I bought my original Triple Rectifier back in 2001. It's the 3 channel model most already know the specs of so im not gonna go into detail. The only thing that i wish the amp had was reverb on the clean channel but i guess thats what effects are for. I play in a hard rock band and also play a lot of metal. I had never been happy with the tones i've had from this amp. I had purchased a ADA MP-1 off ebay about 5 years or so ago. It didn't have a manual so upon searching online for one, i discovered Voodoo Amps. After a lot of reading and discovering they do rectifer mods i wanted one for the longest time but couldn't afford it and was worried about shipping my amp across the country. Now it's 2008 and the tones from the rectifier are only frustrating me further. I finally ponyed it up and called Trace at Voodoo amps. Best decision i've made for my tonal needs!

Before getting my amp modded i was always disappointed with my tone. After sending my amp in to Voodoo and having the deluxe mod done as well as a upgraded choke (recommended by Trace), i can't stop smiling while playing! I use a Gibson Les Paul with a PRS tremonti pickup in the bridge. It absolutely screams!! The clean channel is a significant improvement from the factory settings. More headroom and chime top it. Still not 100% what im looking for but i use a BBE Sonic Maximizer on the clean channel ONLY to get a bit more warmth out of it. I have the 2nd channel (orange) set up on the vintage setting and have a more warm kinda classic rock tone dialed up and it sounds better than any other tone i've had out of that channel. The 3rd channel (red) is my primary channel. It takes they high gain tones and punches you in the face!! The low end is tighter than any other amp i've played on. I really can't believe how well it holds up. I run my gain at about a 7 and get great heavy tones and pinch harmonics all while keeping the ability of hearing every note in a chord. There is still a little excess noise coming from the channel, but i clean that up with a ISP Decimator rack mount noise gate. When using the channel for lead playing it really cuts through the mix both at practice and live. I absolutely love this amp now!

No Opinion
I've had some reliability problems with the amp lately, not to any fault of Voodoo Amps. I kept blowing fuses! Turns out i had a recitifer tube go bad. Replaced that and it worked fine for about 3 weeks. Then BAM, out goes a fuse. Had a faulty power tube this time. Replaced all my power tubes and warrantied them out to Voodoo. Have had no problems since, hope to keep it this way! I won't rate this category because i feel i was just vicitim of faulty tubes and no fault to the work done by voodoo.

wow! I read all the good things about Trace/ Anthony and the guys at Voodoo Amps. Figured people just got lucky cause i always seem unlucky when it comes to customer service. But, my lord! This should be a model for customer service everywhere! These guys really are outstanding. Trace was very helpful in advising me with my tonal needs before sending my amp in as well as after recieving it. With the fuse problems i had after it they were helpful and willing to service it themselves as well as advising me to trustworthy local repair stores for my desire to keep shipping costs down. I would love to do future business with these guys. Incredible experience.

I've been playing guitar for almost 10 years now. I've owned a few different amps and played on countless others. This is by far the closest to a dream tone i've gotten! If it were lost or stolen i might buy another one or i might look into one of Voodoo's handmade amps. If the mods sound this good, the custom made stuff has got to be phenomenal! Overall the amp as been pretty pricey, 1600 for the amp itself, and another 1000 for the mod, new tubes and shipping. However, i can honestly say it's all been worth it and i would gladly do it again, knowing what i've been able to achieve tonally.

The amp before the mod made me depressed every time I played it because it did not sound very good for $1600.00 bucks!!! Then I found Voodoo. I saved up money from my job delivering chinese for about 3 months and then made an apointmet to have my Rectifier touched with magic. The distortion is basically amazing (channel 3). Its can get very distorted but still clear and have lots of definition and sustain. Channel two i set up to have light distortion with the vintage mode on to get a nice crunch and it sounds great!!!. The clean channel is beautiful its like so clean and deep and bright all mixed perfectly and with the right e.qing its sounds basically perfect. Palm mutes are hugh for the distortion channels. The amp can basically touch any style of music that that involves guitar, and sound good too. It will kill lots of amps that you put in front of it.

My mesa was not that great before but its a hell of alot better now. If you are sceptical about Voodoo amps dont be they are great. Trace and Anthony are great people. I drove down to New York with my family from Cleveland, Ohio to get my amp modded and they did a great job. If someone stole my amp I would cry because I bought a $900.00 car because I spent about $800.00 for 4x12 cab, about $1600.00 for amp, and then cables and guitar (epiphone les pual) and then the mod $395.00 some one would get killed because of karma because you would probally never find out who it was, and yes Karma esists......

This is a Triple Rectifier with the standard features. The only difference is the amp has been modified by Voodoo amps.

I liked the amp before the mods and only wanted to get rid of some of the buzziness on the top end. Voodoo amps did the job! I was not totally satisfied with the amp at first. There seemed to be too much gain loss. However, now that I have had the amp back for while, the amp is really starting to grow on me. The sounds are fat and rich. It is like a rectifier that has been sweetened up. I don't know if it is the ultimate amp for me, but it is definitely my favorite so far. I still wish there was a bit more gain, but I use a Boss SD1 to make up the difference. As a matter of fact, I kinda like this method. It sort of gives me an additional set of tones.

Mesa amps are normally pretty dependable. I will have to wait to see if the mod holds up.

Trace is very easy to work with. There were some parts issues in the beginning though, and I think if you are going to specialize in a certain type of amp mod you should have spare parts specific to that amp and a schematic on hand and not have to send for it. This caused some unnecessary delays in getting the amp back on time as promised. However, in the end, Trace made everything right.

I have been playing for 30 years and have been looking for the "Holy Grail" amp for almost as many. This amp, with the Voodoo mods, is as close as I have gotten.
