This is an addendum to a previous posting I made, so there is no change on the features.

Sound Quality : 10
Since I last posted my review of this amp I added a 2X12 cabinet which I purchased empty and installed two vintage Eminence 12 inchers. I can tell you one thing. Look the f^@k out. This amp pushes the 2 additional speakers with no diminish in power really. The amp is standard on low settings, but as the volume is turned up the cabinet really starts to kick. Open her up to about 6 and you have total presence! I have since as I originally posted placed this amp and cabinet on stage, hidden with my Marshall stack up front. The venue was a decent size pub (seating for 300. I had nothing but good reports. The guys in the band had no idea whatsoever and the bass player actually noticed a difference, believe it or not, for the better. Now please keep in mind I do utilize pedals and effects, but when it comes to Rock and Roll who doesn't. All I can say is This amp rocks and anyone who says it doesn't doesn't know how to adjust amp settings very well, cause this one is a no brainer very easy amp to use. Also, for recording, it is beautiful.

this amp has very basic features. no brainer to use it. Wasn't as versatile as some of these guys say on harmony central. I play blues and this amp doesn't have it, not even close

Sound Quality : 2
the sound was horrible!! not controlling at all. you can play at very low volume but as soon as you turn it up it loses everything and it sounds really bad.
No control at all with the treble. you turn just a crack and it hurts your ears to play it. the bass you have to turn it all the way to get some presence.

Reliability : No Opinion
no i just would n't use it at all

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had it long enough, got rid of it as fast as i got it.........really

Amp dates from around 1980, I bought it used around 1982 or 83.
Over the years I've had to play nearly every style of music with. I bought it as a practice/rehearsal amp, but it sounds so good I would use it for gigs in small venues and I used it for countless recordings. One channel, boost switch, basic tone and volume. The best built in reverb of any amp. I've done sessions where we patched its reverb into the mixer. Any one that does not think this amp is versatile has never bothered to spin the knobs. For 25 watts it is nice and loud, tight bass response and the highs can be blistering.

Sound Quality : 9
I own many guitars, all have been played through this, Fender's, Gibson's, Jackson, Kramer, Washburn, Ibanez. Single coils and humbuckers. They all sound great.
It is not a noisy amp, one reason I've loved it for recording. At full volume there is some noise, but all amps are that way. With the boost switch you get a bit more noise, but it is still minimal. The distortion is not bad for a solid state amp, better than average. But I have dozens of pedals and a pretty good rack. I can usually get it to sound the way I want it to. My favorite sound out of it is early Who, Can't Explain era songs. Good twang for the occaisonal (nightmare) country thang. Low input for a great smooth jazzy sound. If you've lived in the midwest and listened to the radio you've probably heard this amp at work.

Reliability : 10
Hundreds of practice sessions, lessons, countless gigs, hundreds of hours recording. Beaten on, knocked over, dropped, summer heat, rained on, snowed on, cat pee'd on, and drummers beer spilled on, and it never failed, never blown a fuse, never blown the speaker. I have other high end amps, but when I need something reliable, easy to use, fast to set up, and can just throw into a car.

Never had to a problem to deal with over.

I've been playing for 30+ years. When I started out Smoke On The Water was a hit on the radio, Jimi Hendrix was still alive and the Beatles still a band, Stairway to Heaven had not even be written yet.
I have tons of gear. Name it...
If it got lost or stolen I would go find another, but it seldom leaves the studio.
I love that it is small and still sounds so good. I wish could do the warm tube distortion, but that is why I have a Marshall.
A friend of mine owned a music store, I was on my way to an audition and my favorite amp (the Marshall cab that is) did not fit into my new car (a Porsche) and I popped into his store, asked what he had that was small and sounded good, he pointed me to this amp, plugged in for a minute, wrote him a check and was out the door in ten minutes. I made it on time to the audition but ended up turning the gig down, they thought they were big time but were not even small time. But the amp has been with me ever since.

I believe the amp is a 1979, I bought it used and the serial hints to late 70's. The amp is in mint condition. The amp has two inputs a normal and low, also has a boost switch which increases output. Has gain, bass, treble, mid, reverb, and volume knobs. Unit also has an output jack on the backside for cabinet etc..The amp is 25 watts but seems much more powerful I am really impressed. AMp is solid state but has a very tubey sound. I like it so far.

I have a Fender preCBS, a '65 Gibson Melody Maker, a Carlson PG70, and a custom made SG body style which I assembled personally. I play all stlyes of music, but really dig Texas blues and classic rock. The only thing the amp is missing is distortion, but hey that is what pedals are for. The amp is clean all the way up to full volume however the reverb is more noticeable at the higher volume levels. I have been playing with this amp non stop since I got it and I am very surprised out its versatility is the sound department. I also have a 79 marshall half stack which I gig with and this amp could give the marshall a run in the sound department. I want to hide this amp at a gig and have my marshall on stage and see if anyone in the band notices, then I will know of I am being biased. For what I paid, this amp was a steal.

Reliability : 5
Seems good so far, time will tell, I'll give it a 5 as it is at least worth the avg.

Never have, don't know if they are still around, but the amp is over 30 years old, I'm sure the warranty has expired.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing quite a while and have been through several amps. As I said my gig amp is Marshall-PERIOD, and always will be, however for modeling and practicing this little Traynor is incredible, it by far blows away any other 25-40 watt amp I have used before. My partner has a marshall valvestate practice amp and this amp smokes it plain and simple. Now that I have it if lost it I would hunt one down no matter the cost. Thank you for EBAY as that is where I got this one. The way I see it I paid 80.00 for a vintage 30+ year old amp that looks like it was just built. Color is dark bluish tolex.
PEACE

I needed an amp in a hurry and found a 1979 Traynor TS-25 for sale at a used instrument store locally. It is a very versatile amp, and has great tone for a solid state amp. It is rated at 25 watts but sounds much louder, and the 'gain' distortion sounds very close to a tube amp at lower setting, the reverb has to be turned up very high to get any sort of echo sound.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm playing a Epiphone Sheraton and a Epiphone Joe Pass Emporor II through it. I play mostly blues, jazz, old soul, rockabilly and some 60's rock through it, so it suits my playing style to a T. It does have a fairly wide tonal range when you start playing with the gain, volume, and the bass and treble settings.

Reliability : 9
I just got this amp, it is older and looks like it was well taken care of, so I 've just been using it on gigs with no backup. no problems so far.

traynor is making tube amps again, but I doubt they would have parts for this puppy lying around !!!

Overall Rating : 10
i've played guitar for 23 years , and I have to admit I bought this one on a friends recommendation. He has owned a similar amp for 20 years and loves his. I tend to agree with him, I feel very comfortable on this amp, I know what to expect from it. If it ever gets to the point that it is unrepairable or stolen I would definetly look for another one of these, or a Fender with a 12" in it because there are a lot of similarities tone wise. this amp is extremeley well built. I played a lot of amps like most of us have, and this one delivers straight to the heart. I feel like I've been missing out until now !!!
