Like the others, I'm sure it was amde in the 70's...early 80's. It deffinitely is versatile enough for me, I use it for my acoustic/electric, vocals and for my "rock" band.
high and low inputs, master volume, treble, bass and a master hi/mid/low ( I'm assuming gain..I don't play with that switch much)
I wish it had an out put on it... I'd love for a reverb knob to be on it.

I love the sound of this amp. It's always nice and clean for me but when I hook up my distortion pedal...it gives me the feedback I need.
I pretty much find that It will work with any style I play...as lnog as I have the proper pedals because there are no effects on it.

the only problem I ever had was the chord in the back coming loose....but that was due to my nephew pulling it not so gently.

I hav eonly been playing for 3 years... and the only other amp I own is my fender frontman.
I don't think I could replace it if it were stolen, don't know where to start looking.

Purchased new, 1979
Clean sound is good, even for a solid state mid-price amp. 2 inputs, hi and low; Volume, Middle, Bass; power out switch High / Medium / Low instead of a Master Volume pot. I like my amps simple. although I have always thought it ought to have a headphone jack. It is a terrific practice/teaching/benchtop amp, and though I have done a couple of gigs with it, it's not really up to the challenge.

Clean, it is pretty good. Not quite warm enough for jazz, though. If overdriven, however, it is ok, but takes no prizes; there are worse amps around, but crunch is not one of its virtues. Surprisingly loud for 15 watts. When turned up it has more transistor hiss than I would like. I use both a Jazzmaster and a 335 and it works equally well for both, although of course noisier still with the Fender.

The two 8" speakers are remarkably robust. I have never had to have the amp serviced in 27 years of fairly regular use. Never let me down.

Traynor/Yorkville Sound have always been reliable and dependable. I remember that they tested tube amps heads from the 70's by dropping them from 15 feet onto a concrete floor (height of the stage + 2 speaker cabinets.) Replace the tubes, the sucker should fire up normally.

I have been playing for 37 years; I use no effects pedals, and reverb only occasionlly. I generally use a modified Blues Jr., the 1966 35 and the 1964 Jazzmaster. If it were to be stolen I would of course be upset; I am fond of it, but I am not particularly attached to it.

About as simple (and effective) as you can get. Normal and Low inputs. Volume, bass, treble knobs. Hi/Mid/Low Master switch. Twin speakers that are 6 inches across at most! Solid state. Dusty, musty and old. I got it used but in decent shape(apart from the dust and cigarette stink) as part of a trade.
Also light weight and small, which is what I wanted for band practice.
It is what it is and does what it's supposed to do. I would like it to have a knob rather than a switch for master, and the ability to plug it into a bigger speaker enclosure would be nice.

This little gem is a total surprise. I wanted to be able to get a clean sound at low and moderate volume and always like to have a semi-clean sound that breaks up with a hard strum. This delivers in spades. It also does really good overdrive and at high volume last night in band practice with my Reverend Drive Train II pedal and a delay in front I got great heavy blues, almost Marshallesque tone out of it. I couldn't believe i was pulling off old AC/DC with this little guy! There is a lot of bass on tap and due to the small speakers it cuts through a mix really well. Jazz to Rock no problem.
My typical set up with this is a humbucking guitar (my B.C. Rich Eagle is my current fave) into the low input. Volume at 4. Treble and Bass near the middle and master on MID. From here it's clean (and reasonable loud) with a light pick attack, gets dirty when I did in and with the OD peal gets as Rock 'n' Roll as I want.
In short this is far more versatile, and far louder than any dirt cheap old Solid State practice amp has a right to be. This would be an ideal practice and studio amp and mic'ed it would work very well live.

Based on the fact that its still kicking I'd say near perfect. I haven't had it long enough to say, however, I will be sending it to a tech for a thorough cleaning, a 3 prong cord, and a once-over for the vintage electronics.

I tend to base my overall ratings on price/sound/volume compared to what is available new, and then just overall how happy I am with it. Compared to how much you need to spend on a SS amp that can compete with this one (i.e. $300.00+ if not more - the closest I've come is a little Vox Pathfinder 15 which didn't have near the clean headroom or overall volume and i needed to run it through a 15" speaker to get the sound I want)you'd be a fool not to pick up this one if you had the chance for under $150.00 (canadian). I'm extremely pleased.
P.S. I don't know if Traynor used this model # on a 60 watt tube amp too, but I suspect the reviewer below who changed tubes on their TS-15 is talking about an entirely different amp than I am.

