Solid state, 100Watts, Effects loop, Good distortion, seperate channel levels, headphone jack, and eq bypass. This is a basic good entery level amp.

It offers a good distortion, not a death metal type, but it is OK. The clean sounds are very clean. I plug my Boss VF-1 into the effects return. The VF-1 sound best with an amp that does not alter the sound too much, and this one fits the bill very well.

It has only failed on me once. It was my own fault. My VF-1 has -10db, and +3db output. I will run my VF-1 into an old GBX cabinet, and use the VF-1 as a pre amp. I pluged in to my Traynor with out turning the output to -10db. A few minits later I got a strange distortion. The pre-amp transistors were fried. I am an Electronics engineer so I replaced them with some higher quality parts, now there are no problems.

Bought it used, and have never dealt with Traynor. But they are very easy to work on.

I just bought a Line 6 AX2-212 so I do not have any more need for a basic amp. It lasted me a few years, and it seems solid. How does it compare to a Line 6?? There is no comparison but look at the price difference. $225 to $1200.
