i use a stratocaster and a telecaster with this amp. i play blues and i like it loud, this amp has a fender/marshall type sound to it. i leave all settings on ten and control the volume and tone with my guitars. reverb about 3 or 4, don'y use the tremelo much although it is very nice. i have been playing for 42 years and have had many amps, this one is it for me.

the first time i fired this thing up a power tube and a socket went out, no big deal, put in a new quartet and ceramic sockets, no problems since then. very high quality amp!

for me this is the amp,had lots of other amps around the house and sold them all including a nice 50w univox head. i have had dozens of amps over the last 30 years. the only thing that comes close are the tube silvertones for the sound i want. i never let this amp out of my sight, even had the metal logo gold plated!!! this one is two-tone blue tolex and is mint.

105 watt head, two channels (non switchable) Bass, Mid, Treble, Presence, Reverb, and tremolo on the front. Multiple impeadance switch, with 4 speaker jacks on the back. About as many features as you can expect from a '72 vintage amp. Plus it's two tone blue.

I use it with A Tele, and an Ibanez RoadstarII with a Dimarzio Superdistortion Humbucker. It tends to be kinda bright with the Tele, but it really growls with the humbucker. We're talking classic '70's stadium rock crunch. Great bass response. Actually It it sounds best at full boar. Vol 10, bass 10, mid 10, treb 5, pres 5. The clean sound isn't that great, kinda tight and flat. Not bad though. Reverb is kinda dark. Trem is great. As with any vintage tube amp, it needed a bit of adjustment to make it sing. Get those things serviced! Better yet, learn to do it yourself!

The first day I had it the amp smoked! Nothing major though, one of the power tubes went south, and took the socket with it. I just replaced all of the power tubes, and sockets and it's been smooth sailing. It has about the biggest transformers I've seen in a guitar amp, and running at 550+ volts it's understandable that if a tube goes out it's gonna cause some problems. It's heavy, and the wiring and soldering is very clean. Just get it serviced, and it should be fine

I,ve been playing since '85. I have owned a truckload of amps since then. I now own A Blackface Bassman, Silverface Champ, and the Univox. I would'nt be satisfied if it was my only amp, but it compliments my collection well. Actually running the Bassman and the Univox at the same time is something to be heard! If stolen, I would keep my eye out for another one. All in all it's a great (cheap)alternative to a Marshall, Hiwatt, or Laney of the same era. Big!!! Loud!!! Rock!!!