This amp im sure was made in the late 70's early 80's but has stayed sweet over the years (mabey gotten better). This amp is a nice 60 watt tube amp which suits my styles exactly. I love this amp, it is very bassy and also can have alot of brightness (alot). This amp has 3 channels (high, mid, low) and the low is nicely distorted. It is also very clean on the high channel, but the middle channel is what i like, a perfect mix of both. It is a basic amp, 4 controls (bass, treble, a master switch and volume). 2 imputs, low and high. It is all covered in grey plastic (tolex) and is open back. This got a 6 because of the simpleness, but it is still so sweet.

I am running my Gibson Les Paul USA through this amp and i can get every sound i want out of it. like i said above, i can get bassy sounds but also brightness. This amp gets some feedback near electrical apliences but not enough to notice. The distortion on this amp is dirty but you can hear all the notes but their just distorted (the way is supossed to be!!). The clean channel on this amp is as clear as glass, i love it and always use it. This amp can make a variety of sounds but mainly bassy and bright.

This amp is as tough as steel, can be droped and kicked and still provide the sound I want. Im planing on replacing the tubes with groove tubes not because the original tubes broke, but because their so old.

TS-15s were made from the late 70s to the mid 80s'. I hade a TS10 which is a similar but smaller model. They are notorius for cooking speakers but they are as reliable as hell. I have an early 70s Traynor YSR-1 reverb unit complete with a 2x12 JBL bottom. It is bulit like a brick shi*house and I have owned it for 25 years. I have yet to replace a single tube. It rocks. I have used it professionally and it is very reliable. These amps have a cult-like following in Canada for a very good reason they are tough. Imagine carting an amp to a gig when it is 40 below and starting it up right away. Yorkville Sound is nanufacturing new equipment and it is definitley worth a look if your in the market.

I bought it from my sister who was using it for her keyboard in 1989 and it was already pretty old, but I don't know when it was actually made. It has high, mid and low channels, 2 inputs (low and high), and bass, treble and volume controls. I keep it high on the bass and low on the treble. If not, it rattles. It's so simple I didn't know if it was a bass amp or not when I first got it; I just wanted any amp. Not too many features, but enough for me.

I use a no-name, could be a jazz, bass, I'm not sure, but it's pretty long. I just recently got back into playing and haven't had a lot to compare it to. It sounds pretty good through the amp, but much better through my bass teacher's amp. That's when I noticed the difference. Not as clean sounding, but a good practice amp.

It cuts out when I practice sometimes, but if I fiddle with the controls it comes back on. And there's a wire in the back that becomes unattached once in a while, but is easily reattached. I wouldn't use it on a gig without a backup because it may unexpectedly stop working. It's never been serviced, though, as long as I've had it, so it could be a simple problem to fix. I'm still pretty impressed at how it does work after all this time. The sound quality hasn't changed, and the problems I've had with it were there when I first got it; it hasn't acquired any new ones since.

I've been playing off and on (mostly off) for 12 years. Anyone that sees the amp seems to have a nostalgic, glossed over look in their eyes and I've had another bass player offer many times to take it off my hands, so I know it's worth something (not$$). I really like it for my needs. It's sort of portable (kind of heavy after a while) and great for practice. If it didn't rattle or cut out unexpectedly I might even use it for gigs.

This Amp is certainly old. Definetly 70's, early 80's maybe, as the other guy said. This amp is pretty bassy and very distorted. It has very simple controls (volume, bass and treble "that's it") Two inputs high and low. The only difference from mine and the other guys, is that mine has 2x8" speakers. Surprisingly it is still quite loud. It has an open back, creates a little dust inside. But unfortunatly it really doesn't suit my style. I like nice clean distortion. I have only been playing for a year but I have picked up quite a bit since then. So I've decided to sell it for a new fender. I'm not brand loyal, it's just that i love that sound. I give it six because it Is Quite Simple!

As I said I'am just a beginner so I am using a fender Squire. It's not too bad it has two single coils and a humbucker. I keep it on the humbucker just to give it that comewhat clean distortion. I really can't blaim the amp, it sounds pretty bet up. As I said before, loud but distoted in a "un-healthy" way. It sounds like a dying rat. It crackles on the top strings and has a weird ringing, which is kind of cool. I know what the other guy means when you get different sounds out of it. Although I haven't tried any peddles, so who knows. I give it a 7 just because their is simply better amps out there, but not bad for 15 years old.
