I assume this is from the early 70's going by the little bit of info I've found on it. The stlye is very 70's with the ugly blue discoparty vinyl covering and speaker hole cut-outs. Looks almost like something Kustom would make.
Versatile? By todays standards-no. If you're into all of that Line-6 garbage, you'll probably stick some horrible digital effects unit in front of it and it'll sould as crappy as you can make it. It has tone knobs, and is loud that's versitile enough for me. 2 channels, independent volumes for each, tone knobs are shared. Vibrato and reverb only on channel A. Channel A has a nice push-pull gain boost feature which makes it sound shrill as fuck. patch the two channels and dial in some of the mud from channel B, and you have a pretty decent sound.
This amp is a 2-12 monster probably weighing around 80 pounds...it makes a nice end table around the house. Unlike most end tables, you can plug in and play it, which I think is nice.
I have played out with it a bit, I used to AB it for a clean sound while using a Marshall jcm 800 (vertical inputs) for dirt. to much gear to haul around...my roadie fucking hated me. I've used it a few times in the ol' punk rock band when the marshall was misbehavin'. It was plently loud, and sounded fine with a decent stomp box in front of it.

I play mainly an old, beat up fender jazzmaster through this sucker. I've played the Les Paul and the 70's guild s-100 through her as well. All of these guitars have pickups of the magnetic style. It suits my stlye of music since it sounds good and is loud. I play songs. Some of them are loud and fast, some are quiet and then loud. Think the Who being gang raped by Black Flag, The Saints, and every band that's ever been on Ebullition records. I suppose it's not too noisy an amp considering it's age...a little hiss & squeal sounds nice. It sounds somewhat like a fender twin, with less chime...that's most like ly due to the rather bland sounding no name speakers and ancient tubes. A quartet of GE 6L6's and 6 or 7 preamp tubes 12ax7's 12ausomething or other old Mullards...I've since replaed the driver tube with a GT12ax7. Sounds a little better. I'm sure this bitch will sound great with a pair of Jensen 12" speakers and a retube. It' come along way since I bought it at the church sale. I was covered in some sort of slime. I didn't work(blown fuse) and had all manner of insects living inside of it...
This has no "Distortion channel" but will break up very nicely at ear shattering volumes. I find myself wanting to play "Pictures of Lilly" by the Who when it's cranked up...It's just SOOOOOOOOOO LOUD! Will probably be even louder after a retube! Rated @ 105 watts on the chassis, I suspect that may be a bit conservative.
"How 'Brutal' the distortion?" What a lame question.
Ummm...brutal like the GOATLORDICORN, the half centaur, half unicorn, half goat-lord Satan himself who eats the souls of silly little nu-metal children with big pants and line-6 amps.
yeaH.

Built like a battleship, but without all of those intimidating guns. I've gigged it without a back up with no worries. It gets rather hot, but in the 5+ years I've owned it, it's never created any problems.
It crapped out once while I had both channels on 10 while running an extra 4x12 cab with an improper impedance selected...just blew the mains fuse though. I replaced the fuse and selected the proper ohmage (it has 2?, 4, or 8) and played the rest of the gig no problem.

I once fell on top of it and knocked it over. I kept playing, and so did it without complaint. I prefer to not play the punk rock shows with it since it is an old lady and it's not nice to knock over old ladies.

I think the company went out of business 20 years ago, but I'm sure some very nice people worked there.

I've been playing for bla blah blah years. And I own a bunch of other old crap, fenders and marshalls and stuff. If it were lost, I'd be pretty amazed that something as massive could just be "lost". If it were stolen, I'd try to find who stole it and cause them harm.(theives get theirs). For the price I paid for it, I'd buy ten more, but alas, this is the only one I've seen...
If I could find one, I'd pay up to $500 to replace it. Any more than that, you might as well buy a twin reverb.

This is a '71 combo with 2/12" set up. It has both reverb and tremelo
with footswitch jacks for each. There are two bright, and two normal inputs. Both the power tubes and preamp tubes are original, so, I get a serious buzz when I use the high boost feature. I hope to remedy that with some new tubes. The best part is the four inputs for more speakers, which I'm told would take it from it's 150 watts to 300 watts. It's the best $200 I've ever spent.

Sound Quality : 8
The sound is fairly high range. I'd been playin bass for the last 8 years, so it's a nice change. I'm currently playing both a gibson SG junior, and a Les Paul SG junior, and both sound pretty good. My style resembles Jeff Buckley, and the reverb is a perfect touch. As I said the tubes are worn out, which hurts my volume without an additional cabinet. The natural distortion you get with the volume cranked is a little too tame for my tastes, but with my Big Muff or my Tone Bender I don't have any complaints. Overall It has a good high end sound alone, but I need a little meat, so I add my Fender 2/15" cab to balance it out.

Reliability : 10
Since the tubes are all original, (they actually have the G/E logo on them!) the sound is lacking, but for '71 tubes I have to say it seems pretty durable. The rest of it is in near mint condition, and it's been played on constantly. I would count on it for shows, tours, studio, you name it.

I'm not an expert on guitar amps, but I've had the chance to play on Marshall, mesa boogie, Orange, Matchless, Line 6, and Peavy. I have always been partial to vintage sounding gear, and this is as vintage as you can get.(on my budget anyway.) I am having a hard time finding a footswitch that's compatible for the effects, but I'm still very pleased. I think this amp is so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up!
