After the Voodoo Amp mod this amp rocks! Before the mod it was nothing special. The only thing I don't like is that this amp only has one reverb control and without the seperate footswitch it is either on or off. I need to buy the PED801 for the reverb. The is amp is a two channel amp, but in a way it is actually three. You have the clean channel and then you have the overdrive channel plus a boost channel for the overdrive. This amp is plenty loud. I have not tried it with a drum set yet, but I am sure it will easily hold its own. I may get an extension cab someday, but for now it is more than enough. You would mic it anyway if you were playing shows.

I use an Epiphone Les Paul with a Duncan JB, an Ibanez RG550 with an EMG 81 and a Fender Strat with a Duncan Custom. This amp can do it all. From blues to all out METAL!!! The clean channel is just fine for me. I would plan to get a chorus pedal to make the clean channel sound real nice. I had Voodoo Amps increase the gain and also fatten up the low end to give it more chunk. Boy did they ever come through! This amp can go from very articulate chording to extreme distortion all with the volume control on your guitar. Simply amazing! I like to play hardcore originals and lots of Alice in Chains, Zakk Wylde, plus some old Metallica. I do play blues with my friends and it works just fine for that too.

This amp seems very solid. I did install a fan to cool the tubes, because of a design defect. All of the heat from the tubes goes straight up into the electronics. I spent $12 of a fan and bolted it to the metal grill in the back and it hardly warms up at all. I will give it a 6 due to the design defect.

I bought the Amp on Ebay for I think $400. The only time I dealt with Marshall was when I asked about the foot pedal for the reverb. They were very helpful. The Voodoo Amps support was awesome. They did more than I asked for and I could not be happier. I did not know they could make a little amp like this into such a monster. The turn around time was almost too fast. Since, I basically had to turn right around and go back to get it.

I have been playing for 10 years and I have never been happy with any of my amps until now. I have had Marshall, Crate, and Fender. I will keep this one until either I or the amp dies. I say all of this after the Voodoo Amps mod. I was not happy with the sound until I got it back from them. When I bought the amp I bought it with the Voodoo Amp mod in mind. I wanted a 1x12 oe 2x12 tube amp that has a good amount of power and that could be modified by Voodoo Amps. I got a good deal on the amp and I am very happy with it now. I usully play by myself at home so I don't need a stack, but I do want that stack sound at low volumes. I usually jam with friends at loud volumes a couple times a year and this thing is by far the best sounding amp at those jams. I am very happy with it!
