This is a basic four valve, two channel head that was made in Brisbane, Australia. I would guess vintage at mid to late 1960s by the appearance and because one of the internal components has a 1966 date stamped on it. Inputs for guitar, bass guitar and organ, outputs for various impedance speaker loads. Vinyl-covered ply case is fairly compact but unit is heavy with two big Fergusson transformers - definitely needs those two heavy duty chrome 'D' handles on top. Ventilation is a little lean, but it's an easy fix to pull the back panel off to get better air flow. It doesn't have much in the way of features, but who the hell cares? Less to go wrong, and you can buy an array of effects these days if that's what you want. I have an old Ibanez analogue rack with about four effects, and that's plenty for me. One thing I wouldn't mind seeing on the control panel is a master volume control. I had a Marshall JCM800 100w head years ago, and found it a useful feature. Ah well... you can't have it all. Anyway, the poor old thing has sat around here for long enough - I plan to rejuvenate it shortly.

Suffice it to say that guitars (any and all) sound bloody great through this old banger. Don't know about bass guitars or organs...

Very old, but a totally reliable unit until it blew a couple of capacitors in the power supply. The volume pot also fell apart, but that said, it never gave any trouble in 20 years plus of hard yakka.

Nil. I read in one of the other Vase reviews that the bloke who built these amps is no longer with us - God rest his soul. Anyhow, there're still plenty of people around who can repair these jobs.
