The features have been described well below. I think this is a very versatile 2-channel non-master volume amp. Mine is about 10 years old; never had a problem.

It sounds great with both single-coil and humbucker pickups.
There are two channels. The "clean" channel is sublime, morphing from blackface to tweed tones. The "lead" channel has about the same gain as the clean; but has a different tone/feel that is more like a Marshall. If you use an A/B box, you can have it all.
This is an extremely responsive and dynamic amp. More clear and bell-like than other tweed Kendrick amps I've played. I find both channels are usable and effective.
It's great that this amp allows for virtually all power tubes. I like EL34s, but also just put in some 6V6's, and was blown away, tho at lower volume! Sweet.
Basically: Killer tone.

I've had some hiss, but traced this to faulty 12AX7s. My experience with several Kendrick amps is that these are built like tanks. I've had no problems at all.

Not with this amp, but with my Kendrick Gig Rig I had some questions and I had stellar support from Gerald Weber. Trust him.

This is a one-of-a-kind amp. Probably not for everyone, so try to play one before you buy, if you can.
It's attracted some criticism, but I'm baffled by this. Most likely fallout from the ill-fated business relationship between Gerald and his partner in New Jersey. Don't be put off by weird gossip/rumours. This amp is amazing. I love it.

Just to let Martin the prvious poster know that he is the one who doesn't know what he is talking about. These are Gerald Weber amps and have nothing in common with real Trainwreck Ken Fisher amps like the Express, Liverpool and Rocket. I believe it had to do with licensing of the name.

I just wanted to tell whoever wrote the last review that Gerald Weber did not build Trainwreck amps, Ken Fischer is the owner/amp guru. Gerald does have his own line of very impressive amps called Kendrick.

This is a very one deminsional amp. With a few hours of tinkering I was able to get an amazing tone. It is supposed to be a two channel amp but I find that it sounds best using either the clean channel alone or using both channels together with an ABY box. The dirty channel alone sounds a but harsh and doesn't have reverb like the clean channel. The one extreemly cool feature is the quick bias system. This makes it possible for the average Joe to test just how "matched" a pair of tubes really are with a simple multimeter. It also makes it possible to get the bias within the proper range. In other words, you can put new power tubes in it yourself. As far as features go, the bottom line is if you like digital modeling amps keep on walking. This amp has for the most part one tone but oh how sweet that one tone is.

I am for the most part a strat guy which seems to be a good match with this amp. I put a set of kt66 tubes in it and I am very pleased with the tone. I will say that if you have weak chops stay away from this amp. There is nowhere to hide. On the other hand if you are one of those players that knows how to grip it and rip it, then this is the amp for you. Though the amp has a so called clean channel it breaks up fairly easily. This will obviously differ from tube to tube but I was able to drive the power tubes at at tollerable volume. I think the amp sounds quite a bit like an AC30 crossed with a brown face vibroverb. Its one of those amps that alone may sound a little trebley but in a full band setting it cuts through like a knife. I can't say this is the amp for everyone but if you want that early SRV tone and know how to strangle your guitar to get it then you will love this amp.

I bought the amp used from a guy that never played it out but I haven't thought twice about doing so with it. There is obviously a collectability issue with this amp but I don't buy amps unless I intend to play them. I haven't had the amp long enough to make a very informed comment about its reliability but it is made with the best materials.

I haven't had any problems with the amp yet. I also do not know of any dealers in the state nor do I know how long the warranty is. I did call Gerald Weber before buying the amp and he seemed like a very friendly guy. We talked at lenght about the amp and he was very helpful. There are not many amps out there where you can easily get in touch with the person that built it. However, the climax is one of them.

I have been playing the guitar for 15 years and have owned numerous amps. If I could, I would buy another one of these if the price were right. They are obviously next to impossible to come by so I unfortunatly doubt I will get the chance to. The one down fall to this amp is the high price but in the eternal quest for the perfect tone I have no regrets about spending the money. As I said before this amp isn't for everyone but if you are into quality tube tone this is it.

