Wish it had tremelo instead of chorus...the spring reverb is nice.....sounds almost as good as the reverb in my Fender amps....maybe as good....I might be biased!

I think this amp sounds good for the money...paid 129.00 US sight unseen to have it delivered to my door..had never even plugged into one......I play a USA made Fender Blues Deluxe and a Fender Princeton Reverb II amp. I wanted a small solid state practice amp for the house and to tote around if I needed to and not risk damage to my tube amps. This is no tube amp but it sounds pretty good! I enjoy playing it...I play strickly blues so the overdrive is enough for me..I use it sparingly. I play a 90's model Strat Plus Deluxe with the silver and blue Lace sensors and the guitar sounds good through the little Traynor...it is PLENTY loud...I think if I were still playing gigs it would be enough for small clubs with no problem. Over all I like it very much. (wish it had tremelo instead of chorus)

i was looking for an amp
that had a "compressed and
woody" sound. the dual
8 inch speaker setup on
this amplifier delivers that.
good clean tone; can get some good grit
from the distortion.
my rickenbacker 330/6, 360/12
and danelectro 56-u2 really
sing through this amp.
(mainly play indie-pop, brit-pop stuff;
a little retro-surf.)

if i end up needing more volume, i'd
consider buying an additional TRM-40
to add to the one i already have.

My amp was made in 2002 and it features 2x8 inch speakers, presence and 3 band eq, spring reverb, chorus, and 2 channels. It has stereo speaker outs(4 ohm) and stereo line outs (great for recording). it has 2 inputs, one for high impedence pickups and one for low impedence pickups. It is rated at 40 watts.

i use this amp with my limited edition epiphone LP custom with stock pickups adjusted for hotter sound. I use my marshall stack for hard rock but i use this as my portable combo/ blues amp. The secret to finding a good tone, clean or overdrive, is the presence. The overdrive sound very crap at first but with a few minor adjustments it can do vintage crackle to modern high gain. The cleans cut a little too much and start to sound harsh when loud. The chorus is the best circut Ive tried and even better than a Boss CE-5. This amp needs a boost pedal like the Boss SD-1 so you can push both channels to grit. It's loud enough for a small gig I think but I prefer my half stack. when u click the chorus the volume boosts a little, not good, and when u click the reverb it looses volume.. another downfall!

The speakers are cheap made, Im going to replace them with emenence 8 inch speakers. The speaker outs are shitty as hell unless you have 4ohm cabs.

I like this amp because it's cheap and I can't afford a fender twin reverb. After I get a gibson ES-355 or Lucille then I will buy another one of these babies and play true stereo. It's a blues amp and I like it. The blond tolex is gorgeous. I nice look for a vintage copy.

Made some time in 1999, its features include chorus, reverb, 2 channels, 2 input jacks, 2 headphone jacks, 2 lines out, footswitchable reverb and channels. It has stereo 6 inch speakers rated at 20 watts each. Says 'Reverb Mate 40' on the front. I play a blues, classic rock, reggae, ska, alternative, and funk, and this amp sounds good for all of them. It's quiet enough for practice at home, and loud enough for practice (maybe even for small gigs) with a drummer. The only feature that i don't really like is the gain . . . but i'll get to that in a sec.

I use this amp with an epiphone Dot (like an ES-335 semi-hollow body), and it is perfect for what I play. The reverb mate gives an excellent clean sound, and with some minor changes to the 4-band EQ (hi mid lo and presence) I can cover just about any tone that I need. BTW the presence control is a lifesaver, and I dont think that i'll ever buy another amp without it.
I didn't buy this amp looking for great distortion. I have a boss BD-2 pedal that I modified for that already, but if you are looking for some nice sounding crunch or some creamy fuzz, stay the hell away! The sound produced when you overdrive can only be described as UGLY!! I dont even know why they have two footswitchable channels when both channels produce the same distortion - bad. It kind of sounds like you're running a cat through the washing machine. . . I was looking for a good clean amp though and this is a decent clean amp with a little headroom. The gain and the volume are linked somehow, so you have to crank up the gain to the same level (or lower) than the volume to get a clean sound. Doesn't really break up on the clean channel untill you hit 9 for both. (Amp is VERY loud at this point)
Now that I've talked about the crappy distortion, I can tell you all about the very lush chorus effect (it kinda turns into tremolo if you crank the settings). This just sounds amazing since it's coupled with the stereo speakers. I find that it's best if you keep the settings for rate and depth very low (about 2 or 3) and play with just a hint of chorus most of the time. It just seems to make everything that you play sparkle. The reverb is also sufficient, a nice spring sound, but it isn't the same as the reverb on my old fender amp that i'm replacing. I can't get the same dripping cavernous sound that I want for the occasional Dick Dale cover.
Overall I am very impressed with this amp. I first saw it at a pawn shop and tried it out on a whim. I mean, it was the price of a 10-15W practice amp . . . how good could it be? I bought it the next day. For the price, I can't think of any better amp out there.

It is a solid state amp, so the problems that tubes bring don't really apply. Seems pretty sturdy, but i won't be kicking it down stairs any time soon . . . I anticipate no problems gigging with my Reverb Mate.

If lost or stolen, I would buy this amp again if i could find it for a reasonable price. I know that it's not a fender or marshall, and it's not even a tube amp, but for what it is it does its job very very well. The chorus is lush, the reverb is suitable for most times you need it, and the controls are responsive.
If you are looking for a cheap clean amp, sort of a blank slate to colour with your own effects, definately give these amps a try. Just make sure you have a distortion pedal before you buy it!

I play through it with an Ibanez SA model. It sounds great, good for tamer bluesier distortions and clean sound. Nice and light. Reverb is not that dominant and chorus is average but general tone is real nice. The eq nobbies don't really do much.
