Single channel, dual master volume amp. Basically a rock'n'roll machine. Pre-mod tone was actually pretty good; I should've left well enough alone.

Sound Quality : 1
The mod sounded like ASS. It DID NOT sound like any of the sound clips on their website. Very little definition; would not clean up when guitar's volume was turned down; strange, 60cycle-like hum behind notes when playing a solo or single note line. "Bottom" control was not very effective, basically added more mud to an already muddy tone. Very noisy when not playing. Loud pop when turning on and off. Should've tried to get my money back, had to sell amp for less than I could've gotten for it before the hack-job mod. Black epoxy fingerprints were on the rear chassis grill cover, looks like no attempts were made to clean it up. One of the old 12AX7 tubes had not been boxed properly for shipping, and was apparently rolling around inside the chassis during shipping. I doubt that was the problem.

Reliability : No Opinion
Didn't keep it long enough to find out.

Customer Support : 3
Were nice on phone, good at stall tactics, mod took three and a half weeks when website said it would be a two day turn around. Lots of excuses; "family issues", problems with UPS,etc. I saw some of the other horror stories when folks sent their amps back, and decided to sell it. I actually called UPS in Ithaca to see if amp was there to be shipped after Voodoo said they had dropped it off; the UPS rep said it wasn't there.

Overall Rating : 3
I've been playing thirty years now, have been through ALOT if gear. The Voodoo Mod is close to the bottom of the tone quality list for sure. I don't know where all these 10's are coming from; I DO know I'm not the only one to have problems with Voodoo Amps. My advice is to get an amp that sounds good stock and be done with it, or be there when somone works on your amp so you can tell them if it's right or not.
