This is an example from 5/01. I play blues based dance/R&B, and the Vic is perfect for it (hence why I bought it)!Features have been covered by prior reviews and will not be reiterated here. I am old school about my gear, and never got into FX loops and such. I dig having a Bright ch. for the Paul, and a Normal for the Tele. It has all the power I need for the size venues I play. So for me, I gotta score it a "10".

The Vic excells in the way it responds to my picking. The sweetest, warmest shimmer to a nasty grind all controlled w/ guitar volume and hands. It plays well w/ single coils, 'bucks, you name it!I especially like the way my Paul sounds w/ it- nice snap and sass for days! As for noise, well, I play live, and when the drummer counts in, its a non issue. Seems fine considering its a 1950's design tube amp. If you happen to be an OCD studio cat or bedroom wanker, you would not be attracted to this amp in the first place!

Like an old Harley, Fender tweeds and Blackface amps are still chuggin' along years after others have faded away. Since this is as close to NOS as you can get, I am confident it will easily outlive this old Plank Spanker!

Called Mark when I got it to figure out the cryptic dating code on the tube chart, he was polite and friendly. This amp ain't no moon rocket, so any local tech can service what I can't myself.

I have been playing in bands since the early 70's, and have been blessed to own and play though some fine amps, The Vicky is one of the best! I also play through a Matchless SC30. I would most certainly replace it w/ another if it went missing!
