2 channel , clean/overdrive with a lead boost. Seperate tone controls for each channel and global presence and reverd. Channel switching on the amp or with supplied 2 button foot switch, channel/boost. 2 6L6
power tubes and 3 12ax7a preamp tubes, solid state rectofied. Effects loop and ext. speaker jacks. 12" inch 80 watt Celestion speaker. Not bad for the bucks! Trim controls would be nice for the effects loop.

Played my Les Paul and Strat, both with Duncan P/U's and it sounds great with both. Very fat for a one twelve combo. Clean channel is
vintage Fender with great sustain and classic rock crunch and low end "thump" when you
turn it up. Overdrive channel crunchs nice with great sustain yet
good single note articulation. Volume controls work great and graduate
the volume smoothly with no sudden "jumps" in power.

I've been playing a long time and have had, and still have, lots of gear, but I gotta believe this is the best deal I ever got. I've had a Reverend Hellhound on order sinse last May and hope it lives up
to the Guitar Player reviews, but it does'nt have the features this
has and it'll have to sound awesome to beat out this little gem! This
little amp is great for Blues or classic rock and is maybe the best
value out there. There is no such thing as a 10 in combo amps, but if
this thing came from the factory with the better tubes I just installed, it would be a 9.99999.

this amp is awsome dont get me wrong. but it could use a litle bit more features. but for the money. holy shit what a deal! mabee just a litle bit more variety in the distourtion catagory.

its great for incubus. they are rock jazz alternative. and for incubus stuff. its perfect. the only thing is its not the very greatest for is metal. then again for the money its awasome. whith the money you save go out and buy a pedal or two. o by the way this amp sounds awsome whith a vox wah. it is such a good sound whith a les paul. whith a strat its good but the strat i used wasnt the greatest. i think it would sound really good whith a fat strat. i compared this amp to a fender hot rod delux for 829.99 canadian. and then i tried this amp out for 589.99. and the trainor blew it away. i think for all those people going out and buying a fender hot rod delux. just try a trainor first. chances are you will be suprised. for the price difference. WOW! not to diss fender. ya gota lose sometimes.

it kills the fender hot rod delux. there both 40 watts, there both all tube, and they both have many of the same features, but the fender is quite a bit more. i chose the trainor. i havent tested it whith jamming whith a drummer. but i think it has a wicked tone. and the distortion is so clean. and its a super quiet amp. and its soo cheap 589.99 new! it get really loud at 4 REALLY LOUD, powerfull amp. BUY THIS AMP IF YOU PLAY ALONE, JAM, I THINK IT WOULD DO THE TRICK FOR A GIG, IF YOU DONT GOT THE BUCKS. this is the best amp for its price!

This is a new addition to the Traynor line-up. This amp gets a great "classic rock" sound as well as a great blues tone. Versatile if you like those types of sounds - I love it(thanks Jean-WFM Dart., NS). Great for any style I will play regularly (blues, old rock, some newer rock). Basically a two-channel amp (clean/overdrive) with an additional lead boost (nice). It comes with a footswitch, effects loop, ext. speaker. Nice reverb unit as well - long-spring accutronics. I play mostly at home now but occasionally jam with friends, I wanted something that would deliver in many different settings - this is it. At a LOUD 40 watts this amp is more than enough for anything I'll ever do. It is great that there are not any "extra" features that sit unused on this amp as well - just your basic vol, bass, mid, treb, presence, reverb and the gain controls - keep it simple.

My guitars are a '68 Fender strat with Fender Texas Special in the neck and a Dimarzio HS-3 in the bridge position as well as a Samick flame-top, tele-style, double-humbucker. Both guitars sound fantastic through this amp - of course the humbuckers and more crunch to the crunch channel but still the amp doesn't get mushy sounding. This has to be the quietest amp I have tried in a long time. Most amps have an annoying hiss when the gain channel is used but not this one. The distortion is not Metallica/Korn type by any stretch but it can get pretty dirty when needed. I found the amp started to break up with the Samick (humbuckers) at around 5 on the clean channel - mostly just the bass that was a bit buzzy.

Since it is a new amp I can't comment too much on the reliability but the warranty and Canadian Manufacturer sold me. I have heard nothing but very good things about Yorkville/Traynor.

No comment on this field either but Yorkville's website is very user friendly and informative. You get the impression that help would not be too hard to find if needed.

Playing for about 16 years, had the JCM800 stack, Peavey all-tubes, some solid-state as well. This amp stacks up against anything I have tried recently or had in the past. The only other amp that came close was the Mesa/Boogie Nomad 45 (just because I liked the Rectified sound I could get) but for me the 'classic' Fender/Marshall tones will be utilised more often (I can always buy a pedal for Ultra-Crunch).

Two switchable channels (Marshall / Fender), Seperate EQ, gain (On the drive channel), and volume controls. Effects loop, presence, accutronics reverb. Single 12" Celestion. 40W all tube (6L6). What else do you need, a shitty sounding headphone out?

Guitars include Peavey Wolfgang, Jackson Phil Collen, Clapton Strat. The Marshall channel sounds like a good Marshall, the Fender channel sounds like a good Fender. I play hard rock, mostly older stuff, with the occasional foray into white boy blues. Korny shit - I don't know, not my area of expertise, but early Van Halen is not a stretch. Cleans up as you roll the guitar volume back, certainly not a noisy amp. I bought this for all those occasions when I really don't feel like dragging around a half stack, but I think I'll be using it a lot more than I originally thought. This may be the best little secret in the amp world. It is certainly the best value. Six hundred bucks Canadian brand new! That's damn near free in US dollars. My collection has some pretty heavey hitters including Soldano, 5150, and Marshall half stacks. The little Traynor isn't better than those, but it isn't out of place by a long shot. If you like classic hard rock tones, check this out. If you like Korny shit, check it out anyway. If you are an American, why don't you let us have hockey back - you're fuckin' it up! Oh well, I guess we deserve it for KD Lang and Celine Dionne (I don't care if I spelled it wrong). No rating, tone is subjective.

