These are great amplifiers. The Vase Dynabass head is a 40-50 watter pushing out some of the best EL-34 tones you will ever hear. Great on bass, where its warmth and detail provide an experience a bassist will never forget!
But, like the fabled Fender? Bassman?, guitarists are the unlikely benefactors of the 'stripped-down' design, with just bass, treble, volume and power (off-standby-on) controls on the front. But, unlike the Bassman, the Vase comes with Bass and Guitar inputs, each displaying different frequency responses.
Vase amps were made in Brisbane (Queensland, Australia), and the build quality and solidity of this amp have to be seen to be believed. Huge transformers, civil-engineering style chassis strength, and not an ounce of chipboard to be seen in the wooden cabinetry.
Truly an amp for life; point-to-point hand wired, and grouse quality. And grouse tone. And grouse looks. And a grouse investment!

with any bass played through it, the results were surprisingly warm and punchy! The bass boost offered by the pull pot is very useful.

This thing will survive WW3. Awesome build quality, and vastly over-engineered. A truly usable classic.

Long folded. But it's a point-to-point vintage tube amp!
Who needs the manufacturer?

Totally simple. Two non-switchable channels for Bass and Guitar, bass and treble knobs. Bass knob pulls out for what seems to be a bass boost.
Most unfortunate feature - the speaker bin is really, really heavy. That's OK - but the handles on the side of the bin are absolute knuckle crunchers. Has always been funny watching unsuspecting helpers break themselves on these.
Totally Oz - down to the AWA valves

Haven't played a note in anger for too long now - gigged for a long time using playing a Tune Bass. Sound was solid and very natural - though probably lacked the punch of other amps. Whenever friends with strats etc plugged in they were blown away by the sound - probably a better guitar amp than bass amp -but great anyhow.

Never misse a beat in ~ 15 years. Replaced the old AWA valves with some Mesa Boogies - just cause I wanted to. The On-off light blew years ago - neverbothered to replace.

None - of course - but with such a simple beast 4 valves, two transformers and some wire, what can go wrong?

If I lost it - it would be, well, sad.

Year of manufacture ???? Guessing at late 70's
Very versitile for vocals/bass/guitar, very grunty all tube sound with natural type over drive. 100 watt valve head, original speaker box contains 3 speakers i think.(well sealed)

I am currently using a late 70's strat copy by the brand CIMAR and a mid 80's strat copy by the brand HONDO. These combinations are giving me beautiful clean sounds and a subtle but effective over drive when run through the bass jack. Very loud
