This is amp has the basic 2 tone plus presence controls. It has normal and bright channels with volume controls for both. Being designed after 50's a era amps that was the height of versatility back then

Sound Quality : 9
This is a 35 watt head and 2x12 closeback cabinet design. Not something that Victoria advertises. My main guitars area 73 tele deluxe, and a 52 RI Tele. I use a pedal board that cantains oringal TS 808, Barber electronics Burn unit, a Cry Baby, anolg delay, ocatve and a micro amp boosts. My style is a rock thing. This amp, like any tweed, sounds best run wide open. Like others have said the tones actually add gain past 6 or so. Tha cabinet is a white pine box with C12N reissues. This amp while many state is best for small clubs I have used it in venues that hold 3000+ with no stage volume issues. It's tone at giging volume (V-8+,T-8,B-8,P-5) is a very warm responsive fender meets marshall vibe. It is a far from a siverface as you can get. You can lay back and it purs like a cat and them beat on it and it will bark. That type of resoponsive behavior is not found in most amps on the market. The trebble will never cut glass, and the bass stays right there even if they are maxed. The cabinet has an amazing resonence to it that makes the overall sound very 3D. The amp buy itself can give you classic tones from the Stones to early zep in the right hands. I have gotten complements from players who's muscial styles range from funk to metal. It just sounds that good. With Vic choosing the right wattage is key. The tweed vibe is found when these amps are screaming. I went w/ 35 and closed back so I could crank it and have a little more punch that the combo. If you are looking for an amp to do a rock thing ala stones, zep, beatles, even a modern power-pop vibe this may be your thing. The obvious blues thing is a no brainer. I'd say if you've been looking at fenders, vox, non-master marshalls, check out the sound of a Vic.

Reliability : 10
300 plus live playing hours on it and no problems (knock on wood). Toured back and forth across the country more than once with it. I keep it in a very well made anvil case as well. My tech goes through it every time before I leave and he is very impress with the design. Simple built to last.

Here's my only complaint. It took 5 months to get it. Mark said it was the "special" cabinet that held things up. When I finally got it the cabinet was completely under designed and I buzz to the point I thought it would explode. Then things got kind of ugly. I got the run around for another month before a new one arrive built correctly. I won't go into the details, lets just say Mark could use some lessons in customer commitments, and satisfaction.

I've been plaing guitar for 15 plus years. Owned and or played everthing. Victoria is a very special amp. It's pointless to tell you who should or should not use these amps because if your style is more modern, high-gain, then Vics aren't even in your radar. But if you've ever owned a bf fender, and wanted a tweed, this is the only option right now. If you go to Mark with a non production idea, he'll build it for you, he won't make his commitmented timeline though. Would I buy another one? Yeah, that's a tuff one. The situation that incured was such bulsh*t that it left a sour taste in my mouth. But his amps are amazing and worth the money. Though they seem to have gone up recently. Time will tell if I ever go back to Victoria.
