I am only the second owner of this amp and cab, My uncle purchased it brand new in the 60's. Vase were made in Brisbane Australia. I have since had all the valves replaced in it and it is as good as new. The head has 2 channels but 3 inputs. One is for Bass, One for Guitar and one for keyboard. The guitar and bass channels are one and the keyboard is on it's own. You can pull out the Bass and Treble knobs on the Bass Channel for a boost but the Keyboard channel only has a 1 overall tone control. This amp maybe only rated at 80 watts but when it is used with the Vase Bass Cabinet which has 2 15 inch speakers, It blows modern day 200 watt solid state amps into the weeds.

Sound Quality : 8
I use a Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass with this amp.

Reliability : 10
My uncle told me that whilst he owned this amp, It was knocked over by some drunk at a gig one night and he simply just picked the cab back up, Put the head back on top and started playing away again. The only damage was a hole in the top speaker which was caused by the mic that was being used to mic up the amp. The speaker complete with hole finished the gig without any fuss at all

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't think VASE exisits anymore

Overall Rating : 8
This thing just rocks, I've on one occasion had to plug my Lead Guitar setup into this amp for some extra volume. I use an American Telecaster and a 80 Watt Marshall Valvestate amp when I'm playing lead. It was as simple as running one guitar lead from the Line Out section on the Marshall into the Guitar input on the Vase, Wow did the Vase rock on that night

Year ?(late 60's early 70's)
All tube, two'88's in the power section, 4 12Ax7's input. One rectifier tube?
Speaker cab 4'x12"
Versatile ,simple to use, reliable, a true workhorse.
I use it for all my gigs 'cause it's all I've got.
I was using this amp as my Bass rig, but also for my guitar L6S. Sounds great on Bass, sounds bloody brilliant on guitar, very controllable.
I give it a 9 as it has two channels but no switching, so I use a pan pedal to switch bettween the two.

Sound Quality : 10
Wicked, but no gain stages, or master Vol, just a straight through all tube, 80W powerhouse.

I can get any sounds I want, with minimal effects, just by driving the input for a bit more overdrive....Yeh.

Reliability : 10
Dependable as they get.

Customer Support : No Opinion
