Made in Japan in 1965. Two inputs which can be daisy chained together to increase the gain. Both inputs have bright and normal inputs with volume and tone controls. Trem and tube driven spring reverb on channel 1. Has a standby switch (awesome!), extension speaker jack, trem and reverb switch jacks. 1 big beefy 15" Jensen Special Design speaker. tube line up is: 1- 6CA4, 5- 12AX7A, 2-6973

When I first bought this amp I was a little disappointed because you really have to push the volume to get it to break up. The sweet spot is 9-10. When you hit that spot though...stand back! We are talking face melting, blues breaker distortion! At lower volumes the amp sounds good, very swampy and bluesy. To try to get that great distortion at lower volumes I put my old DOD preamp/OD in front of it which REALLY opened it up. Beautiful harmonic overdrive! Drop your low E to D and listen to it snarl! Neil Young would stand up and take notice. I'm not sure if this is a problem with my particular amp..or these amps in general..but the reverb is kinda weak. It is interesting and different as an effect...but not a strong surfy reverb that most reverb fans crave. The trem is sweet! Nice and strong with a wide range of speeds.
My main guitar is a Silvertone H78. I also play other Silvertone/Harmony guitars with hot DeArmond pups and Gibson P13 pups.
Noisy? not at all.
If you are looking for a killer blues/classic rock amp that will crank those great Cream/Mountain tones, you might want to give this one a whirl.

So far so good. Its never broken down. I would bring it to a gig without anymore worry of breakdown than I would with any other amp.

I've been playing for about 25 years. If my U305R were lost or stolen I would try to find another one. So far, this is the only one of these that I've seen for sale. It was purchase off of craigslist in Los Angeles. I've never seen one on eBay
I love the tone. When you crank it up to the sweet spot or give it a little boost with a pedal this amp has big beefy balls! I can't really say "hate" because I'm not a big reverb guy..but the reverb could be better...though perhaps this is just a problem with my particular amp.
