also owned a Line 6 (nice but always a bit flat and sterile) I'm talking smooth fat responsive gain here. Everything from gritty overdrive to full tilt maxed out gain this thing rocks! I have NEVER heard a solid state or hybrid amp sound this damn good! The only thing that came close was the Roland Blues Cube (see my review) but that amp tended to get crappy at higher vols. The Tramp Twin here ACTS like a tube amp, it responds to your pick attack and volume changes and actaully gets thicker sounding as you turn it up. The thing I don't understand is why these amps aren't more popular and why more amp companies namely Marshall can't get this sort of sound out of a tranny or hybrid amp? The only thing that really gives away the tranny heart of this amp is the characteristic sharpness to the treble..common in solid states and hybrids. But its easy to solve,...use more midrange and don't over do it on the Presence knob. I read the other reviews here and just have one question...WHY would you want to ruin the great tone of this amp with Boss Metal Zone pedal...or any fuzzbox for that matter?! To me the gain channel on this amp sounds like Marshall pumped up with a nice overdrive pedal in the front end, which is what is most commonly done with older Marshalls. Why ruin it with such a tone robber like a Metal Zone? But to each his own. The "clean" channel really isn't a true clean to me. With the gain down and volume up you can get a fab clean but it isn't a sparkling Fender clean, its more of a fat clean. Increasing the gain yeilds a wonderful tubey sounding overdrive that responds just as lovely as the gain channel. Sure it does lack the true depth of a full tube amp BUT it makes up for it in its ability to get a really convincing tube sounding low gain, something the other tranny and hybrids CAN'T. The reverb is the only weak link here. Its nice but not nearly deep enough for my liking. That's the only drawback here.

Just bought it, used. But from what I have heard Trace Elliot is good and their amps are known for being high quality. Its got Celestion Greenback 30's in it for @#$!'s sake, can't be too bad!

Again..see above

This amp gives off a great tube vibe without the hassles of tubes or the usual crappiness of most tranny amps. In short its awsome. Again, I don't know why more companies can't achieve this?!?! This blows the Marshall Valvestate to hell and does the Marshall sound better at least to my ears.

2 12" Celestion Silver series speakers; Tube preamp; at least 100W rms clean; ability to attach loudspeaker cabinets (if you like it really loud); Three Channels (clean, gain, gain boost); seperate EQ for clean and gain channels; footswitch changes from clean to gain/gain boost or volume II/reverb; effects loop; one imput. Add these features together and you have a very nice combo amp. With this amp I use an Ibanez RX40, DOD FX65 stereo chorus, and BOSS MT-2 metal zone. I play metal, rock, blues, whatever...with this setup I can get a good sound for each.

Sound Quality : 9
Channel 1 (clean) is great. It will stay clear at high volume levels. It has its own EQ so you should be able to find whatever sound you want. Channel 2 (gain) is okay for some rock and lead play. The best thing about it is how quiet it is. Channel 3 (gain boost) is great for rock and not bad for metal. It will make some noise, though. Some of the noise may be due to my guitar, however. It's a low-end Ibanez that I will be replacing once I get some $$$. With the MT-2 turned on, however, I need not worry about it (it is as quiet as a mouse when you're not playing). The amp is plenty loud enough for small venues. I'm going to give the sound quality a high rating because the clean channel is so good. I would give the other channels about a 6.

Reliability : 5
It seems pretty reliable, although I haven't gigged with it. I've been playing for 3 years and do not yet consider myself "gig-worthy." It is definitely loud enough. Living in an apartment building, I rarely turn the volume even a quarter of the way up, for fear that my neighbors might object to the walls falling down. I am giving this amp a 5 for reliability because I've had it only 4 1/2 months and haven't really pushed its capabilities.

This is only the second amp I've owned. I've played a few comparable Marshalls (VS265, VS100RH w/ 2x12) and Line 6's (flextones). For the price, this amp is the best buy. If I had had more money I probably would've bought a Marshall. However, I am more than satisfied with this SuperTramp. I would probably buy it again if it was lost or stolen. Considering the power of this amp, the wonderful clean tone, coupled with the BOSS MT-2 (which takes care of whatever faults the amp's own distortions may have) and the DOD FX65, I think it is a great amp to have.

the only thing that it it lacks is a multi input but thats quite alright its is a great sounding metal amp. the sound is good and raw i love the tube amp sound

Sound Quality : 9
The guitar i use with it has two single coil humbuckers and i use the metal zone MT2 distortion, this trio makes for a killer sound
sounds good in clear tone also.
I play in a hardcore band and when we play in small buildings i dont even hook up to the P A sometimes.