Haven't had it long enought to say. I've owned a lot of other gear from this company, all bullet proof. Gig without a backup? Yeah I guess. They're cheap enough to buy two anyway. I will probably buy another one to run stereo. My rating is based on the company.

I've been playing long enough that I should be way better than I am. I own way more gear than I need, and way less than I want. I would buy another if it were stolen. I love the fact that it is a good hard rock amp in a combo package. I hate the fact that it is so cheap everyone will have one. I'm one of those boring losers who hangs around music stores trying gear instead of having a life. I have tried all the mass produced stuff, and a lot of the boutique stuff. I bought this because of the tone / package size.

This is a fairly new amp. I rented it for one nighter in Springfield, VA. I'd probably need an additional speaker for the gigs I do. This is an all-tube 40 watt, 2 channel switching amp with a single 12" Celestion. It is very much like the Fender DeVille series in terms of sound characteristics and feautures

This is a brand new amp. It is a 40 watt all tube combo amp. It is equipped with a celestion 70 80 red label speaker (awesome). It has two footswitchable channels (clean, dist w/ boost) Footswitch was included, thats really cool. It has one reverb switch, two would be nice, but this gets the job done for sure. I play quite a few gigs and it has plenty of power for that. Just mic it. It has lots of power for practicing without the pa. Just turn it up to like 4 and you are all set. It has an effects loop and an 8 ohm external speaker out.

I play an extremely wide range of music. Actually I play a liottle bit of everything. I play a les paul custom equipped with a dimarzio PAF Classic in the bridge through the Custom Valve 40. I also play some sort of samick that I tune down sometimes, or I use the single coils on it for clean stuff. The distortion isn't like a rectified head or anything but its great for hard rock. The clean channel is sweet and the reverb sounds awesome. No complaints at all. For effects, I use a Boss Metal Zone (this amp makes this thing sound amazing), a Crybaby Wah, a Boss EQ, a Boss Chorus, a Boss Flanger, and an Ibanez Delay. They all sound killer. No noise or hum at all from the amp.

Everyone who is looking for a great sounding, reliable, well priced amp, check this one out. For all those people who are obsessed with having a half stack,Remember, this is a combo amp and this thing is awesome.

This is a brand new amp that I just got today. From what I have heard today after about 6 hours of playing, this amp rocks for the styles of music I play. It's not metal-worthy or anything, but for crust punk, street punk, oi, and two tone (old ska), it is gonna rock out.It has two channels and they are footswitchable *the footswitch was included*, and an effects loop. I don't think there is a headphone jack, though. This amp has all the features I could ask for. The styles of music I play don't call for mega-effects. Just distortion, and this amp has a sweet overdrive. It rules. I plan on using my amp for smaller gigs and practices...for larger gigs, I use a Hughes and Kettner half stack, but for the smaller clubs around town, it gets too loud, and this amp will work. It's a tube amp, by the way, and that rules. It has a sweet tone. I love it.

I have a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, it has mini-humbuckers, and that's what I'm using to play. It suits my style just fine. Old school punk is kinda simple. It is not noisy at all. If you're not strumming a string, you wouldn't even know the amp was on. It has a decent variety of sounds. The controls allow you to tweak it to your tastes. The clean channel also never distorts, something I have never experienced before. Very useful. And the distortion isn't of the metal variety, but I'm sure you could hook up a metal zone or something and it would work out just fine...but me, I like the overdrive.

I know the company that owns Traynor is reliable, I forget the name right now, but I know that they have a decent history. I haven't had any problems yet...although, the warranty is two years no matter what...you could break it and they say they'd give you another one. That is awesome.

I've been playing for six years. I own a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe and a Fender Deluxe Fat Strat, I have only played the Gibson through this amp though. I also own a Hughes and Kettner Vortex half stack that I love to death, but it's just too loud for smaller clubs. If the amp were stolen or lost, I'd probably look into buying another one, but you never know...I could change my mind in a second. I love everything about it. I didn't really compare it to anything, I just took the guy's advice and handed over my hard earned money.

amp has fabulous clear sound. all notes in chords stand out individually and clean. i use a yamaha sa2200 with this amp for
jazz playing. this amp is super quiet, no hum whatsoever. tube
filaments are dc and power supply is well designed for extreme
filtering. use amp for portability as my super reverb is a bit heavy
to move around. the tone of the traynor is equal to the super reverb
but has sharper clarity, high notes sing beautifully.

The new Traynor Custom valve 40, the store i shop at just got a shipment! 2 channel tube combo, each channel has it's own eq and volume, and it has a shared reverb and presence, footswitchable channel switching,a nd footswitchabe gain boost. SOrt of a fender blues deluxe vibe, but i like it better!

I tried it with a fe guitars, a godin solidac and a fe others, it sounded great fro cleana nd low gain, it also had a nice grind sort of sound... not much in the realm of thrash-ready metal gain, but for everything else it is amazing, ia m sure if i used a tube screamer with it it would get that metal thing going.

it's a traynor... what else do you want t hear? Yorkville sound is of course the parent company and their specialty is gear that can stand road use. and if this amp is 5% as roadworthy as the rest of their gear it'll outlast me! (i have a 60's guitarmate, still rockin!)
