This review is for a modification that was done to my Soldano HR-50. In its original state, I felt the amp was pretty thin and weak sounding. I approached Trace about modding it, and he happily explained all the directions we could go. I believe he rewired the amp to his "hex circuit". Whatever it is, it's awesome!!

Before the mod, the HR-50 was pretty thin sounding, with no real beef to it. After Trace did his magic, I have more gain on tap, the bottom end is tigher, and the notes are thicker and more articulate. I really can't believe how good the head sounds now.
Everyone is amazed by the tone of this amp. Simply the best high gain tone I've heard.

Trace is one of the nicest guys I have met. After a shipping mix up, he shipped me free tubes (Mullards!!) as way of apologizing (it wasn't even his fault!!) I recommend him without hesitation!

After hearing this head, I'm saving up for one of Trace's custom creations. Literally, these amps have to heard to be believed. Check out voodoo amps!!
