This is a heavily Modded early 60's Gibson Gibsonette Amp from Voodoo Amps. The blonde tolex had been removed but the original grille cloth was left intact and the bare wood was stained a dark brown. It is a single channel with Gain, Master Volume, Tone, "Meat Switch", and extension speaker. I use this amp mainly for recording but have used it for rehersals when nessessary. The design is very basic and it really only has one sound. I turn everthing up to ten and let it fly. The beauty is that it is not very loud, so you can get a very overdriven/compressed sound without hurting yourself.

Sound Quality : 8
This amp is the perfect match for any guitar with a Gibson P-90, I also use it with an old Tele with good results. I would describe the tone as similar to Pete Townsend's on Live at Leeds, but at a much lower volume. The tone is overdriven, but you can back off the volume on the guitar to clean it up a bit. Very creamy mids!!!

Reliability : 6
Because the amp runs so hot it tends to be a little problematic, I perfer to use this in the studio and wouldn't want to bring this one out live without a backup.

Customer Support : 9
I have had a very positive experience with Voodoo Amps. When I approached Trace about making this amp really scream with my 58 Les Paul Jr. he was really into it. We worked together replacing tubes/components until we got just the right combination. I think he went above and beyond the call of duty on this one.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing for 20+ years and have owned various guitars and amps including vintage strats, tele's, Les Paul Jr's, Tweed Bassman, Tweed Twin, Vox-AC30's, Marshalls ect. What I think makes this Voodoo amp Combo so attractive is that you are getting a relatively unknown vintage amp, hot rodded to the max, giving it a comparable tone to the others I have mentioned at a fraction of the cost. On the down side, The amp doesn't have the classic look of a vintage amp, or will not appreciate in value like some real collectables
