this amp is a nice sounding amp, play through a fender 62 american stratocaster. it has that perfect funk sound. to me, this amp is like haveing a marshall/ fender. has a great fender deluxe reverb sounds while it has a good marshall plexi sound, yet not at marshall volumes.
great vibrodo and reverb too.

i love the amp. been playing for over 20 years. one thing i wish it was, was a tad bit fuller sounding. its only 15 watts but i wish there was something i could do to beef up the sound a bit. other than that, its great.
if it were lost or stolen, i'd buy anther one. they're cheap enough.
oh try a les paul on this amp. wow!!

This is Vox sound. It's not a Marshall. A previous reviewer mentioned that the amp could produce the warm sound of a Marshall. I bought one practically on what this guy said. Now, with all due respect to him, I don't know how he could make the amp do that. I'm planning on buying a Marshall DSL-401.
My style is rock through a Kramer with EMG's.

Didn't own it long enough to make a good judgment here.

I have been playing since I was a kid. I put together a Strat-style "kit" guitar after buying what I thought was the perfect components to try to re-create a Music Man Axis sound. Oops. Didn't work out so well. The guitar sounds high and thin. The neck is a Warmoth radius, pickup is a DiMarzio DP160 Norton (not Air Norton), Floyd Rose bridge, and Planet Waves Auto-Trim Locking Tuners. Oh well. I wanted to part it out but my eight year old discouraged that. He's proud of it.

I have been searching for a TUBE amp for years that has a Master Volume, Reverb and Tremolo. This is all I need in a amp, it also has to sound good. I play mostly Blues some Old R&B, Rock-a-billy, Surf and some Old Classic Rock. I have been playing out for around 45 years. I have had just about every amp from just about every Fender model to Marshall and MOST BOUTIQUE AMPS. Dr.Z (2), Matchless (4), Kendrick (3), Juke and many more. This VOX is simple to operate, the controls are basic yet you can dial in simply any tone you need. The amp has tremolo which is a must for me. I am a reverb and trem NUT. I first bought the AC 30CC2 on eBay. I was totally pleased with the amp. I bought that amp for $940 with Celestion Golds. With being so satisfied with the 30 I figured I would try the 15. The 30 was a little bigger than I need and it is a very loud amp. I got the 15 for $599 including shipping.

First of all I never felt the urge to write a review on a amp or guitar. I never felt that one amp sounded good enough for me to do so. Well, I found a AMP that deserves some praise. I collect Vintage Guitars and Amps. Like I mentioned, I have had them all. I play an assortment of different guitars. Mainly for gigging, I use a Vintage Strat and a 335. They handle just about any sound that I need. I got this amp on a Thursday, plugged it in at home for a few minutes and turned it off, it sounded pretty good. I took it to a gig the following night (Friday). This amp is unbelievable. First of all it is rated at 15 watts. I have had 50 watt amps that would have a hard time keeping up with this amp. With the master volume, I could dial in any clean to distorted tone I needed. I do use a TS-9 to put the amp over the edge. I am just blown away how good the amp sounds. When I turned the reverb on at home I thought it sounded thin. When I played the amp at a gig with a band, that funky thin tone disappeared. There is enough reverb to keep Dick Dale happy. The tremolo is awesome better than most vintage Fenders. I have the stock speaker that comes with the amp. I have read some reviews saying to put in a Celestion Blue. At this point, I am totally happy with the stock speaker. This amp has plenty of CLEAN HEADROOM, really great for those James Brown type funky rhythms chords. I am working with a 3 piece band and for that type band you need a very full sounding amp. This is that amp. I am totally please with this amp For the $$$, you just can't beat it.

I don't know, I have only had the amp for a week. It being made in CHINA does scare me. That is the only draw back on this amp. Why can't any of these boutique guys come up with something that sounds this good. and then there's the price....

I have been gigging my whole life and have tried just about every amp out there. I would replace this amp in a heart beat if something happened to it. I am actually thinking of selling off most of my Vintage amps. I have the AC30CC2 for the bigger outdoor shows. I actually think this amp would handle those shows, just shove a Mic in front of it. I wouldn't compare this to any other amp. I have finally found the amp I have been looking for. I wish Vox would make a Made in England hand wired version of this amp.
