I bought this amp off ebay a couple months ago. It sold for $325 and then $75 for shipping. The features include EQ and volume for each channel and two setting of gain for its two channels (low, medium for the clean channel and High and infinity for the Distorted channel).Footswitch included for channel switching. Also has a neat blue distortion meter that's pretty fun. THIS AMP DOES NOT INCLUDE REVERB, which is drag. It also has some type of FX loop I never have used.

The sound variety is pretty wide due to the seperate channels and EQs. The clean channel is warm, responsive and perfect for jazz. The clean channel doesn't seem to ever break up unless you dial in dial in some distortion. The distortion I don't care for - But a tube screamer or other decent distortion pedal run through the clean channel sounds incredible. I play through an ibanez archtop and a strat.

Very dependable. Never broken down, played several gigs without a backup. Should probably replace the tubes regularly to insure that.

No existent as far as I know since trace elliot is out of business or owned by gibson now or something.

I've been playing for 12 years. This amp is great for jazz or anything else needed a really warm decent clean tube sound. I wouldn't recommend this amp for black metal or the like because the distortion channel is more like a fuzz then distortion- That said, the clean channel is great with a distortion pedal in front of it. I bought this amp because I heard that trace elliots were reliable and my old teacher played out of one.
ALSO this amp is EXTREMELY HEAVEY. I think it's around 80 LBS. Thus bringing this amp to gigs can quickly become a burden and I'm reluctent to bring it to smaller gigs despite its incredible sound. Also, due to the amplifier setup (the tube pre-amp is positioned above the speakers and the solid state power amp is below the speakers) putting on castor wheels doesn't seem do-able.

All tube preamp section. a total of 8 12AX7s(4 per channel) in the preamp and 1 EM84 tube to show saturation(really cool looking!). effect send and return, has level controls for dry and wet signal. 1 12" Celestion Vintage 30 speaker. it lacks a reverb circuit. solid state "reactor" power amp. Each channel has two gain levels(CH1 -low, medium/CH2 - high, infinity distorion). footswitchable channels and effects loop(you need two footswitches). master volume. Very loud, Very heavy.

I use a yamaha rgx521 loaded with dimarzios and an epi les paul with seymour duncans. this amp has a very good tone. the distortion is not very high gain like marshall's but it does the job well. the clean channel is pristine! stays clean up to about 3/4 on the level knob...you wont need that much volume coz its loud! i play a wide variety of musical styles so this amp did it for me. i can have Rolad JC-120 cleans and a mean distorion. the solid state power section is warm.

its dang heavy! i guess it will hold up to its end. i got it used so i had to replace the tubes with electro-harmonix 12AX7's and an EM84. other than that, it's built like a tank.

i have been playing for 8 years. i had fender amps as well as marshalls. each has a unique tone. this one has its own voice among the crowd. you won't find too many of these amps around. if it were stolen or lost, i will get another if i can find one. i wish it had a reverb and a tube power section.

Amp was made in 1992.It is very versatile-I play jazz/ fusion/world/blues/.It has 2 footswitchable channels and each has 2 gain levels.Effects loop with level control.I like the features of this amp-It pretty much has everything I need but it's kinda heavy. It is 80 watts/12 in.spkr. and can cut a loud gig no problem. This is a hybrid amp-but not where they stick in 1 preamp tube and tell you it has a tube preamp-this has 4 12ax7's per channel-it's an all tube preamp.

I use a PRS custom 22 with this amp and get nice results. Both channels are flexible and I can get clean jazz similar to a JC 120 or tons of distortion.Solid state power amp sounds warm but stays firm and doesn't get mushy like tubes sometimes do.It doesn't have reverb so I run a Boss RV-70 and CH-1 in the loop

Extremely reliable .Have used it without a backup.Built like a tank with a metal grill to protect the Vintage 30.

Trace is owned by Gibson now but I called a rep at Trace USA and was able to get a schematic and manual and some info as well-not many of these were made.

I've been playing for almost 25 years. If it were stolen I'd probably be able to catch the guy cause it's heavy. But yes ,I'd buy another if I could find one.Obviously there are killer boutique amps out there (I've owned some of'em)but this is reliable and sounds very good and loud.I love the fact that you can hear all the notes when you play a chord.Sounds great w/chorus.Don't like the weight.Sometimes you can find older amps that are not current or trendy but are great....Usually they are cheaper.