Reliability : 10
it has not caused me any problems yet not even the tubes

Ive played for just over 6 years now and this is my favorite amp.
Although i havent owned alot ive played with alot.
I would say that over all im very happy with it and would recomend it to my friends. I would more than likely buy another if i took my eyes off it long enough to have it lost or stolen.

The amp is a pretty good raw amp. You can really crank the sound (especially after speaker upgrades) and it can boost out a load. I play rock and jazz, and it's perfect -- not too many annoying features and just enough of an EQ to taste. The boost on the distortion channel is also a great feature!

Sound Quality : 9
I bought the amp because it's one of the few that is quiet. Even with the distortion cranked, if you're not playing, neither is it. The distortion is not great, but has a bunch of options so you're bound to find something you can deal with. The boost really gets this thing going! Covers all ranges, low to high extremely well (I've played bass through it (not a good idea) and gotten away with it!).

Reliability : 9
Well, I think my model happened to be the one out of 5,000 who was faulty. The channel switching system (amongst other things) was out of control, and so it would rapidly click back and forth, even if I turned the master volume off. Kind of scary to have no control over an amp. I had to send it back, and they couldn't even figure it out. Came back fine, but started the problem again after a week. Sent it back again. They couldn't figure it out, so they sent me a brand new one with speaker upgrades, different footswitch, and nice vinyl cover. This one is PERFECT.

Customer Support : 8
At first it's impossible to find out where they are (British-based company, you know), but once you can get a hold of them, they're extremely friendly, and they respond to emails and phonecalls very rapidly. As I said, the replaced my rig, what more could you ask?

Overall Rating : 10
Now that it works, I couldn't ask for anything better.

As a relative beginner, this as my first amp was a good buy. Although it set me back #300 i am very pleased with it so far (i've had it a month) It covers every sound i need: The clean channel is amazing and won't break up easily. The gain channel, fitted with a valve preamp, produces nice tones- not as great as i had hoped it would be, but still good (i did have high expectations). It also has a gain boost which can almost emulate a fuzz pedal on full! It comes complete with a footswitch which changes channel and gain boost or, reverb and master boost. The amp has a master volume and a master boost which seems to add colour and tone. The reverb tank is made by belton (22mm) and is much nicer and more subtle than my brothers fender. It has an effects loop (mono) and two speaker outlets taken up by the two celestians. The only things i would change to improve this amp would be to give it a stereo effects loop making use of its two speakers, independant speaker output(s) and possibly a footswitch that covers all 6 sounds.(you have to have two-not very efficient). I use this amp in a band and easily drowns out my friends a 100w amp out and keeps tabs on the drums!

Sound Quality : 9
I use a fender mex. tele. Its pickups arn't amazing, but the amp gives them the boost they need. The amp will cover all parts in paranoid android which just about says it all. I'm into alternitive music: Beck Radiohead Manic Street Preachers Sonic Youth and it covers all those. The amp is fairly noisy on the gain channels, but its not horrendous and no more so than most other amps. It feeds back realy easily though at high volumes if your near it (2m)- but that can be a good thing too. With this amp you can go from blues to li-fi or just have nice clean sounds, even jangley in the bridge pickup which is nice. The clean channel holds out well at high volume although i havn't yet had it on full volume- i'm sure this amps louder than it says it is- on the back it says 200w peak?

Reliability : No Opinion
I think i can depend on it altough thats just wishful thinking! I havn't realy got a clue although its new so i can't imagine anything going wrong. It looks sturdy enough!

Customer Support : No Opinion
I used their e-mail address which works but is fairly slow although they are helpful. (p.s. their website is about 5 yrs out of date for their tramp range- don't go their for info.) Warrenty is for two yrs excluding valves and speakers except under their discretion.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing about a year and a halve and all i own is my guitar and amp. If it broke got lost/stolen etc. and i was in the same price range i would probably buy it again. I love the clean channel and i like everything else- theres not much to hate! If it went dodgy though i would hate all of it!- everything i buy seems to go wrong 'naturally' or with a helping hand from my brother. I compared it with two fenders, miles more pricey, a performer and hot rod deluxe. - It sounded better than both and was less noisy! I wish it had an aray of effects but, thats not going to happen is it?