This is a two channel combo . Channel one has volume , bass , treble ,reverb and an adjustable slope for the tone stack called texas tea . It basically controls the midrange and becomes more scooped or more pronounced . I see it as a dial from blackface to tweed fender . Channel two is a lead channel with volume , treble , middle and bass . The power amp has master prescence and master hi cut like a vox . This amp can accept KT66,El34,6l6,6v6,6550,7581,6ca7 and 5881 style tubes with a bias change that takes place at the back control panel via test points and adjustable external bias pot . Mine came with two 10 inch Weber blackframes and a Canary wood cabinet . Tesla EL-34's Sovtek Wb12ax7 , phillips 12at7,s and groove tube 7025's in the front end . The at7's are pre reverb and in the driver/inverter .

I use a 58 Gibson Plaintop reissue with Tom Holmes custom wound humbuckers and a 60's slab rosewood strat with Fralins . I use an George L cable straight into this amp . I've never experienced this level of sensitivity in an amp . Its got the SRV riviera paradise / little wing / Lenny / dirty pool thing going on in the first channel with a great reverb and control . The amp was killer out of the box but I knew the speakers were lacking . They have been replaced with Weber VST P10S for a great balanced tone and breakup . Think Eric Johnson Blackface clean/pristine and as you crank the Texas tea it gets more tweed deluxe like and the mids come on strong . Glassy ,throaty, shimmering . And with the tea turned up snarly , punchy and singing still very smooth . Luscious Verb . The sensitivity is the key to this amp . For most people they will not realize this and just call it noisy or too finiky . The lead channel is unusual . Very vox like and harmonically rich . Has a range from clean vox , fender (think silverface) to Rich Marshall grind and compression . I can hear a balanced transition from pre amp to poweramp grind . The thing is the volume knob starts like a early 70's marshall . From 1 to 3 its clean and about 4 nice breakup sets in . VERY punchy and sensative . You really have to regroup to play .It exploits every nuance of your playing . If you don't have it going on yet or like the liquid boogie lead tone look elsewhere or....TURN IT UP . She gets very saturated and has alot of sustain .I would say Vox meets Marshall . Think Fawn ac30tb meets 70's small box .THIS IS A 4X12 CHANNEL . Pull away from the luscious Weber P10S(10 inch celestion alnico silver inspired ) and plug into my Celestion Greenback equipt 4x12 circa '69 and now we are talking . Big ol skull shakin pant leg flappin tone .(Drool cup not included).Think JMP/JMI . The amp really responds to tubes and guitars beyond what I have experienced before . The neck on the strat and paul are intoxicating and the bridge pickups are very dimensional.I can go from Beano to Duane to Angus to The Edge to VHII with my les paul . I can go from Machine gun to Little wing with the strat .

So far I've just retubed with Tesla E34Ls , and have had nothing but great tone . Very sensitive to everything so sometimes I have to stop and figure whats going on . I had the filter capacitor tray vibrating . SO I used small strips of foam to keep if from resonating and the power cord is almost 20' long so it has a tendancy to react with the reverb if too close but thats it .

Kendrick built this amp and has been there to answer any questions from day 1 . Jim Finney has been helpful with tube selections and hooked me up with kt66 inspired thoughts for this tone gem . I get more headroom and a great multidimensional tone like a big jazz swing thing that is remarkable (ala Brian Setzer)

I've been playing this amp for three years and am still impressed with the versatility . I like 6v6's in channel 1 for a killer blackface tone . I love the EL34's in channel 2 mostly Seimens here WITH the 4x12 . Just HUGE . As you can see its a studio amp for sure because you have so many tonal options . I could easily gig with it in any form but , shit the cabinet is so gorgeous and I would be afraid to hurt it . Its a personal indulgence for the studio hound that loves to fiddle and thrives to find the ultimate tone . I've found mine and find it was worth every penny .
