The amp is a 68ish, I believe, traynor bass master mkII. I had trace modify it for a master volume and to alleviate some of the boomy bass and harsh treble. So the master volume and the unbelievable tone are the basis for my high rating. I like an amp with few bells and whistles, just good tone, as a basis for my setup. Pedals for distortion, delay, effects.

Sound Quality : 10
The amp now sounds amazing! It's definitely thicker and more musical, and that boomy bass and harsh treble that I did not like is not there any more! I run a stock les paul smartwood exotic, into a few pedals (boss digital delay, ibanez tube king od, other random and seldom used ones) into the high gain bass input. I then jumper the low gain bass input to the high gain guitar input. The way I've been setting it lately is to put the gain on both channels at about 4-5, then put the voodoo amps installed master on about 7 (to taste and less for quieter applications). It sounds like an overdriven plexi at useable volumes (to me) and takes oh so kindly to my tube king od, and also seems to warm up my other effects pedals, probably due to the master volume overdrive. The amp is thick as hell, cuts, and can get very loud!

Reliability : 8
When trace was modding it, he also did a total check over and replaced a couple of caps and some other stuff. I haven't had any problems yet and don't expect to! I don't really think gigging without a backup is ever a good idea if you have the means, so I'll probably take one amp to use as a "band backup" still. But, other than a blown tube or fuse here or there, I don't foresee needing a backup really.

Customer Support : 10
Trace also excels at customer support. We emailed back and forth tons of times before, during, and even after the whole transaction! If there is one thing I'm sure all his customers will agree upon, he's definitely got the customer support thing down. I don't believe his work is warranteed explicitly , but if something were to crap out on me I'd be willing to bet Trace would do what it took to get it fixed!

Overall Rating : 10
The price is for the mods and shipping alone, not for the actual amp. I got that for $100 shipped (!) off of ebay. So for $450 plus extra for tubes and what not, I've got an amazing plexi-like amp! Overall, even notwithstanding the price, I believe I've got one amazing sounding, pro-quality amp that I am satisfied with totally. Thanks again Trace!
