Features : 8
amp was made in USA in 1970.two channels, each with a high and low input.2 Jensen special design 12" speakers, stacked one on top of each other, the bottom to the left to accomodate a Jensen high freq. horn tweeter (could also be used for keyboards).all solid state with texas instruments and RCA transistors, vibrato and spring reverb(in it's original tolex bag, mounted on the inside of the birch plywood cab. lushest reverb I've ever heard, great for surf, blues, and jazz. about 30-35 watts, but sounds like more through those vintage Jensens.

Sound Quality : 9
using amp with a '57 Gibson ES-225D (with P-90 pickup), Yamaha SBG-1200 (twin humbuckers), Westone EX-125 (single humbucker, with a mini-toggle phase switch).Only mod was to install a gronded 3 prong electrical cord. amp is suprisingly quiet after installing grounded cord. great variety of sounds available except any appreciable distortion. If that's where you're at you'll need a effects pedal to achieve this sound.

Reliability : 10
How dependable is this: 35 yrs. old all original, speakers sound as sweet as can be. 4 fuses on the back panel and all look original. never has broken down. tolex looks like it's 2 yrs. old. would gig without a backup in a heartbeat!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Unicord was the parent company for Univox, Westbury, and Stage amps located in Westbury, N.Y. company is long gone, but Univox keeps popping up in vintage gear sales. couldn't contact them if I wanted to. with the reliability of this amp, never would have had to!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since the beatles first hit the US shores, still have my first electric guitar, a Gibson ES-225D and my first amp, a Fender Super Tweed, both from 1952! also Traynor amp, Marshall JMP 900 combo, Sunn concert lead, and a National Model 75 ('67)all tube head,Peavey artist hybrid amp(solid state preamp, tube power section (4 6L6s,120 watts). If I could ever find another Unicord power plus, I'd buy it in a heatbeat. Not as powerful an amp, but she sure sounds sweet for what it is!
