Voodoo Amps Fender Twin Mod

OK this is for a 1972 Fender Twin Reverb Silverface that i had modded by Trace and the Guys at Voodoo Amps.
Basic Twin layout 2 channels with master volume reverb and Tremelo.
No Channel switching. 100 watts more then enough power and cuts through just about any mix. i bought the amp used in 1997 someone before me replaced the jensens with Sunn transducers I replaced them with Celestion vintage 30's The amp after the mod became a lot more versatile but it still a Fender Twin so very few bells and whistles

Gear wise i use an 84 strat plus with seymour duncans a PRS CE-22
Guild Starfire 4 semi hallow body dearmond pickups. through analog man modded effects (Crybaby, TS-9, DS-1,) a Boss DM-2 delay and an analog man chours pedal. the amp Channel one was added to the amp effects (reverb and Tremlo) and blackfaced and the sound with the strat is sweet traditional goes from that nice blues and does Surf guitar really well. Side Two was modded mor3 to a JTM 45 type sound not a real high gain i like to slam the front end with the tubescreamer. and the sound is amazing. NO bass flub any more everything is tight responsive it forces you to pay even more attention to your pick attack because any screw ups you make will be heard. the amp takes to pedals really well and if i ever get another twin i will send it in to Trace in a heart beat the guy does amazing work great to work with. i had the amp recapped retubed with Ruby's switched the master volume out to a post phase inverter. i have had the amp back for well over a month now and am still extremely pleased with it.

I bought the amp in 1997 and giged with it without any of the normal back up stuff no fuses or tubes carried around and not once had a problem with it till after the mod but that was just a bad tube that happens so no big deal and Trace repalced it so everything is fine.

I have read about Trace and Voodoo being some of the best at customer service and they were great to work with. Trace did not try and sell me anything that I didn't need. I asked about a couple diffrent mod add ons he does and you figure most would tell you to add this and that to make a buck. Trace was great and told me if it would really help the overall tone I was going for and and if it was not right for the tone he would state that it not really needed. so to me he vaules his customers more then the almighty buck (which is rare in this day and age i find)I would highly recomend anyone sitting on the fence about This Mod to go for it Trace and the guys at Voodoo were great to work with and won't try and sell you something you don't need. I would happily do buisnees with Voodoo amps again.

over all the 600 I spent on the mod recap retub plus the shipping is a great value. considering what tube amps go for now adays the amp lasted 36 years before I had it modded and hopefully will get another 36 years out of it. for what i enjoy playing the amp covers all of it beautifully. I played in Church with friends with a band. and love most guitar driven music. Fender was always known for that prestine clean this amp has it and more now and with the mod i get that nice JTM 45 sound as well on the other side so with an A-B switch it is like having two great sounding amps in one.

Was a standard 72 Silverface Twin with Master Volume. Sent to Trace, Now it is the best combo you can get.
Normal Channel: Changed to more of a plexi sound
Vibrato Channel: Blackfaced
Effects now on both channels

Holy SH...T; This baby rocks; Thing of having an early Marshall Plexi on one channel and a Blackface Twin on the other. The Master now sounds great, versaltility to the max

Trace handles his company like Nordstroms Dept. Store, built on customer service. Prompt emails/pics/. Fast turnaround. He is the MOST PROFESSIONAL MUSIC PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.

I picked the amp up at a good price. It had Orange JBL's in there. The cabinet is beat though. I do have a good buck invested but worth every penny. Trace has form that you tell him songs/artists that you are trying to sound like. If you want a great amp to be better send it to Trace.
